- In the first of a new three-part video series, we're back in Hannah Waddingham's dressing room to witness our Wicked Witch of the West as she gets ready for Act Two, where she performs 'Red Shoes Blues' in the Witch's Castle, one of the new songs written for this production by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.

The Wizard of Oz is a musical based on the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, with a book adapted by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Jeremy Sams. The musical uses the Harold Arlen and E. Y. Harburg songs from the film and includes some new songs and additional music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and additional lyrics by Tim Rice.
After previews in the West End from 7 February, the musical opened on 1 March 2011, directed by Jeremy Sams, and closed on 2 September 2012. The original cast included Danielle Hope as Dorothy Gale, Michael Crawford as the Wizard and Hannah Waddingham as the Wicked Witch of the West. Sophie Evans played Dorothy on Tuesday evenings and took over the role full-time in February 2012. The role of Dorothy was cast through the 2010 reality television show Over the Rainbow, in which Hope won and Evans was the runner-up. After a similar Canadian reality TV search show, a Toronto production began in December 2012 and closed in August 2013, and was followed by a North American tour.
I also love the part where Hannah says she has to sometimes go on UA-cam and watch videos of herself doing the makeup to remind herself how she does it.....hilarious!!!!!
In Wicked, the actress is green from the start.
In Wizard of Oz, the actress is Miss Gulch then she has to undergo the transformation to the witch in 7 minutes. The green paint will take way too long to apply and if they did use paint, the chin and nose pieces would absorb the color.

Sorry to mention wicked but, their greening system works so well! Why not just copy them? Haha! Love the big pointy nose and chin though!

I hate quick changes! And you get sprayed green, poor Elphaba in Wicked has to be painted haha xx
@EntertainmentAddams They've said in earlier vids that they can't do the makeup like they use in Wicked because of the prosthetic nose and chin. They soak up too much of that makeup and it doesn't look even so they have to use this kind that sprays on.

@EntertainmentAddams they cant. did you watch the other videos? it explains that they cant use the elphie pint bcause it wont cover the prosthetic, and it takes waaaaay too long too apply, she has to change from being miss gulch to WWotW in 7 minutes i think
