As someone who watched more shoujo/josei as a teen and CRAVES good Josei now as an adult, I would say a good candidate for Josei anime is either Natsuyuki Rendevous or Sakamichi no Apollon. If you haven't seen these already, you're in for a treat. Otona Joshi no Anime Time and Love is Hard For an Otaku are short but I liked them alot as well.
Thanks for your thoughts. Josei is my favorite demographic of anime and manga. The art direction for many titles is very avantgarde. I especially like horror.
Your voice is very pleasant, so the video was very nice to watch :) It's true that it's kinda hard to describe the genre! I was shocked when I found out osomatsu San is a josei series , I really thought it was seinen, because it's about problems of adult male characters haha
I'm not as familiar with Josei, but there's a few good series not mentioned. Anime: - Paradise Kiss - Gokusen - Petshop of Horrors - Kids on the Slope - 07 Ghost Karneval was made into a one season anime, but Imma be honest. I didn't really like it that much. Same with Princess Jellyfish, which is a very unpopular opinion. I really just didn't like the series that much. Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits was also very bad. Some manga that weren't adapted: - Don't Call it Mystery: it got a live action, but not an anime. Which is weird. It literally has 19 million copies sold, with over million copies per volume. It's funny, and sad, how a Shonen anime with 3 million sales gets an anime adaptation, but a Josei with 19 million doesn't get one. - Helter Skelter, Pink, and River's Edge by Kyoko Okazaki - Dame na Watashi ni Koishite Kudasai - Oishii Kankei: I will say that this isn't as good as the other manga. Mostly because it had a very good start, but went off the rails.
So shounen is for young boysm Seinen for adult men? Shojo for young girls? And Josen for adult women? Anime is weird for outsiders trying to dip their toes into it :0
@@BlockyAnime The C-Drama combines romance, action and fantasy, while the K-Drama combines modern Fantasy, Comedy and Romance, knowing that the Josei are usually only romance, it is normal that it does not interest the adult female audience, and shoujo still has this problem I have lost a lot of public thanks to the Rise of Western Youth Literature that Combines Science Fiction, Mystery, Drama, Fantasy, Action and Romance, when you don't get what you want you look for other media and Japan was far behind in capturing the female audience, I remember that shoujo had fantasy and adventure environments in the 90s, then it was filled with school romance and variety was left behind. Many mistakes have been made with this specific demographic and that is why shoujo has lost its audience, I can only blame anime industry executives who honestly don't know what girls like
Yeah that's very true a lot of modern stuff especially has a problem with feeling very similar to each other with only a few differences between them. However I don't think that means that there is nothing good or that Japan can't capture that audience I think it is just very different. Especially in the Josei demographic which largely gets ignored by both creators and executives. But yes K-drama's and C-drama's are often better written or more compelling in many ways.
@@BlockyAnime It is a chicken and the egg problem, basically when you do not find what you are looking for you look for other alternatives and when a work of this type comes out it does not receive support because all the audience you wanted to get has gone to other entertainment media, therefore the companies They do not take risks in a product that will not have an objective audience and thus the cycle repeats, women sometimes exaggerate that they do not have representation in the entertainment media but in the particular case of anime here they are right, I do not think there is a medium with less female representation than current anime, video games for example, despite being very masculine, female representation is much better than in current anime
@daniibanea6773 Yeah I agree anime is in a bit of a conundrum with that problem for sure other media are better at representing women. But I do genuinely feel like anime has been taking a step forward in that regard in the past few years.

I haven't seen those thanks for recommendations I will definitely check them out
A lot of josei are also only read online especially those from kodansha.

Josei is my favorite demographic tbh, by far my highest rated

Correctomundo
The only josei i get is the ones in the smut genre.
the only josei anime ive heard of are chihayafuru, shirakuma cafe and honey and clover
C-Drama And K-Drama They have long won over the adult female audience
I fully agree with this as an avid enjoyer of many great romance webtoons however I think there are loads of good josei series out there as well

josei manga is waste of money. women doesn't like to read mangas or watching animes without their boyfriends. it's also the lowest in the hierarchy.
I do
