Kwaku is the name they give to man that are born on wednesday in Ghana (I think). The slavery in Suriname was ended on wednesday 1st of july in 1863. In Surinam we also have a statue of a man called kwaku that was made because of the ending of slavery on wednesday. So because of the ending of the slavery in Surinam on a wednesday the festival is called kwaku. I never knew there where so much Surinamese people in Ghana. Thats nice to see. ( I am from Surinam)
Thank you my beloved brother/sister M. Kay. You're right, for that was my expierience when I was there. The warm feeling and greetings ,, Welcome home". Pleasant feeling to hear this from Ghanian brothers/ sisters. God Bless!
Looks like Micah was getting some kind of wintie while playing the drums. Lol. Sophie is also good at filming, now you have an assistant. Good to see that everyone is aware by now. Loved this kwaku festival. Looked like Dubai compared to the other one you mentioned.
Suriname was present. Just saw the Flag. Nice. The 1st flag was Suriname. 2nd was The NL Antilles. The group/lady who sang and danced is from the "marron" (runnaway slaves) culture from Suriname
This was very educational and enjoyable to watch. Please dears don't allow anyone to discourage you (I have seen some ...) continue doing what you are doing vlogging and living your best life in Ghana, you are a lovely GHANAIAN FAMILY There are more with you than against you; we love you and your content so give us more... 😚😚
Saw you having interview on other channel and I decided to check you out.now I'm stuck with you! Funny how I didn't even subscribe to that channel but yours
I'm in Belgium and I've heard alot about this festival. I hope to withness it one day. Is true there are also of blacks in berma especially Ghanaians I've been there several times. Nice one there
Is this Accra or Kumasi? Suriname has very strong ties to Ghana in terms of cultural relations. They even have their own version of Akom. I researched about them some years ago.
Nice to see you both and your lovely kids in Ghana. My wife and I are from Suriname, living in The Netherlands (for about 50 years) and our wish to visit Ghana became reality three years ago. Although we've had just 12 days stay( too short), it was a wonderful time. From Rijswijk with love to you all !!
Hoi lieve mensen. Succes 🍀
The Achampong family what inspires. Kelvin and Anna and their kids too. I don’t anything about our Kwaku Festival in Accra. Kelvin and Anna am sure you would agree with me Accra is wild and the best because there’s a lot happening there. I prefer using our own African names than these non African ones.
