Light weight, what ever happened to the old super light aluminum Loc-On's? That design was awesome. Fortunately, I still have a few just "hanging around"

I’ve owned the Alpha, Assault II, and now the Helo. Very happy with my Helo purchase!

I’ve been using a LW Assault 2 w/ 4 Muddy Pro sticks for 9 seasons. I absolutely love this set-up. I have modified it a bit also.

I’ve owned the Alpha and the Assault. Sold the Alpha. The Assault is perfect for me because by the time I’m doing longer sits during rut, I’m in my Millenniums that are hung in the summer. My Assault is for early season mobile hunts.

I’ve ran the lone wolf the last few years. Haven’t had any issues. The platform is clutch on long days.

Is anyone gonna talk about the fact that when you call Novix they answer the phone Lone Wolf? I bought a Novix Echo and was missing some parts. Called them and was SHOCKED!...not really. The Novix Echo and Lone Wolf Alpha look identical and use all the same exact hardware. Novix is just less expensive, for now. I love my Novix so far and look forward to using it a lot this year.

Last year I hunted with a Novix Echo but wanted something a little lighter and more streamlined for hang and hunt, so I ordered the Helo. The platform seemed even smaller stepping on 20 ft up, though! Thankfully the guy with Lone Wolf/Novix told me the Assault2 weighed only a pound more. Bungee sticks and a pack on, and the difference is barely noticeable. The Assault’s platform bowholder holds my Bowtech, too, so the Helo had to go. Hunters wanted something lighter so Novix did what they could with a 300 lb rating.

The Assault is the OG of mobile stands.

Zarr, do you or have you ever changed the support cables on that stand?

    • @bowhuntordie
      @bowhuntordie  3 роки тому +1

Nope. I've never changed the cables on any of my Lone Wolf stands and I've had some of them going on 15 years. I give them all a good review before the season to make sure they're not rusted or worn. Never had an issue yet.

Are these comfortable enough for all day sits? I’ve seen some reviews on the forums that say they are not. People say millennium stands are much more comfy

Millenium m25s are my favorite for stationary sets that stay up all year

Did the price of the Helo go up $100 in one year? They're selling for $339 now

That's what happens when rich people pay $500 for a beast stand or LWCG. Glad I got my Alpha 2 a couple years ago

Lone Wolf is now Novix though right? The Assult 2 isn't available now....the Helo took its place or am I wrong.

You better believe that the original Lone Wolf company is now done for and is now called Novix. And boy am I glad that I got my Alpha 2 when it was only $250 at Scheels. Now your only option is the Echo which is like $350!! Or you could go the cheaper china XoP route and even those are over $200 now, but they are good stands, just slightly heavier. I think once Novix (lone wolf treestands) saw what guys were paying for Beast Stands ($500) and Lone Wolf Custom Gear (same price damn near). Oh Boy!! "Oh guys will pay $500 for a stand, let's mark it up gentlemen,. Let's charge $350. Lmfao. Glad I got my Alpha II 2 years ago. Same with the climbing sticks

My question is how people can afford a stand that costs over $200 for just the stand, that's not counting climbing sticks.

    • @joshanderson1901

Budget accordingly - work a few extra hours if need be. It's actually quite simple when you think about it.

@@joshanderson1901 My point is why would I pay over $200 for a stand when I can get one for $100 or less that performs the exact same job. I've never been able to justify that. I've built most of my own stands out of aluminum or steel anyway.

    • @gregbowen9546

$200 for a stand that will or should last you a lifetime! Don't sound bad at all to me. Look how much a cell phone or a vehicle cost that last 10yrs if your lucky.

@@JoeMartin007 sorry, I was just answering your question on how people can afford a $200+ stand. My questions to you: is that $100 stand light weight like these $200+ stands? Is that $100 stand have expanded metal/mesh tack welded in 3 spots which causes major creaking noise when the temperature drops below 50 degrees? Is that $100 stand highly adjustable for crooked trees? I'd bet you couldn't find a $100 stand in the marketplace right now.

    • @johnnyrotten9757

@@joshanderson1901 exactly! That $100 stand will weigh 16-17 lbs & will rust out in 4 or 5 years. I'm not knocking them because I still use several for some of my traditional rut spots that I put up in late summer & leave all fall. But for hauling in & out daily there is no comparison.
