My name is Mike. I was on the trip across Satan's Ridge in 2010 with Steve, Noah, Kiefer, and myself. The carabineer you saw with the blue tape on it (when you said it was wild ppl rapped off of the pin) is mine. You did it in style! Fantastic video. Makes me wanna go back.
There’s a reason this isn’t the fifth great 14er traverse. Stout work sending it free and solo. After hearing stories about the exposure it was nice to actually see it. Thanks for putting it online.
Thanks! I'm lactose intolerant, ate some pizza last night, and have been shitting my brains out all morning. After watching this, I don't think my arsehole is un-clenching for a week 👍
10:35 is by far the most insane moment I think I watched in this video.. this is like free solo flash or something.. my heart is pounding back in time for you dude.. you summoned the quantum timescale
Mad Respect! Been toying with the idea of this traverse since I first saw it. We now have a first man ever to do the fifth great traverse in one go. What a legend.
That rock quality, length and exposure make this one of the coolest and scariest videos about the 14ers. Awesome work! Congrats on the accomplishment and setting a new bar!
I knew you when I was a client at JW and you were working there; I just happened to stumble upon this video randomly while watching other mountaineering vids. Holy shit man this is nuts. Glad to see you getting after it still. Literally some of the spookiest downclimbing i've ever watched
I went from about 20 different videos of people doing Knife’s Edge and then I found THIS GUY. Holy cow, I was puckered the whole time, worried about him hitting a spot with no holds. The loose rocks were extra spicy.
I must have been in that valley hundreds of times, my pops was a forest ranger for White River National Forest and that ridge seems so familiar from below. Incredible video sir.
All your faith in hanging on those flaky spires! No thanks. You have to be a little crazy, but you have the strength, experience, and talent to back it up. Well done. Most of us will never know what we are truly capable of.
Wow! After climbing Snowmass via S-Ridge and seeing Satan's I became fascinated by it. Didn't think it could be done so quickly! That's some choss up there. Nice job!
Never watched a 14er or traverse video that made my palms sweat quite like this… that down climb though! Wish you showed you getting across that ledge after it. Absolutely crazy stuff man.
From time to time in the video you can see the shadow of the ridge way down in Pierre Lakes Basin. Even that shadow looks jagged and scary. It's quite amazing.
Congrats! Very entertaining. Curious how you recorded your footage. I didn't see a go pro or selfish extender at any point. Have you done any hikes/climbs more dangerous than this one?
@ I can’t remember the page but they used your footage and posted it like it was their own and got ten million views. They’re stealing from you, that was my only point
Wow. This the highest quality video I’ve seen of this ridge… and it further solidifies my desire to never be on it. Nice job!

Crazy I just finished reading your trip report and it made me want to watch this route again. Then yours is the first comment I see.
Well this is incredible. A skilled climber for sure.
Congrats on being one of a handful of people to achieve this, let alone do it solo, without equipment, and quickly! Impressive!

That rock quality, length and exposure make this one of the coolest and scariest videos about the 14ers. Awesome work! Congrats on the accomplishment and setting a new bar!
This is absolutely horrifying. Great work.
How does this video only have 4k views? With the right avenues, it would be viral. You are one gnarly animal my friend. SICK BIRD

I had to pause the video so I could comment and tell you that you are a bad ass, sir
Some scariest shit I’ve ever seen. Don’t want the vid to end
Truly inspiring to see how you move over terrain like that. Can’t wait to get Cap in the bag, very good shit👍🏽

This was terrifying, great work.
I must have been in that valley hundreds of times, my pops was a forest ranger for White River National Forest and that ridge seems so familiar from below. Incredible video sir.

this is fantastic. Great work.
“ you got this duuude!”
Fucking awesome brotha,
You rock hard!
Congratulations, looks cool. colorado is a wild place.
Incredible footage. You must have some kind of superpower to be able to just stand on a vertical rock wall. 😳
So you scale capitol and then up the anti by choosing what could be one of the most dangerous traverses ever. Nuts.
Unreal. Truly impressive 👏
Nicely done
incredible! Nice job. Amazing!
the blood splattered all over the rocks makes this even more intimidating, lol
What in the absolute FUCK oh my god
well, can safely say my man is not afraid of heights.
You sir..crushed that! Truly inspiring

Be careful man, glad everything worked out.
LOL, sometimes class 3 is too much for me! This is way, way beyond that. P.S. Thank you for not spoiling this by slapping on some crappy music.
That was absolutely horrifying. Well fucking done.
This is basically free soloing
This is totally badass
Please keep making videos
Man talk about flirting with death. This is absolutely insane
absolutely terrifying just to watch this
This is the absolute scariest ridge in the state…so committing. Back in the 70’s we all knew it would never be traversed.
This made my hands sweat lmfao you're built different
Holy shi...! Great video.
An average of less than 10 people do this an year.

They also got into a 30 hour nightmare and had to contact Search and Rescue ;)
