How to Fix Microphone/Headset on PS4

- In this video, I show how to fix your microphone/headset on PS4. I go over a few things to make sure it is working correctly. This should work for both headsets and earbuds. In device settings, check that your mic is connected and your device is set. Turn your mic volume up. Check all cables and make sure they are flush. Take out and put back in the cable a few times very quickly. Make sure the mic toggle switch is not muted. If these do not work, try a hard reset by holding down the power button until you hear 2 beeps, wait till it turns off completely. Take out power cable for 30 seconds. If all of these steps do not work, try a different controller/headset.

After almost a year of not being able to be heard through the mic but hearing others, we finally came across your video explaining how to use earbuds and insert them a few times and THAT FIXED IT! My 10 yr old son and I (his mom) couldn’t be more thrilled that it’s finally working and he can play using the mic with his friends again! We can’t thank you enough for putting this video out and saving our sanity! We were almost ready to purchase another console after no one could seem to figure out what was wrong with it. Fixes for the A10 brand new out of the box (troubleshooting)
1) Make sure it's not muted this particular mic you must flip the mic downward, since upwards means it's muted. (Also make sure your headset settings are set too all audio and not chat audio in the ps4 settings)
2) restart the ps4 with the mic plugged in, as well as check for any updates that your ps4 may have. (If this dosent fix follow the next steps)
3)make sure the ps4 is recognizing the mic input through the settings if it's not, simply unplug it from the controller. Then plug it in a little more than halfway, not fully then once it's recognized slowly push it in fully. (If it recognizes but won't pick up the input follow the next step)
4)Once the mic is recognized allowing you to hear sound as well as see your mic active but dosent pick up you talking. Simply push hard af (atleast five pounds of pressure on the 3.5mm side that connects directly into the headphone itself) make sure you are in a party and if you think you are pressing hard enough hold rhe pressure and start talking in a party chat to see if it starts lighting up. If it isn't you arnt pushing it hard enough, so try a little harder (I was scared it was going to break the cable with the amount of force I had to put but it ended up working) once you've seen it starting to light up you can let go of the 3.5mm jack and finally enjoy your brand new mic that you just bought.
(Step four worked for me after I had to troubleshoot all the other options and decided to share this fix due to being pissed that I had bought a brand new microphone thinking It was broken)
If step four dosent fix the issue I'd recommend using a q tip with 90% rubbing alcohol (if you have 70% make sure to clean it twice with a dry q tip that way you dont damage the jax inside of the controller and get rid of any excess alcohol)
Hopefully this helps I was in the same boat buying a brand new pair of a10 ps4 headphones only to think they were broken from the start, eventually got pissed and pushed super hard on the 3.5 cable connected to the mic itself held it there and talked into a party to my suprise it actually picked up my input, I was scared if i Le go that it wouldnt work due to how hard I was pressing I in and it wouldn't budge any further but to my suprise it worked)
Ps never buy these headphones they are an absolute shit product considering i had to troubleshoot them straight out of a brand new box, took me thirty minutes of tutorial fixed only to find out none of them actually solved the problem other than step 4. For a sixty dollar mic you're better off getting skullcandy for 10$ atleast they'll work out of the box and you don't have to troubleshoot a brand new product.

It's amazing there's not one specific video for what I'm trying to find I literally just had to stumble around and figure it out myself. Somebody make a video on how you get the audio from the TV through your earphones or ear buds only just that so many people just want a video showing you how to do that. I couldn't find any video from the US at least that showed me how to do this.

Hey guys, if you're still struggling on this problem and some of his tips don't work but you think it's a controller problem, go to your settings and turn off your PS4 controller then turn it back on. Hope that helps

Heya, did you try pulling it out & putting it back in 4+ times? It seems stupid I know, but it was the only thing that got my wired headset mic to work with my PS4. It must do some kind of of forced electrical resyncing.

Try turning on the headset volume from the headset itself from the mic on and off thing I was about to get a refund until I tried that and it worked just fine

Try going to settings > Device > Audio Devices > Output to Headphones and switch it from chat only to all audio.

I was about to break the mic of my headset before I decided to try this. But it wasn't working at first but I used my compressed air can and sprayed the PlayStation controller port after I connected the headset my joy was enormous when I saw the volume bar rise up

First: you need to turn off ps4 and turn back on

If anyone still has this issue hold the playstation button, go to sound and devices, and make sure “disable game chat audio” is OFF. I accidently enabled it a week ago and just now realized, it basically makes it so you cant hear anyone in game and they cant hear you.

chase 5900 yeah, turn off headset. Use pin to reset dongle on side, when dongle light flashes hold mute and vss buttons while turning headset to 1.
