  • Ever wished you could unlock doors, turn on your lights, or log into your computer with a simple swipe of your hand? Amal Graafstra does just that as one of the first and most well-known "do-it-yourself" RFID (radio-frequency identification) implantees in the world. In this talk, Amal talks about his journey as a pioneer in RFID implementation and what you should know about biohacking.
    In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

    Watching him unlock that lock the way that he did almost brought tears to my eyes. I've been a transhumanist for years and a lot of hope and passion feels like its just a pipe dream sometimes. It's refreshing to see not only other people that share your idles so vividly but also confirmation that all that hope hasn't gone to waste.

      ***** "The Government" can abuse anything, but this tool is very, very weak. I have two credit cards in my pocket with RFID and there's another one in my Samsung phone. There are at least dozens of easier ways to track people. If you own a phone you are already carrying a device with a camera, microphone and position locator (even if it doesn't have GPS) which is constantly connected to network. RFID is not something to be scared of. It would be the absolute worst possible way for the government to get in your business.

    Digital ID via Wetwear devices is the future, penetration of the skin not required. Having a means to ID yourself to secure your own stuff is a plus. And applying ID stripping to all BigData is also essential to privacy. We just aren't quite there yet.

    • @firehazard51
      @firehazard51 3 роки тому

      These chips aren't small things floating in your blood. they are rather large and you'll never not know where they are. If you want to look at something similar in the medical field you can look at birth control devices that get inserted under the skin in the arm and last for years. Body modification from inserting things under the skin and on top of the muscle layer has been around for decades. This is partially why he recommend piercers because that community is well aware of the practice of putting things under the skin and above the muscle layer.

      This is years later, sorry, but for future people who find this, there are multiple different protocols, some of them would allow for that kind of attack, but they’re considered insecure. If you wanted to use it to lock your door you’d use a non-forgeable protocol.

    One question: How about the next step of human evolution is a growth in consiousness and truly acting from the heart, to honor existence, the Earth, the body, every human being, every animal and every plant, and not try to hack any of it, and not kill and act out of greed? This, to me, would be a much more favourable next step in human evolution.

    • @timeless8536
      @timeless8536 3 роки тому +2

      I agree with you. Nicely said. But the way I see it, society is being misdirected down a road that will be very hard to get back to a heart conscious way of life. The Hive Mind (A.I.) will be that next layer that will be used to pull us further away from our subconscious mind, which essentially is the Creative Mind. The Conscious Mind will become Subconscious, whereas the Subconscious will then become the Ultra Subconscious Mind...forever locked in a mental prison. Today’s upside down society does not emphasize Individuality. Rather, it desires a more easily manageable group of human cattle who all think alike.

      As anyone that has a pet with a chip can attest, they cannot be tracked.
      It is only when they are scanned at the vets that the chip can be read as it has no battery or power source.

    • @firehazard51

      When the local dog catcher finds them they will look at a specific place for a chip. If they find a chip they can look them up in a database and find their owner's information.

    if the chip just turns off all the ''blind ones'' who accepted to let it be placed, all that is left would be awareness.

    • @firehazard51
      @firehazard51 3 роки тому

      If you are worried about the chip coming out of the body that isn't a major concern. There would need to be A LOT of force to get a glass rod to trip through the skin. Metal in the skin is sharp and can be pulled out of the body pretty easily which is why lose metal in the body is a big issue. Think of a soldier who took shrapnel blast and some metal was just left behind because it was too small to get all of it.

    ow. really. nothing but pain and nerve damage. how do you propose to introduce a cyborg tech that receives wireless radio wave born electric charge when such a piece of gadgetry can be so easily hacked by some anonymous moron with a radio frequency emitter who then 'fires up the emitter' in order to see the 'targeted victim inflicted with cyborg gear' writhing in pain and begging for the electronic charge to stop. reference: for the last 15 or so years in Ottawa, Canada, low frequency emitters at detectable levels all shitting out enough Doppler wave electricity to have those unfortunate enough to have 'cyborg gear' begging and pleading for the pain to end (no regulatory enforcement and a regulatory regime that relies on 'self control' for compliance to national and international protocols for frequency transmission). (note: cyborg tech implants in Ottawa currently include, amongst other things Mr. Graafstra (you got only TWO? shit. I got 10 and they are beyond 'opening doors' my friend - cross reference Kevin Warwick and the University of Reading), adjuncts which allow the eyes to receive a video feed (causing blindness right here in Ottawa); adjuncts to the chest and the throat and ears which allow the voice to bend radio waves in order to 'broad cast digitally' or to 'capture the voice of another' (this right here in Ottawa too! and a life of hell is born!!!). those familiar with your 'cyborg shit' hate it. it is a painful debilitating march to death masquerading as 'fun science for the demented and the abusive'.
