Hi Jo so nice to hear someone from the uk especially who doesn't make "long" wind out of everything. Thought your tutorial was excellent and going to put it into practice. Thanks once again Sylvie x
Hi Sylvie, thanks for your lovely comment. I have watched some videos on UA-cam that made we want to say "just get on with it" so it's nice to hear that you don't find me long winded! Just wondered where you are, as you say "someone from the uk"
You are terrific!!! I have lots and lots of scraps and my family think I'm nuts saving them. Haha..little do they know I have found you....... thanks so much for sharing...
Just came across your video, you have inspired me so much, can't wait to start my own projects. I very much like your style of teaching is very comprehensive.
+Anthony Laderman Hi thanks for your comments, glad you like my teaching style. I have a recent video on UA-cam on how to create "fairy" bowls from water soluble fabric which you might like to have a look at.
Do I see wine bottles on the background shelf? I had to laugh. This is like Julia Child cooks fabric! She also suffered for her art via tippling while cooking. Love your video!
Just the video Needed like you I collect every bit of fabric and thread I have bags full and was wondering what to do with it all and now I have found your video it's great thank you very good clear instructions with good details 🌼
Oh Joe I m so excited, I watched your video some time ago and finally got the materials together and today have made my first piece of fabric with scraps and the Bondaweb. SO, SO excited it looks fantastic. Thank you so very very much. Margaret
Hi Heidi, thanks for your comment, will soon have to suffer some more with Christmas happening in just over a week! Planning to have my own UA-cam channel soon with more workshops and courses.
Well now you can tell them you have a use for all those bits and pieces. Also check out my video on using water soluble fabric and scraps to make bowls.
I laughed at your comment of suffering through eating the chocolates for the sweets wrappers. Very cool project. Can't wait to try this. Thank you for the video.
have been making things with this and similar methods since the 1960's. everything old is new again. Just didn't have the fusibles back then and had to sew everything in place. and yes, used netting to cover it and burlap as a base.
oh I am so so glad I found you on here... this is a wonderful thing.. thank you for sharing... I will be doing this with my grandkids as they all want to do stuff with me... this is ideal for the boys too.. :)
Hi Vanessa, so glad you like the video and would love to see what you and the grandchildren produce. I have just recorded the first in a series of videos entitled "Crafts in the kitchen", The first is on how to make paper beads and should be online very soon so please like and subscribe to my channel.
What a great idea for all those wraps, but 🍬🍫 adds a sweet touch, color, creativity and become a piece of art Thanks for sharing, I think I am going to buy more chocolate and I have a good reason !😘😘😘😘😘
"you don't want to put anything too thick into your sandwich because you don't want to make life hard for yourself, later on". Very good life advice, too! quite wonderful, how wisdom springs forth, playing with bits and pieces. :-)
I also save my paper towel pieces from dying fabrics and whatnot...when using these scraps in this project, and then using the fabric piece we create-will it be safe to launder it? I'm worried about the paper pieces disintegrating in the wash. Also, how do you advise laundering this type of created fabric? Thank you for your time and for showing this technique! God bless and have a glitter filled day!😀🍬🍭🍫
Andrea Akuhata-Morten Hi Andrea, well it's a tough job eating all those chocolates but some-one has to do it! Hope you like the video, hope to be posting more soon on different techniques
Good on ya for taking one for the team... I'm off to find those damn chockies I went & hid from myself.... better to suffer for my art, than just suffer coz I can't eat thay bloody disappearing chockolats!! ;)
Hello again Jo well I have taken a photo but cannot for the life of me get it here, will put it on my Facebook page Margaret Stanney x another one nearly done, will be making book covers for presents for next year. Thank you so very much xx
Have you ever heard of temporary spray? I think if you used it on the backing, it would make it sticky, and you wouldn’t even need to bother with the web. Much quicker, and it kind of disappears with air or washing.
+Patricia Anderson Thanks Patricia, would love to see photos of anything you make using this technique. I have a Facebook page Knit One Weave One where you could post them
Hi, Jo. Thanks for mentioning that the organza is synthetic, because I was wondering. How about the felt? Synthetic or wool? Or does it matter? I like your technique and would like to give it a try.
Hi Ann, the background fabric doesn't have to be felt, it can be any fabric. I used synthetic felt just because it was what I had to hand and is easy to work with. Have fun!
+MsOscara Hi I normally just use the felt I have in my stash, which might be wool felt or acrylic felt. Sometimes I might use some wool blanked that I have dyed.

Oh Joe I m so excited, I watched your video some time ago and finally got the materials together and today have made my first piece of fabric with scraps and the Bondaweb. SO, SO excited it looks fantastic. Thank you so very very much. Margaret

Hi Deborah, thanks for your comments.x
You had me the moment you said "Random, it goes w/ your personality & suffering for your art!" I drive my family nuts w/ all the bits & pieces I save!
Well now you can tell them you have a use for all those bits and pieces. Also check out my video on using water soluble fabric and scraps to make bowls.

What a great idea for all those wraps, but 🍬🍫 adds a sweet touch, color, creativity and become a piece of art
Thanks for sharing, I think I am going to buy more chocolate and I have a good reason !😘😘😘😘😘

Good use for all the edges trimmed when squaring up quilt squares.

"All those pieces you've thrown away, you'll be wishing you would have kept"... oh my, ain't that the truth!
"you don't want to put anything too thick into your sandwich because you don't want to make life hard for yourself, later on". Very good life advice, too! quite wonderful, how wisdom springs forth, playing with bits and pieces. :-)

That's so fantastic!!!!!!! Love ❤️ it, I'm definitely going to try this out thank you so much 😊
Hi Mags, hope you have fun.
I agree, you can never have too much glitter!
Absolutely beautiful and well described tutorial.
I also save my paper towel pieces from dying fabrics and whatnot...when using these scraps in this project, and then using the fabric piece we create-will it be safe to launder it? I Love the color of your hair.
"suffer for your art"... i love it ;o)
Andrea Akuhata-Morten Hi Andrea, well it's a tough job eating all those chocolates but some-one has to do it! Hope you like the video, hope to be posting more soon on different techniques
How very pretty. Now where did I put that bondaweb I wonder! Thank you x
+Kathy Gledsdale Hi Kathy, have fun!x
It's very nice but not exactly frugal is it ? you have to provide a backing piece, the Bondaweb and organza for the top.
Thank you for a most excellent video!
Karen A. Scofield Glad you enjoyed it, love to see the results of what you make it following my video.
Good on ya for taking one for the team... I'm off to find those damn chockies I went & hid from myself.... better to suffer for my art, than just suffer coz I can't eat thay bloody disappearing chockolats!! ;)

Thank you for sharing this. It is very interesting and useful.
Hi, hope you have fun recycling your scraps.
Have you ever heard of temporary spray? I think if you used it on the backing, it would make it sticky, and you wouldn’t even need to bother with the web. Much quicker, and it kind of disappears with air or washing.
Hi Charlene, yes have heard of temporary spray, will give this technique a try using it, thanks for the idea
Thank you, very creative!
+Patricia Anderson Thanks Patricia, would love to see photos of anything you make using this technique. I have a Facebook page Knit One Weave One where you could post them
love, love, love your dress
Claudia Smith Hi Claudia, it is from a company called Tall Yarns and Tales
Love this video!
Excellent Modmousile.
hi i was just wondering if i wanted to not have organza on top, is that possible? or do i need the organza on top for it to work? thank you
Спасибо! Отличная идея!)))
Unfortunately I have no idea what you have said but hope you enjoyed the video.
Jo McIntosh she said: thank you. great idea
Have fun!
Thanks, Jo!
So th3 base fabric has to be thick?
This looks like a lot of fun! Thank you :) wondering if you are from Yorkshire?!
mellibee100 Hi, thanks for your comment, it is indeed fun and yes I am from Yorkshire!
Hi Jo, I'd love to have a go at this but the Bondaweb I have is stuck to greaseproof paper - can you get it without a backing?
Very creative.
Nice
Glitter never stays on n makes a mess
Hi Connie, you can always use Angelina fibres instead of glitter. You need to use the baking parchment on top, not a cloth
Love your hair
Beenthere Donethat j
Love it 😍
Fantastic
Thank you. : )
Very good 👏👏👏👏
Good
Just realised I CAN peel the bondaweb off - silly me!
Sometimes it isn't easy to get the Bondaweb off the backing paper. Hope you had fun with it.
Yes, I did, thank you Jo.
Did you use a wool felt backing or so-called "craft" felt?
+MsOscara Hi I normally just use the felt I have in my stash, which might be wool felt or acrylic felt. Sometimes I might use some wool blanked that I have dyed.
MsOscara .
awesome
very interesting
Me encantó
Can't you cover with a cloth then iron so you don't touch the web
Hi Connie, you put the sheer fabric on top and then place the piece in between 2 pieces of baking parchment to iron so you don't touch the Bondaweb
Ask just to soon lolol
🌺💕🌹❤️
A
that voice, really? nice fabrics though.
