this is canonically accurate. we see in a flashback scene that ashley is unerring towards scary/gory movies. plus, the restaurant setting could very well take place in between the events of chapter 1 & 2, where the siblings are out and about, eating at buffets. (i have no explanation for their mom being the waiter. it could very well be a doppelganger, or her. who knows!?)

Exactly my thought, like there's no anime sweat or panicked expression, he's just like "nah, I like her she's cool" with a nice wholesome smile.

There's so many little details that I had to watch 4 times, amazing work.
Andrew might not realize it but he's also bat shit crazy.
Ashley is psychopathic so she doesn't feel empathy, so she's much crazier than Andrew, but hes also crazy. Also, as much as he denies it, you can see throughout the game that his care for Ashley is definitely over the top for just taking care of his little sister
That's no ordinary sibling relationship.

I disagree in the point that she doesn't possess any kind of empathy.
If you follow the "good" path, she begins to worry about her brother when he begun to trust and support her.
After she caused a emotional manipulation in this weird emotion world, she even asked about his mentally condition and if he had any nightmares in the past which seem now not be a problem anymore.
Hell, she even started to respect him and stopped to call him Andy anymore.
You could say that this toxic decision to alter the emotions, so that they would love to each other, was ironically the best decision to mantain their sanity and turned them into better people. At least to a certain degree.
Ashley gives probably still a shit about people but her brother, but she seems to be at least more sympathic to him.
That was my impression about the good path at least.
With the rest I agree though.
Andrew is also obssessed about his sister if only not in such a madness like her. But he was still ready to chop of the guard's when he found Ashley. And that all because of protective feelings.
The mom tells him she won’t help him on the phone, then shows up to help him. Canon.

It is impressive that Nemlei takes concepts that at first sound like those of an ugly creppypasta and turns them into a very interesting story with well-structured characters and how I love the character Ashley and the Development of her brother and how little by little she drags him along to madness and how he ends it either by killing her or by fucking her,

I feel like if it were Sunny and Mari instead then they wouldn’t have done any of the messed up things that Andrew & Ashley did in the game. Mari seems to be very mentally stable.

It makes sense for them both to like Bluey. Bandit and Chilli Heeler are the kind of parents that Andy and Leyley probably grew up wishing they had.
I love this series. The horrid torture you can put andrew through is like dining on the best red wine while eating a medium rare 10oz wagyu sirloin while wearing a tux. The high functioning sociopath and his genuine psycopathic little sister is the kind of fiendish main characters im about.
I'd say that Ashley is the sociopath, because sociopaths are typically more impulsive and impatient than psychopaths.

This has quickly become my favorite TCOAAL edit I've found so far! Not only was it my introduction to this banger of a song, but I LOVE the art and animation, it's so cute and fits all the character's perfectly. Andrew's expressions, Ashley's expressions, their mom being the waiter, it's all so perfect.
