The only time I ever went to Disney world we went on this ride and it lasted way longer than the Disneyland one. Because we got stuck and a worker came out and said, “PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR! AND WAVE THEM LIKE YOU DONT CARE!” And we weren’t stuck anymore, funniest experience ever. 😂
"Florida was really familiar with Pirates already".......
😂😂😂
I know someone from Florida who lived on a boat and where robbed and kidnapped by pirates.
Same i saw a pirate jump off of someone's sinking sailboat as they went off with the guy's life savings
Love how Disney just assumed everyone who would visit Disney World was already from Florida 😂
Well this was the 1960s, not as many people would be travelling from all over the world lmao.
I love when people make shorts and cut it in the middle of a sentence.
It’s because of the 1 minute limit as well as some shorts just being clips from long form videos.
That drop they have in the ride is only put in so the ride can fit under the Railroad tracks.
In 1974 my working-class parents were able to take our family of 5 to the newly-opened Disney World. For kids from a tiny town in Northern Wisconsin, it was like going to a magic different universe. I highly doubt my parents could have afforded to make that trip if Disney had cost then what it does now (adjusted).
WDW actually had planned to open a water ride based on the Old West and cowboys. It was going to be the centerpiece of a whole new expansion to Frontierland called Thunder Mesa, which would've included a runaway mine train and a pack mule ride.
“Guests were excited to ride pirates” 💀
Edit: thank you so much for 100 likes holy crap that’s a lot
This, and the haunted mansion are my fav 2 rides.
The cutoff💀
yet we had the jungle cruise even though you can just go outside and it will look the same
Too bad your sentence was cut off.
This happens way too many times to too many videos! Pisses me off!! 😡😡
I just downvote the video. It doesn't matter if I like the content you didn't even give me the chance to finish, so no you get a downvote.
It seems to have helped...
I remember when Disney used tickets like a carnival. My parents brought us every year as a child because we lived on the east coast of Florida. Disney 1.5 hours away.
Yes, I just looked it up and they stopped using tickets in 1982 and turned into an all-inclusive park. For around $28.00 you got everything in the park minus food and souvenirs. It cost $3.50 to enter the park and you would buy a book of tickets to ride whichever rides you wanted.
The internet can be so helpful at times..
Its like opening a steakhouse on the coast of italy they want sea and Italian food not texas longhorn steak. And a desert saloon vibe. Lol sounds kinda dope actually
Pirates has always been one of my favorite rides. First visit was in 1976 when I was 5 . I miss the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride .
It's been a really long time since I went to Disney (as in...10+ years!) But the two rides I remember absolutely loving is Pirates and Space Mountain!,
they do say "play your hits" for a reason
Im so glad that this video didnt randomly c-
The original ride idea was soooooo cool. I love pirates but I would love that original concept to come back someday
Not me waiting for her to talk about how they changed the “WE WANTS THE REDHEAD” part ❤️🩹💀
Sammmmmmmee!! My red head daughter and I are still salty. Always will be.
Technically speaking, the Florida version isn't shorter because of time crunch, although that is a factor. The original plan for the Florida project was that instead of pirates they would have a ride called "Western River Expedition" which was a western version of the California pirates, even re-using some of the jokes and scenes. Since they didn't want there to be two versions of the same ride in the park, they omitted sections of pirates. Sadly, the ride was never built and the land for it was used for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain
4 years later. 1967 in Disneyland. WDW opened in 1971 and started fielding complaints on day 1. Changes had nothing to do with timeframe but the water table in Florida.
When I first went on Disney World pirates after going to Disneyland so many times, I was so confused as to why it was so short 😂
Loved this ride❤
Floridians not excited about pirates was a Huge mistake.
Poor Johnny Depp. Disney didn't deserve him
@@jalapeno1119 No he was wrongly accused. Disney fired him on the spot because Amber Heard made up crazy accusations. They didn't even listen to him or what he had to day. She put on makeup to make it look like her face had bruises and she was the one that abused Johnny. She threw a glass bottle at him that cut off his finger.
@@miyukidawn9803Jonny Depp wasn't an abuser (guessing you're talking about physical abuse), Amber absolutely was though
Bro was like: you didn’t have to cut me off
I, as a kid in 79 6 years old was on that ride. Member it like yesterday
I always go to Disney cause in love in Florida and it’s always so much fun to go❤️
Tampa native here! We literally have a pirate parade (Gasparilla). Floridians LOVE pirates.
You know people dont take their content serious when they cut mid-sentence…
Honestly, even not being on the Disneyland one for a while, you can feel the difference when riding them
Geez people will get mad at anything these days
I first rode it in when I was 5 back in 1974.
I went with my family to Disney World twice. First time and never again. What broke the camel's back was waiting 45 minutes with my little son on the Dumbo line fir a 2 minute 49 seconds ride. I realized the Dumbo was me.
Why am I getting all these happy happy joy joy Disney videos?
I miss the old Disneyland Pirates.
Well it was shorter than expected but I loved it and that's what got me watching the movies again
That’s annoying but still cool
And it’s was supposed to be a whole different word in the Magic Kingdom’s to Frontierland called Western River Expedition.
That makes sense when Florida was one of the colonies used quite often by pirates due to its proximity to the Caribbean
Love the Disney content
Is this anaheim disneyland? We met a golden key holder when we went there on vacation (if you didnt know the golden key was a free entry into the park whenever if you where some of the first kids in the parks
I go to Walt Disney World and like, do you have a favorite park 😂😂😂😂😂
One of the best rides there in my opinion
"We want the red head"
I'm glad it's there❣️❣️❣️
💖💗💝 🌹🌹🌹
🌹🌹🌹 🌹🌹🌹
🌹🌹🌹 ✌️ 💛
The pirates ride creeps me out cuz I feel so small and I’m gonna drown in the water from the tiny boat😂
Disneyworld Pirates ride literally stinks so bad compared to Disneyland in Cali.
Disney should have remade the ride at Epcot and make it like the Paris version.
"shorter" idk I've never been stuck in the Disneyland version for 25 minutes to an hour 😂
What upset guest FAR more is when they changed the ride for wokeness. They also did this rsther hypocriticaly pick and chose what to remove and chance. For example. Chasing a women was seen as wrong, but selling black people was okay.....
We wants the redhead!
Fun Fact ALL THE RIDES ARE SHORTER at Disney World.
Someone watched "Behind the Attraction" on Disney+ 😂
I never knew Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by a pie I fought it was a bullet
Pirates of the Caribbean released in 2003
No the movies were based off of the oops I was talking about how she showed did Johnny Depp version of Captain Jack Sparrow instead of the book version
And they got rid of the Lady in red and replaced it with somebody wearing pants😭 like why.
to be fair the kinda of people who go to disney can’t wait to complain sooo…. there you have it
I never bought that excuse. I lived in the southeast (Georgia) all my life and never knew anything about pirates.
Did she really say in 1960s? Pirates of the Caribbean wasn’t even an idea at that point I don’t think Johnnie Dep was in any movies yet at that time
I was in it long ago. I am not sure about being in Disney Land. It's a small World, that is a must...
Must be why Disneyland doesn’t have Hollywood studios.
Ooof, this definitely was a gaff. I mean, yes, people FROM Florida would perhaps be a little bored with pirates, but most the guests are not from Florida.
Wasn't always the case. A good chunk of guests are from the east coast or the south, and a lot of WDW is themed after that.
We went there on our honeymoon!
The one in Japan is the meaning st classic one today
We wants the redhead
Pirates opened at Disneyland in 67. Magic Kingdom opened 4 years later. 2 years later pirates opened there. That’s less than 10 years
Knowing Disney these days, they'll probably update the ride with butt pirates.
I’m more upset that it’s so much less jarring now. Really buttered my chaps
Cuh-ri-bee-an. Care-uh-bee-an is the location. Pirates of the Cuh-ri-bee-an is the name of the ride. The Care-uh-bee-an is the place on the map.
Disney really makes no sense when it comes to localizing for different markets. They also said since Hong Kong is a costal city people may be familiar with pirates so they didn’t add the pirate ride in Hong Kong Disneyland. Like what? They think there are pirates in Hong Kong? Lmao
I was just at Disneyland
Back when they cared what they guests thought…
Disney upsets their customers on an almost daily basis.
Disneyland's Pirates is SOOOO much BETTER than Disney World's.
I hope this has nothing to do with Johnny Depp being fired by Disney (The Devil).
Did they get ride of the bird in Disneyland because I went last time and he wasn't there at the entrance and he is my favorite part of the ride?
"Disney made a decision that surprising upset guests" is not surprising anymore
Florida was really familiar with Pirates already.... yeah and they live in Clearwater😒☠️☠️☠️🌶️🤘🏽
No mention of how they stabbed Johnny Depp in the back🗡️
Pirates opened in ‘67 Disney World opened 4 years later. Not 10.
Im familiar with cars yet i keep riding the speedway 🤷🏻♂️
The drop was cool but the water was 😬....Lets just say I stank after the ride
Disney World opened 16 years later
Upset!!! Time to boycott
WDW opened 16 years after Disneyland. I guess you can say about 10 years although it’s closer to 20 years.
Congrats you watched the behind the attractions episode
Familiar with pirates…. Dude I live in florida in 2023 not 1773. They’re no longer a threat 😂
Disney has done a lot of things that made people with the right minds upset already
So Disney did something that their customers dont really care about. Shocker.
I went to Disney World in 1974. It was boring. No fast rides.
👍
More upsetting is Disney ripping of their customers there and their spread of hate
It is time to divorce Disney.
THANKS AMBER HEARD! 😡
Even if it has absolutely NOTHING to do with her, when ANYTHING goes wrong with ANYTHING concerning Pirates of the Caribbean (movies, rides, etc) we blame Amber Heard for it. 😂😂😂
@@cosmic3829 can you not read? You have trouble with reading comprehension don't you!
First it was a joke. Second it doesn't matter WHEN she was born. THAT has absolutely NOTHING to do with what I said. I CLEARLY said "even if it has absolutely NOTHING to do with her" I guess that part just escaped your field of vision huh? You couldn't WAIT to interject with your idiotic little, "weLL aCtUaLLy" comment.
Pay attention next time. And if you can't read, get someone else to do it for you. But don't try to correct someone when you yourself don't understand context and figurative innuendos. 🙄
Disney, oblivious to their customers wants since...when did Disney start making things?
Unfortunately Disney has once again ruined Pirates of the Caribbean.
Interesting
“Familiar with pirates” Oh yeah just the other day my coastline shop got raided by Pirates, they stole all me booty
Ight but for real in Panama city beach you'd see a pirate ship every now and then
Why 1960s??? The first movie was released in 2003
Hope your booty is okay. ... Oh, wait a second here....
@@princealmighty5391Bro the movies were based on the ride💀 Google could’ve told you that
