HOLY SHIT. CONSIDER ME A LIFE TIME SUBSCRIBER. I'm literally crying. I just bought Pigments and 2 days later found generative music. Then 1 day later I see this video. I love you bro. I love this shit. Mind blown. Keep doing what you're doing!
Love the quantising element of Pigments. I worked on a few of the presets for Uhe's Hive 2 and this feature is a big part of that instrument too. It's an aspect modular synthesis that I'm glad to see being adopted on more "conventional" VSTs. Nice work here.
... sold! Why did I invest so much in eurorack...i must not be stupid but surely a fool. Thankyou for the demonstration 😁. We surely need more of you on UA-cam
Very nice. While watching your video i think about getting it more complex by setting up several instances of Pigments and control/trigger/sync them by some outside (DAW) modulation. I would like to see more on that topic.
Pigments is a pretty amazing synth. I really appreciate this demonstration of using it for generative music. It's inspiring to see some of what can be done with the Random section of the program.
Thank you! It certainly is impressive, and I'm barely scratching the surface. Next up is to look at triggering random sources from things other than the clock.
ditto last comment about discovering your channel! Just dl'd the big Pig & your vid very well informs my many new generative journeys w/it, thanks/cheers
I just bought Pigments last week, as I already had the Analogue Studio suite.... It was on sale, and I had seen a demo on another site, and it looked interesting..... Now I am really glad I got it, as your video showed me more of what can be done, this is awesome.... Loved what you came up with.... New Subscriber now!!! Well done...
Fantastic ! More tutorials please. Just purchased PIGMENTS and I love it. It seems cleaner and has more features than Ominisphere and Serum. I have number of sytnhs but this one becomes my favorite, just need to learn more how to utilize all its features.
Excellent video. As an alternative to relatively complex setups in Ableton, Pigments is perhaps better suited as an environment for generative music and has so many possibilities. Looking forward to experimenting with recorded samples also. Thanks for the preset too
Thank you! I'm glad it was helpful. Pigments is not as flexible as some of the things you can do in M4L or modular but you can still do some amazing things within its limits.
Thanks. Unfortunately not, all the pitches are computed in Pigments from the single input pitch. You might be able to put a pitch-to-midi plugin on the output and work it out that way?
Just downloaded Pigments a few days ago and youtube brought up your video while viewing the Obscura pedal which I also have. Thank you so much for your demo, a perfect tutorial! Do you know if one can do the same on a Microfreak? Apologies for being late to class. =)
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. The MicroFreak isn't fully generative but it does have some cool features to introduce randomness and variety into sequences using the Spice and Dice functions. Have fun!

Haha, thanks! Enjoy Pigments, there's loads to discover...
Best video on generative + pigments 💥🙌 thanks a lot!
You are a natural at explaining things. Thanks for this.

Thanks! I didn't know Hive could do it too. I'm so glad to see more creatively interesting features working their way into VSTs lately.
Brilliant! Thanks so much for this wealth of information and ideas.

Haha, thanks! I'm slowly getting the hang of this UA-cam business. I haven't gone near Eurorack yet... 💸
@@morayonkeys Big help sir . Pigment bought . And you have my Sub .
Thank you! Hope you have fun with it 🙂

Great tutorial.. Best I've seen on pigments.. Thanks..
I plan on picking this up soon, great demonstration of it's power.
even more possibilities now in the sequencer
This is pretty awesome demonstration of ideas! Thank you!
Excellent video. Wow. Thank you so much.

Great video! I'd love to see more tricks on pigments from you in the future.
Thanks! I've got more planned, just need time to film them...
What kind of magic is this? Great tutorial, mate! I've subscribed!

Thanks! Glad it was useful 😊
Great tips and demonstration👍🏼
Thank you!

Well done!
Cool. Thank you.

Terrific! Thanks for sharing this.

Dayum!
Great video Moray, thanks.
Are you able to capture the randomised midi notes? When I tried I was only capturing the single note I was pressing.
Thanks. Unfortunately not, all the pitches are computed in Pigments from the single input pitch. You might be able to put a pitch-to-midi plugin on the output and work it out that way?

I do not have the Turing listed as Gate Sorce for Env2. Is this different Pigment2 versions or is it a setting I forget?
I haven't played with Pigments 2 yet so it probably is different.
7000000000 thumbs up
👍
Interesting. Did you have to hold a key down all the time?
You do. I'm holding it down with the sustain pedal for this video to keep my hands free!
