I had a Scimitar from New in 1972 I loved it. Swapped it four years later for a Ferrari 365 GTB. In my opinion, the Scimitar was a better car to drive and certainly more practical. Now retired I am thinking about briefly revisiting these youthful days and buying a nicely refurbished Scimitar. How good it would have been to have started this video with the car lifted into the air and to have had an idea of the situation, quality and state of all the things undernneath after fifty years of belting along British roads?
Wonderful, the main conundrum being would the improvements to earlier models, particularly with regard to a galvanised chassis outweigh the requirement for pricey road tax. I myself pay a fair lump for a 1997 turbo diesel and don't do many miles per year but I do at least get well over 55 mpg.
Supposedly has hundreds of upgrades on the Reliant SE6b, I cant see many changes. Looks like my old Reliant Scimitar, apart from engine and bigger wheels. Too pricey to be competetive which killed Middlebridge off. Even so, I would like one. If only there was a Middlebridge GTC?
The Middlebridge Scimitar cost a fortune when new, probably why they went bust very quickly. It is just a tarted up Reliant Scimitar which was great back in 1968 but by 1989 was horribly outdated.. Shame the didnt do a GTC version, I would have that.
The Scimitar was a nice car but being hand built was too expensive. Similar to a Ford Capri 3 litre but twice the price. Middlebridge was even more expensive still.
My Dad owned a 1971 model Reliant Scimitar GTE, i never realised that they made modern versions of the Scimitar in the late 80s.
Had my GTC engine rebuilt by these chaps .. runs like a swiss watch 😊 Great blokes to deal with 👍

What a beautiful car. Must be one of the last? Would love to own this.
Given a choice between that and the Trotters independent trading Co van I know which I would go for.

I wonder how much removing the spare tyre from under the bonnet would affect the handling and speed(?)
Lovely car
How much was it sold for?

Didn’t Princess Anne have one of these? 🤔 😉
Jensen Interceptor I believe
She had nine in total over the years!
Shame no leather crème, base spec does not suit this brand. Still great looking classic.

Too........many...................pauses.
Seriously! This is why you need to think about what you're going to say before you press record.
Bloody awful car at launch and even worse now, pig!
Sorry you feel that way. I guess older cars aren't to everyone's taste.
Clearly you've never owned one.
