The first Underwater St Johns adventure made angling history in Underwater 7 and landing the lake’s biggest resident, The Big Plated, was a euphoric moment for Team Korda. However, Underwater 8, which was filmed during the same session, reaches new heights and breaks even more ground on our underwater journey!
New methods are tested; tactics such as solid bags and pop-ups are used for the very first time, alongside many more eye-opening approaches. The lads take an amazing haul of fish culminating in yet ANOTHER 40lb carp, making Underwater 8 the pinnacle of our work in this area.

Mat Gilbert nah good clever rig but we have all done it, seen a rig in a magazine tried it and caught on it but it doesn’t mean it’s not you’re fish just because you didn’t invent the rig you caught it on
mark gilbert dan placed the rod cast the rod its dans rod ect ect Elliot just told him to try a new rig If you brought a pre tied rig from shop and catch on it does that mean it’s the shops fish.
Exactly why didn't they let Elliott cast it in if it was his rig like they have done the rest of the cast on the film.

Well done lads I would like to see you in the next series The chod rig and the Ronnie rig used also a rig that I have had thousands of fishing on is simply 20lb to 25lb of Daiwa sensor with a dental floss hair. And most effective with dental floss hair A rig that I've used since Daiwa sensor was put on the market you might be surprised how hard it is to see it on the bottom due to the colour. These videos are giving us a great insight to what really happened and how often we are mugged off but I'm sure it will make a lot of people want to give up fishing together lol

I think for next DVD it will be good to test single different bait put in feeding spot or margin but without rig or on the rig but just without hook too see if and how much it makes difference in taking the bait. I wonder why they didn't try something like this before. Also they could put 2 or 3 different hook baits at the same time just to see if fish will prefer one. Anyway good videos.

Why the hell are landing nets 6 feet deep? This is getting ridiculous!
Awesome video here with some really useful information and you are concerned with the size of the net? You're focused on the wrong part of the video dude. A big net is useful however for when you need to hold a fish in there while you prepare the matt, sling and scales, gives it more room to recover and pump oxygen through its gills, when the fish is big then recovery is vital because it can take more out of them.
I'd like to see a video under water to see if they spit out bait thats not hooked up to know whether it's actually the carp knowing there's a hook in there or whether the carp do this with all baits anyway.

What’s the reason for putting foam around the hook? So it doesn’t snag? Does the foam come off naturally?
It is foam that dissingrates in the water so it can fall to the fall without getting all tangled and it represented well
I find it crazy how there’s never much bite indication on alarm or bobbin ! Even when a fish is bolting it with the rig... how slack are they fishing? With out the camera they wouldn’t even know they had a fish on

Kane Hammondd no it’s where they’re not lifting the sling higher than it needs to be. So if it does slip on the scales, it doesn’t fall out the air & back onto the mat

I think Ali using the running rig, with nothing for lead to set the hook for 1.5ft, does more harm than good.. Fair play when it worked, it worked well. But, in my opinion it cost him three fish that that had the hook in their mouth.
i have a question. obviously, there's been a lot of fish mouthing the hook bait which has shown how much it must happen during an ormal session. My question is, was the alarm picking up on these touches at all? the programming doesn't seem to show whether or not this is happening or not.

If the lead doesn't move the alarms won't tell you anything. Also depending on what your mainline (mono is worst for indication/braid is best) is, how far out you've cast and how much slack you've got in the line you might not hear a peep until it's moved about a foot or so. Have a look at the Underwater Answers videos on the Fox International page for more detailed answers.
Can someone explain why they wouldn’t fish the bank right over the area they’re baiting instead of casting 50 yards or whatever? Is it not to spook the fish by being right over the swim their fishing?

First of all, congratulations for another such successful film. Would it be possible, what is the model of the underwater camera?
And again is not about the pink color but is about all the goo that the boilies are infuse with, so attract the carp... that boilie could be any color.
Next time you show underwater footage, could you fish a live worm threaded on the hair with a pop-up pellet; same rigs, I just want to see how fish respond in a pressured swim to a natural offering? I can't see why fish would refuse it.

Don’t get me wrong, the whole operation here is to test rigs and fish behaviour, catching the 2 of the biggest carp in the lake doesn’t really count 100% for dan/Korda because it’s. it fished under normal circumstances like me and you fish if we turned up to St. John’s.

Why no long shank hooks? (Non curved) These are basically the same rigs past 3 films
Start using stiffer materials aswell
This will be a much better investigation into rig mechanics
If memory serves me right the first under water DVD he used long shanks with stiffer material and a 100% result
So why not try them again and other variations of long shank hooks and stiffer materials

I don't know if it is just me but Hamidi needs to sort his morals and his manners out. Hes a great angler but getting way to big for his size 5s.
