    Thank you so much for this video. The instructions that came with my Omni breeze confused me so much being my first baby carrier I’ve used and now I fully understand thanks to this 🥰

    more helpful than their site/videos, TBH. Would love to see you do a video with the infant insert & Omni Breeze. Can't find a good one to send to clients!

      Thank you! Although the Omni Breeze isn't designed to take an infant insert for a newborn. The earlier versions of the Ergobaby carriers did (pre-2017ish) but from the Ergobaby Adapt and Omni 360 onwards the infant insert wasn't needed.

    Thank you. This video is very helpful. Do we need to tighten the shoulder strap near the baby's face? My 3 months old baby keeps sucking the strap as her mouth is too close to it.😅

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  Рік тому

      Sucking on the strap doesn't indicate it needs to be tightened. My experience is 99% of babies will suck/chew on whatever path of the carrier they can reach.
      If the carrier otherwise feels comfortable and baby is well supported then it's probably perfect.
      Also FYI the carrier is machine washable if it gets really heavily drooled on 😉😄

    Thanks for this very helpful. I find the straps are just hanging off very long. What do you recommend you do with them?

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Stella, do you mean the straps you pull to adjust a dangling down? They have a little elastic loop at the end - you can roll up the ends to shorten them and use the elastic to hold in place. If that makes sense?
      If that's not what you mean or it doesn't make sense let me know! I can make a little video to explain. - Rachel.

    Great review! Thank you! I just wanted to ask your opinion on the Breeze vs Embrace for a newborn. I’m wondering if the softer/possibly comfier experience that the Embrace provides is worth it for that first 9-12 months or so before upgrading, or go for the Breeze for added longevity in one product?

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Shrugies, great question! I’ve just made a video answering this for you, though I have reconfigured your question a bit to make it more general for anyone else also comparing these two carriers. So I hope this answers your question!
      ua-cam.com/video/Xgua4vVPLsU/v-deo.html
      I would also add to this that if you did go with the Embrace for a newborn I would suggest looking at a toddler specific carrier to follow on with, like a Tula Toddler Carrier, because if you don’t need the newborn function of the Omni Breeze there are other carriers that will last longer than the Omni Breeze. Just as a thought to throw in there!
      I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any more questions.
      Take care!

    If theres extra room in the head area is there a way to tighten it to make it more snug? I know the babybjorn harmony has that option but i dont want to spend $229

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  2 роки тому

      Hi Dalia, great question! The Ergobaby Omni doesn't have a strap to adjust like the Ergobaby, instead it has a cushion head support - more like a neck pillow you'd use on a road trip or flight. I show it in the video at 8:15
      It may be a personal preference but if there's a gap I think filling that space with a cushion at baby's neck rather than tightening the fabric around their head/neck. Though I haven't personally played with the Baby Bjorn Harmony to specifically on that comment but in my opinion, based on my experience generally with Baby Bjorn carriers is they don't offer as much support for baby's back as a lot of other carriers.
      I'm happy to make a video talking about exactly why I prefer the Ergobaby style of carriers where baby is held against your body - compared to the more pouch style carrier like the Baby Bjorn where you put the carrier on first and then put baby into a separate pouch on the front.
      Or let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks, Rachel.

    What’s the difference between the Omni dream and Omni breeze?

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  3 роки тому

      Thank you for your question! While I haven't had the opportunity to do a hands on review of the Omni Dream at this stage - though I've just asked Ergobaby if they can send me one - it looks like they're structurally exactly the same but the Omni Dream is 100% cotton. Whereas the Omni Breeze is a super light and breathable polyester mesh material. I hope that helps! I can let you know if I end up doing a comparison review. - Rachel

  • @melodygehrmann7850
    @melodygehrmann7850 2 роки тому

    Thanks so much for these review videos! Do you have any experience with Lillebaby, and could you compare the Omni Breeze to the Lillebaby mesh carrier? All the Ergobaby vs. Lillebaby reviews online show an older Ergobaby model that needs a newborn insert and doesn't have pockets, so it's not a fair comparison. The extra back padding on the Lillebaby looks more comfortable, but I've heard the carrier is stiffer and harder to adjust, so I'd love to see a video comparison if possible!

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Melody! Thank you for your question! I actually have a collaboration with LILLEbaby coming up in the next few weeks! Though we're just ironing out the timeline. But I'll doing a full LILLEbaby carrier review, demonstration, and a separate video going through the whole "Complete" range - Original VS Air Flow VS All Seasons.
      So I can definitely also do a Omni Breeze VS LILLEbaby video as well! I think that'll be a good video to have. So thank you!
      At this stage I'd be likely publishing the videos somewhere around the 12-19th of March.
      But if you're needing that information sooner - like you're needing to buy a carrier soon - let me know and I'll try to get a video for you ASAP. Even if it's a less polished video quickly going through the differences for you.
      Just let me know! - Rachel

      @@ParentingCentral hi Rachel, thanks so much for the quick reply! That timing should be pretty good (I'm just wondering which one to put on my registry, which will get sent to people in mid-March), but if you could even send me a message with your impressions/summary after trying the Lillebaby, that would be great! I picked the Omni Breeze because I have back pain and live in the south, so I wanted the coolest and most supportive option. But that's why the shaped lumbar support of the Lillebaby is really intriguing, especially on a carrier that seems cheaper and less known for being an expert in back support. 🤔 And they have that nice pad behind the top back buckle, but is that really needed? Does the top back buckle on an Ergobaby ever dig in? Oh, and the Omni Breeze has more pockets now, including on the side, but can you actually put a phone, wallet, and keys in there without them poking you or the baby? These are my questions after hours scouring pictures and videos. 😅

      Amazing! I can probably get my hands on a LILLEbaby Air Flow and put together a quick video by Tuesday/Wednesday next week. I have played with them, I just don't have one physically here right now and a lot of my thoughts on them are going to be much better showing than telling! Also I think I need to have a play with the Air Flow and Omni Breeze side by side to really compare the fabric feel and lightness. Though the Air Flow is definitely not as stiff compared to the Original and All Seasons versions.
      I'll let you know how I go with it - Rachel

    Hey there, you mentioned in one of the comments that for a bigger baby or toddler size baby the breeze might not be the better option...is there a certain style like the 360 omni thats better for a bigger baby?

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Justine, thank you for your comment. I tried to make a quick video about best carriers for bigger babies yesterday but I had way too many thoughts and it started to turn into a bit of a ted talk. lol. If I manage to edit it down to something watchable I'll link it here for you.
      So the short version - a couple of options to look at that are like the Ergobaby Omni but are a little bit bigger in the panel so will provide knee to knee support longer making it more more comfortable to carry a bigger baby/bigger toddler:
      Moby Move - ua-cam.com/video/P0o8JlxZTnA/v-deo.html
      Tula Explore - ua-cam.com/video/u8CwAWhxN0k/v-deo.html
      I also might have another from birth suggestion though coming soon with another carrier that is on it's way to me to review. So watch this space!
      But what I was suggesting to the parent in that comment was they were looking at getting both an Ergobaby Embrace and then following on with an Ergobaby Omni when baby outgrew the Embrace. The Embrace lasts up until about 12 months so it makes more sense to me to then get a carrier that could last from 1-4 years - like a Toddler Tula. (Which I have personally owned and not reviewed. I can definitely make that review if you're interested in seeing what an actual "toddler" specific carrier looks like.)
      I hope that helps! - Rachel

      @@ParentingCentral Thank you so much for your prompt reply and yes that was super helpful. We just purchased the Omni Breeze so I'm hoping that's a great one from NB to toddler and then I guess I will look into the Tula down the track because I love to hike and you mentioned it was perfect for a bigger baby with optimal support...Looking forward to the review :)

    Allthogh it unfortunately isn't the perfect fit for a newborn baby..

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  10 місяців тому

      Can I ask how old/big is baby? And what are finding isn't working with the fit?
      I have found it can be tricky getting a perfect fit in carriers in the first couple of weeks when baby is still really curled/scrunched.

      I'm refering to you and your doll. The neck support should never go higher than the earlobes for instance. And the seat will be to wide. This Carrier doesn't fit most babies until 3 months +. (and is bulky, hard and not a good fit for people with a short torso). There are so many amazing carriers out there. Too bad this one has basically a monopoly..

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  10 місяців тому

      @jonasogingvildholteide2315 thanks for the feedback. It is also tricky to correctly position a doll!
      I have helped parents fit the earlier omni 360 with fairly fresh newborns and used it with a 4 week old myself and found you can meet the TICKS safety guidelines.
      Although I prefer to use a wrap for a newborn, and there are other soft structured carriers I prefer personally because they are better suited. But as far as soft structured carriers go I think the Ergobaby omni is one of the better options for newborns.
