First time I played at La Cala, I made the mistake of thinking I’ll walk with a trolley (not an electric trolley), that was the first and last time, buggies only now when on holiday, apart from some courses in Thailand before they became cart only, mind you, having the caddy with the trolley helped. Good to see Sophie back on UA-cam. Ray 1 up, that’s a novelty. Sophie obviously doesn’t watch the muppets very often with comments like “what’s your miss normally”😂😂
We’ve been to la cala twice now, love the place. We’re doing 3 different courses around Marbella next year, but you really can’t beat la cala for a golf holiday, I’d gladly go year after year. Club sandwich and a beer, por favor Ruben!
America is a great course, bookended by a great 1st hole from an elevated tee, and a fantastic 18th par 5, again from an elevated tee. Almost driveable if you can pull one round the corner and get a nice bounce........ Or in my case, slice one hard right into the rough and leave yourself 300 to the green.
I have been thinking about a golfing holiday and wondering do u take your clubs over with you or hire clubs? If you take yours roughly what is the cost of flying clubs over. Thanks
Hi there Ricky, in general, the standard of rental clubs are defo getting better from my limited experience of using them, but I would still always advocate taking your own. Then you have peace of mind in terms of knowing what you're getting, plus we all love our own clubs right?! You can also then utilise some of the extra space in your golf bag from a packing point of view. Re club carriage, it's tricky to give a rough cost without knowing the destination. Club carriage differs from airline to airline and the majority of long haul flights will have free club carriage. Various airlines will offer this on shorter flights too. Depending on your destination of choice, you can also put companies like ClubsToHire.com to use who offer a really convenient service with pickup and drop-off at the airport. Do you have a destination in mind and perhaps we could provide some more insight into this for you? Regards, Rory
Played America and Asia last year while UK was in lockdown, place was very quiet and cheap. Lovely courses, spoilt a bit by the unending housing developments but can’t blame people for wanting to live there. I preferred Asia.
I don't call myself an 8 handicap. The handicap system does it for me. Just spent 20+ years handing scores in in competitions and hey presto, I have an official handicap. I am happy to play you off 28 though.

Serious response, I didn't create the handicap system, and can't control the number it spits out. I play in comps as often as possible. 👍
Sophie I’ve watched a lot of Rory, so in answer to your question about being safe on the 2nd - if you are in front of Rory you are not safe!
