Such an enlightening episode, good job. Brewers are so diverse, never just the beer but also the culture that they foster. Always a surprise when you get to know them.
Khris is such a passionate beer advocate. He's also one of the instructors in the Brewing Arts program at the USF St Pete campus. I learned quite a bit from him.
Being born and raised in Tampa, I feel obligated to say this: it’s awesome that you guys came all the way from England to Tampa Bay to check out our craft beer scene! I worked at a brewery in Clearwater (Big Storm Brewery) and had the opportunity to meet Khris & he’s a great guy. I’m a little disappointed that y’all didn’t check out the breweries in Tampa as well our amazing downtown attractions like Riverwalk and Armature Works , which in turn helped revamp St. Pete’s downtown. Anyways still amazing that y’all came to such a local brewery blows my mind! Keep up the good work!
Definitely the best brewery tour/video on this channel. This brewer/owner is extremely passionate and is a great advocate for craft brewing and the community it can develop
I hardly never comment a video on UA-cam but this time it worths it. First I must say that I watch most of the videos of the channel, except the ones based on tasting or similar. I personally prefer to enjoy a beer than watching guys doing while my fridge is sadly packed with basic ales. Lastly I found the quality of your videos strongly increased, with all these brewery tours, the great doc you made on New England... Lot of content, not just wanking on juicy beers, or shiny SS tanks, but learning about other brewer’s philosophy, history and path. I watched John Kimmich’s interview twice. So thank you! I went back tonight pretty low after a bad brewing day and others common issues when you work as a brewer but you guys made my whole day. Thanks again and keep on going!
Thanks so much for commenting! Really glad you are enjoying the more documentary side of what we do - comments like this assure us we are doing the right thing. Lots more like this one to come!
Had the same day today. Just a very long day in the brewery, but to have a beer after work and watch a video like this about another brewer just talking about the story of how they came about makes it all just worth it.
I love how Chris is crafting their brand just like their beers. Smart, well-thought-out reason for their "why". Thank you guys for your work on these videos. They get better and better. Well done.
Haha - the whole of Tampa Bay was absolutely amazing. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Amazing food and beer and some of the most incredible beaches I have ever seen.
This is awesome. Looks like another spot to add to ones vacation. Great history and local foundation. Also, where can I get one of their hop lookalike lamps at 18:00? Those are gorgeous! Looks as if someone refurbished a "Kogle" by PH
I was lucky enough to visit St Pete for a few hours back in 2015. Only got to visit Cycle Brewing for a few beers and a growler fill. This place looks absolutely perfect. Two tap rooms with a beautiful outside space. Need to go back. Excellent video! Looking forward to the rest from Florida!!
Very cool place. Never had a want to go to Florida (Other than being from cold Canada, and going there in the winter to keep warm). Green Bench seems like reason enough to me to want to visit St. Pete!
While you're here in Florida come on over to Daytona Beach. I love the Tampa area breweries, but we're spoiled here as well with 8 breweries serving a much smaller population.
@@TheCraftBeerChannel Thought that might be the case, but wanted to extend the invitation. Thanks for visiting and showcasing what is probably the cradle of the Fla craft brewing explosion. Just having a Skyway DIPA and LOVING IT. Are you aware if Cigar City Brewing is no longer “independent”? The Jai Alai tastes way different these days!!
Really awesome! always love mixed fermentation beers! you should really try a tour at Rodenbach in Roeselare Belgium, One of the beer toures I have ever been one. Also I have to tell you.. XD My name is Jonas Karlsen, not Jonas Karlson :P I am Danish not Swedish XD
AH NO! We will amend it for the next video, apologies! We'd love to tour Rodenbach - never even been but it's always been on our bucket list. One day soon.
@@TheCraftBeerChannel I think they mean the thing that holds the cans in a group of 6. In Toronto at least we're attempting to move away from them with single cans, reusable binders, biodegradable binders, or otherwise but it's hard to change the public's mind about things like this.
Possibly the best video so far. Partly down to this brewer, his clear vision, clarity of thought and openness. Desperately want to visit now!
Thanks so much! It's always great to get an interviewee who is so open and eloquent

That was incredibly interesting and informative. What a great spokesman for beer and brewing.

Thanks Omkar! We were flown over by the St Pete tourist board so had to stick to their area, but hopefully will come back one day!

Love this video, guys. Can't wait to get to St. Pete (once travel is safe, post COVID) and check out Green Bench!
Us too!

Looks incredible, really bold brewery knowing what they want to do and just doing it. Cool stuff and as usual good production from you guys.
Cheers! Indeed - brave but with a plan is what breweries need to be these days, it's tough out there.
Awesome video and for me by far your best one
Cheers Kelvin!

Such a great video. I'll never get tired of hearing how pioneer brewers introduced communities to craft beer.
And khris did it RIGHT. Inspirational place
Awesome video guys
Since I found this channel I have learned so much about Beer and the love brewers have for their creation.
What an amazing guy, really made me want to go to Florida, which says a lot!

Absolutely brilliant guys and what a great host that dude is.
This is cool. Brew tours are always fun and exciting. My fiance and I did a walking brew tour in DT Denver which was awesome.
My favorite brewery in FL. Super underrated. Absolutely beautiful space and incredible beer.
Are they underrated out there? Criminal. Their beer is stellar.

2 more vids to come! Popped via Cycle and loved the taproom.
Really good video. As a brewer myself, I hope the chance comes one day to travel or work at one of these breweries in the US. Keep it up gents
This is such a cool look into the brewery and the history. I really need to make a trip to Tampa now
Oh dudes, I love Green Bench! It's such a cool and relaxed place to just sit, chill, and have some brews. Sunshine City IPA is one of my go-tos
That's such a great beer - and their mixed ferm beers like Alice were world class too

Just great!
Brilliant with each mini doco you guys keep raising the bar ( pun intended) 🍺🍺
that got really deep towards the end, love it. Beer can unite the world, let's all get rid of our nuclear warheads
Amen to that. Beer can solve everything
Incidentally, ‘Let’s all get rid of our nuclear warheads’ is a great name for a beer. I reckon a 3% session pale ale?
Great video! Awesome story!

How do american breweries still get away with those plastic binder things when UK public has shunned them
Which plastic binders?

Wine geeks...?
