Gert your playing is such a joy to my ears! I have to live vicariously by listening to great organs and organists ever since being attacked by a crazy man some sixty-two years ago and losing most of the use of the middle, ring and little fingers on my right (dominant) hand. Although a brilliant neurosurgeon re-attached my fingers, they remain stiff and the second joint on each is locked and immovable.
Like yourself I'd been playing and studying hard with the goal of becoming a concert organist, but this unfortunately put paid to my plans. Just two weeks prior to the attack I had received an acceptance letter to Julliard.
Just a little over a year from the attack, I resumed my daily four hour practice, but I've never managed to regain much more than 60% of my manual dexterity. Ah well, at least I managed to have a successful career as a teacher of music, so not all was lost!
After recovering from the anesthesia, the surgeon visited with me to offer his prognosis. I looked him in the eyes and asked him if I'd be able to play the organ. He apparently thought I was joking with him when he replied "I'm not falling for that old gag!" When my brother called him aside and explained to him the circumstances, I ended up comforting *him* since he was so upset.
I'm sorry to have waffled on so long, but I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your growing mastery of the organ and the willingness to share your concert snippets.

Thanks Gert, Bach's 'Musical Offering' is rarely heard these days. Excellent transcription from the original forte-piano (new at the time) and a lovely, soulful rendition. You're certainly playing to German tastes - Buxtehude and Bach on the menu.
ah, das musikalische Opfer. Habe das schon lange nicht mehr gehoert. As always, Bach is relentless. He never lets one rest. He is very demanding and the musician better gets used to that. BAch is still my most favorite composer. Loved to play, sing and conduct Bach.

Not only is your music interpretation excellent your posture should be imitated by every organist. It will save you over a long career.
Loved it Gert. Also accolades to you for having your performance displayed on a video screen for the audience. When so many church organs are at the rear of the Nave turning around to see the organist, if in deed he is visible, can be back breaking at least or considered taboo at worst, so providing a tv screen showing the performance is very considerate of you.
