I think mainly due to the fact Lang and K are pretty much OGs on NP they've been around for a long time so they have a built up rep as well their characters have developments, they're just funny as hell too whenever they talk like that to people shits funny and other people think its hilarious LMAO

The way Marty acted when Lang said Flash is a captain was crazy. Flash does more for the crew than anybody. Not to mention he has the most dangerous responsibility of cleaning money. Flash is the reason everyone got caught up with getting paid.
Not even the most but he literally does what ever he is asked no question. While Marty and Larry are trying to do stuff solely to try and get promoted.

Marty was in line to be made a captain, and then had to take a small break for an OOC situation. Everything after that is just them goofin.
By all intents and purposes he is, just without the official/in writing title.
