Instead of messing with the cylinder you can buy a tool which is probably what he did. OTC Tools 6710. It sits in where the pump is. As you rotate the engine it will sit flush when it's in the correct position.
I have no engine light or codes or running bad. I do have fuel dripping out the back of the engine. I think it's been apart before and they didn't replace the high pressure lines. You think that's what could be leaking? Does the fuel pump ever leak externally? I'm just trying to narrow this down to a couple of items before I tear it down so I know what I'm running into as far as cost. Thanks for any input.
Awesome video! I need help. I am getting a steady 45 psi on my car 2011 suburban 5.3. I feel like its dumping fuel because my fuel gauge goes down more than normal. I see everyone else mention 50 to 60 at the rails but i am using my expensive x431 scan tool to check everything. All of a sudden after 1 month of using e85 its been extremely bad. Fuel gauge drops fast. I cant find no wet fuel leaks by the engine compartment. My mpg normal at 15 to 18. Now feels like 6. I am also using a scan gauge to read the mpgs and its not bad hwy is 18mpg both dash and scan gaugeii. What the hell is there a small leak some where only when its on?
See the video prior to this one on my channel! The diagnosis is a separate video, common fuel trim codes that will usually appear confirming the failure of the pump!
Is it a dealer part?, because I'm not finding it on any auto parts websites, maybe I'm not calling it by the correct name, what would it be called besides high pressure fuel pump?
Took me a couple hours to get those back cover clips off 💀
You mentioned that it needed to be on top dead center but you didnt put finding TDC in the video at all. So did you do it?

The first video mentions the PIP from GM. Do you know the PIP that’s referenced?
Where are you located? I rather have you do it lol
Minnesota brother!
Does anyone know where the fuel pressure regulator is located? My 2015 Silverado 5.3L just gave me code p228D which is the fuel pressure regulator
Needs diagnosis. Most likely needs a HPFP!

There's 2 sensors not just 1 this is high pressure fuel rail pressure sensor, also he took alot of unnecessary steps
how much do it cost at the dealer to replace?
james walton, i just got it priced at the dealer since mine went out recently. for my dealer to buy everything and install was $960 + tax.
How did you know this was the problem? Any symptoms
