I enjoyed watching the video thank you both for being who are and I love the sense of humor of you all. I totally agree that we need to celebrate life in every moment Alhamdu lil Allah
I love how Max is taking the lead, he’s able to ask and communicate with Mama Wafaa so beautifully! And Mai is looking pretty and translating and bringing amazing energy!
Love you guys. Congratulations and Ramadan Kareem. BTW - my mom is Egyptian and my dad is African American and a revert. I am married to an African American Muslim. My son and daughter (Zaid is 8 and Jenna is 6) love you and are always saying kaliminey ya Papai!! 🥰🥰🥰. You are both a role models to them for many reasons. Thank you for sharing your stories and making us laugh. We love it when we see you praying together. 🤲🏼🤲🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🥰
Thank you so much and Ramadan Kareem to you and your beautiful Family. I send so much love and my salams to you and and your family and please give an extra hi to your kids
Max's advice for having to quit a 9-5 or not, is just motivating. He explains it so well for anyone to know both jobs are important but you just have to know what works for you and how to eventually choose or transition to.
😭😭😭😭 I'm so glad ya'll recorded this for us. I was so sad about that 15 secs clip on your story 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 By the way, I'm so glad a Jamaican man is showing out positively for other women to see that there are amazing Jamaican men out there 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲❤️🙏🏾
The last woman telling Mai and Mama Wafae that they helped her indirect feeling good in a rough time really touched me. This is also for me true as someone watching your content and having a happy moment because of your content. May Allah reward you and be pleased with you all!
I got married at 22 and i find yall relationship so inspiring and interesting, specially for a first Arab-American gen in my family i love yall sm keep it up 👍🏽
Lots of Love from Germany 🥰 never in a million years i thought that Mama Wafaa learnt German. I am impressed 😍 And what she said in German was so good 👍
Maa shaa Allah may Allah bless your marriage. My husband is a white (American) revert and I am Pakistani. My parents were actually very open minded about it once they saw that he was a practicing Muslim (he had been a revert 10 yrs before we actually met)
Mama Wafa is a very typical old school arab mom who makes jokes on the expense of their children as a way to make other people laugh and they have no idea how hurtful this way to us and make us insecure 😢 Being jokingly mean is easier for them than telling you how proud they are of you and how much they love you and worry about u. I am proud of you Mai and know that you are enough and an amazing human being, thanks to sharing your light with us ❤️
YES! Thank you for this! Honestly it’s all i think about when i see her videos.. it was funny at first but i’m suuure mommy issues are hidden behind those laughs
My fav couple. And mama wafaa my fav mama♥️. I am a Romanian muslim convert & my husband is Egyptian turkish. We have 2 boys Saif & Sofyan . This is so lovely Mashallah. My husband is African American and I’m Egyptian as well, and we got married I think the weekend after you guys on January 10th Alhamdulillah 😊😊♥️♥️
It's okay Mai you're very successful. We are in a different era so it's harder for your mom to understand. Regardless both you and Max are very successful
Hello I married into a Muslim Pakistani family and I come from a white catholic family, a convert Muslim now but we are happy and blessed Ramadan Mubarak
Beautiful I met my husband and 3 weeks later we were married. He’s the funny one joking all the time I’m the serious observant business one. However we mesh well. I was the revert he became Muslim over 40 plus years ago. There’s a 15 year age gap. May Allah continue to bless you two greatly!!!!!
I've been always seeing and liking and enjoying your posts for a while now, but after hearing you (Mai) talk about your experiences growing up, I had goosebumps because of how similar and how much I deeply resonated with a lot of things you talked about. I'm Pakistani and my parents are also first generation immigrants in Canada and I had to grow up with the strict family rules and the restrictions and values and all of the good things and the not so enjoyable parts. I did the Quran classes as well as going to Urdu school on the weekends and only speaking Urdu at home because we weren't allowed to speak English at home and all that. And I ALSO went to an islamic private school from grade 2 to grade 8, and had the whole experience of feeling like not so different from my peers because we're all experiencing the same thing at school as well as similar lifestyles at home. And what you said about you not dating was funny because I would also say I don't date just to avoid the hassle that would've come with it. And omg the culture shock I got after going to high school?? it was INSANE! there was so much exposure to so many new things and I had trouble fitting in or relating to the other kids or felt the need to exaggerate or play down things about myself and all that. its just so interesting and nice to hear that someone else also had the exact same experience growing up. I didn't really get a chance for my family to tell whether or not I grow up to be a disappointment because I fell in love and am getting married at 20 and my fiancé and I are both going to go to university together inshallah so I'm basically going to be out of my moms hair (and finally have some freedom😂). I love your videos Mai, keep up the work I'm so proud of how far you've come, I know how hard it can be to choose between expectations and your own happiness and I'm so glad you're doing what makes you happy alhamdullilah. Allah bless you and your mom and yours and Max's marriage, I'm feeling so much happiness and sisterly love for you, I feel like my older sister's made it in life alhamdulillah, Allah bless you and max and your marriage and Allah give you countless blessings in your life inshallah. 😊
I want to understand the culture shock you experience at high school my kids are also in private islamic school and i want to do things right for them so i would really like some input from someone who experienced it 1st hand
I just discovered this family 2 days ago, I looooove Mai. She is a gentle soul. Her hubby is a good man. The mom reminds me about my own family. She is very rough and comes off as very abusive and I have to say it a MEAN SPIRIT. She couldn't even tell her she is proud of her. I know 4 a FACT IF dude was not Rich she wouldn't want him. They are a bit racist towards African Americans, especially if the person is on the Darker side. I hope the mother realizes this one day! Cherish this girl, she loves U. Even the way Mai looks at her, it's like she reverts back to a baby, still seeking approval. The mom and her siblings calling a looser is AWFUL. MAI WE LOVE U.
I can see how their dynamic may be misunderstood like that, but coming from an Arab household myself, I can tell she’s not mean spirited. She wants the best for her kids and she fought to get them here. If she was abusive or super against Mai she wouldn’t be on the stage or in her videos. It’s natural for a mom who cares to worry about her kids and Arab parents almost never verbally say they’re proud of you (that’s definitely something our generation should work on), but you can tell she’s proud of her from her body language and jokes.
Yes that what I see with her mom, and her daughter still looking for that external approval validation that’s her inner child coming to the surface 😢maybe some unhealed trauma trap there that she hasn’t realized 😞that was my story with my mom back then til I decided to go for my healing journey and needed to do the inner work for myself to stop trying to seek for external validation 😢
This is beautiful to watch I’ve been a supporter of Mai from the beginning and I’m so happy to see her glow and blossom. Mama Wafaa is so precious but I hope she gives Mai the validation I can see that she needs from her mom. Love you all
mai ya bit-I got myself a Dominican-ya Habibti I think it’s our charisma! My Dominican convert husband and I have two little kids. We laugh constantly. My husband was ready and travelled 10 hours to see me and yes my parents told him about the no refund policy. 😂 my husband and I can relate and love you guys. Mama Wafaa is a copy of my mom.
This was so fun to watch! Mama Wafaa is so precious, I genuinely say this Allah yhmeha! And congratulations on your marriage Nshallah a long happy life together!!!
I absolutely love you guys! Thank you for sharing your lives! Mai, I got so excited when you got engaged as if I knew you!! Love following your journey! Mabrook on your new lives, and o3balkom with everything !
In love with how may thank her mom after she saying something negative by accident ,love you may , you brought joy and happiness to our hearts Ramadan mobarak❤️🤲🏻🍀
Mai!!! You crack me up 😂 your mom reminds me so much of my mom 😍 we are Palestinian /Jordanian ❤congratulations on your marriage beautiful 🎉 and assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakathu 😅
Watched the whole video and I’m glad I did. I’ve been following Mai & Mama Waafa on social media for a while because I love their contents! Your posts are hilarious they certainly brighten my day whenever I feel down. I was taken aback but genuinely very happy when I heard that Mai got married even tho I didn’t know her in person lol. May Allah bless your marriage with Brother Max. Thank you for bringing joy and happiness through your posts.
Had a friend in Saudi Arabia called Wofaa like you or is it Wafaa she used to save me alot in Saudi didn't have a phone she used to give me hers ,there's no intimate story she didn't share with me ,her kids loved me sooo much, she used to gift me too alot many were jealous of our friendship but we ignored anyway miss her lots...she was such a kind and sweet soul much as she dropped out of school for an arranged marriage 🤦🏿♀️ she got married at 16 her husband was super rich that she always wanted to go back to school but her husband couldn't allow her....all he was thinking about is her siring kids for him 🤦🏿♀️....I hope she finally went back to school it's been years since i saw her...she was very creative , smart ,cooking skills 💯, she loved English language and would teach her few words here and there and she would teach herself online..I hope now that Saudia is changing she finally achieved her dreams.
It was soo entertaining and engaging the whole way through that I instead of sleeping felt the need to stay watching the whole way through without skipping any second of the video. Best of luck !!
