I went through abrupt Dissociation in 4th grade, it utterly vaporised my nascent developing identity and I had little to no way of articulating it to myself and adults at the time. It was existentially traumatic. I've been deeply curious regarding it compared to awakening from the moment I found your channel. Some of things I experienced have striking similarities to what you describe but there was no comfort. I felt like an alien experiencing persistent, involuntary VR through my own body. Months to years of rebuilding an identity and resocialising during the most awkward phase of life, only come back to this... divine comedy at it's best. I can only shake my head and laugh.
Concerning shame or "bad" emotions l adopted this approach: l allow myself to feel it fully, find out when l felt it as a child in which occasions, l talk to the inner child and comfort it, embrace it. Then l verbalize the exact belief and say it out lowdly more times. This is about bringing the unconscious to the conscious that it can no longer have power over me. Often shame is not obvious because there is a layer on top like fear, avoidance or even anger.
Thank you. I needed this. I’ve done inner child work with my therapist, and alone too. I bought my own EMDR paddles and to solitary EMDR sessions. It’s been very helpful. I too talk to, listen and repareent that little boy. Hugs. Thanks for your share. ❤
Thank you SO MUCH for talking about Dissociation as a mental state- I had 3 years of sheer terror in my 30's that was a VERY bad Dissociative state from Trauma
@@Godamole I was not familiar with Non-duality/Awakening that I knew of so I turned to conventional therapies and strangely started praying to Jesus since when I was young- I was raised in the church- those were the spiritual paths I went to.. just to have some tether to something bigger I could have some hope. Looking back I realize grace and the One Universal intelligence was guiding me the whole time but when I was in it I just availed myself to Psychiatric medication, talk therapy and anything that would even temporarily provide me relief- Be easy on yourself, be your own absolute best friend and do what you can to never ever accept shame, guilt or blame- you are always doing the best you can- don't give up- Love you ❤️
Angelo, your first answer, about disidentifying from thought, was pure gold. It’s a tricky place, where one is aware of the charade, yet still kinda stuck in it. Thank you a thousand times.
brilliant video, super helpful. Lisa's pointing re emotion towards the end is so good, such clear steps. Also, the editing at 57.20 made me laugh. Must admit I've watched that bit and Lisa's reaction to the noise a few times just now. Came here for the pointing and stayed for the laughs!
I too missed the live but had to laugh when you, Angelo mentioned the animal rescue thing. Recently those have been showing up in my UA-cam suggestions. Sometimes I watch the shorts because I love the happy endings but mostly I click away as fast as I can because OWOWOWOW!!!
I tend to relate to what people like Gabor Matè say about dissociation. Paraphrasing, "basically it's a freeze response to a traumatic experience in infancy and/or childhood. When you're unable to fight or flight, you'll freeze by dissassociating. It's a way of self-preservation where you project yourself to be in a 'better place' because you can't escape the present situation through a fight or flight response." In later life, dissociation might be experienced as "intense daydreaming." In other words it's intensely tuning out time and physical surroundings. It might feel good at the time you're doing it but it might not. The main issue I notice with dissociation is that there's little to no sense of awareness while you're in that state. Dissociation is like going into a trance. People that do 'trance channeling,' I wonder if this could be related somehow to the disociated mental state? In that case, dissociation would not necessarily be a bad thing. Personally, I think it's really cool to listen to trance channels and I enjoy it! That's another topic though...
I noticed there is a still image at the 0:32 mark showing Oprah Winfrey with the message "You can wake up! You also can wake up! Everybody can wake up!" Was that the "Simply Always Awake" channel's intention or was this an accident?
Hey Angelo. Are your videos on the sense fields and the it's practice I hear a lot of viewers talking about just that, an optional practice? Whilst I have experienced it a few times I haven't been pulled to practice it and had never really come across it till your channel (it did explain my experience glimpses though). I've been sorting of following an intuitive process and no linear models and I feel that the falling away of subject object will just happen whenever but I have doubts now hearing so many people talking about practicing it. If you or anyone could advise please. Thanks.
Angelo, there is an urge for a question... In your earlier video's there was the background of space, moving colours,... Did it have a purpose? Glimps into reality?, Getting attention of creative/ mad minds?, ...yeah mindbased... and why did you change it into the studio?
I never miss Lisa’s Sunday lives! 😊
Ah no ways can't believe I missed this, I love Lisa!

Thanks Lisa!!! 14:37
I’ve been enjoying these interviews more and more ☺️
The lady with the Scandinavian/Northern Irish accent blew my mind more than awakening. What an unusual mix!!
❤
Thank you 🙏 ❤

Beautiful double-barrel! Thank you, Angelo and Lisa! Is it just part 1 with part 2 to come? It seemed it ended very abruptly
Looking forward to this😊❤
What a treat 🍬🍭🍬🍭
Lisa's chair is better than Captain Kirk's.
