I rinse my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher so all of the food particles don’t get into the filter in the dishwasher. I usually hand wash but I do like to use it to sanitize. I generally decorate for fall after Labor Day. I keep all my red white and blue decorations until then so I get a good 4 months with patriotic decorations up.

I like Fall videos starting in September :) and I rinse my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, it’s get them clean but it’s not a garbage disposal. I think your Husband is right, I agree with him. It trips me out some people don’t rinse them before hand lol!

@@LaurenMidgleyoh and about the fall decor it’s too early yes but I’m always happy and excited for your decor videos. When ever you decide to it’s ok but it’s too early now. And I don’t have a dishwasher so I had wash and dry by hand everyday.
When my girls are little they would want to sleep with us too. It always made bedtime easier and we all slept better. They grow up so fast

It’s hard for me to keep friends too, I’ve encountered so many but have lost a lot too. I’m working on it with my therapist. Working on a lot with her and I’m okay with that. We do that too with the dinning room table it’s a watch all and always put things on it but it’s so nice and refreshing when it’s all clean and we have room to eat. I always love the finds you share with your decor bc the thrift store really is great I need to go my local one of these days. & I was always taught to rinse the dishes before outing it in the dishwasher as well anyones who’s come at you and said no is weird sorry lol. I also rinse before putting in the dishwasher! I know 2 people that don’t and theirs smells anytime I open it. We had to get ours repaired a while ago (screw needed to be replaced) and the tech said rinsing is always a good idea unless you clean out the filter every single day. He did say either way best to rinse, not necessarily until it’s clear as day but to get big pieces off. My husband and I personally rinse everything off. But to each their own!

Ugh I’m so sorry you deal with that too!! It is the worst!! I was having a good month or so and then this past week it’s been bad again, it’s soo frustrating and exhausting! It’s like if I ever see someone online talk about something medical, I get sent on a spiral and it’s hard to come back from. 🥴 I swear I was soo good in 2023, so then I thought yay let me get off my medication. Big mistake lol!! I hope you’re having an anxiety-free time recently!!
@@LaurenMidgley for about a month last month and this month I went down a spiral, losing some weight from worrying and didn’t have an appetite when it was so bad. all I wanted to do was sit and scroll my phone & googling my symptoms. mine usually starts with having a random symptom like this last bout was light headedness and because I was so focused on it my head felt funny, well that itself almost had me convinced that something was wrong. needless to say I ended up getting a Ct scan for peace of mind and all was fine and I dont feel that way anymore. praise God, he is our help in time of need. I am praying for you, Lauren. I was in that state for about a month. it takes my motivation, joy, happiness, etc. I hate it. but Praise God He is our help & comforter. God has always helped me and you too, and will continue to!
and that was also when I was off of my medication. too. its crazy how it affects you and your mind. I am taking it now. I am thankful God has given us it to help us.
My husband is a “don’t rinse just toss them in” kinda person and I’m a “rinse it til it’s clean and then put it in the dishwasher” person. 😂 I worry about the dishwasher more than my time because they are so expensive. He says that’s their job and you gotta let them do it. So we’re 50/50 here.

I suppose I'm ready for fall decor ideas, but too early to decorate! So maybe just show what's in the stores? I'm trying to incorporate some blue into my fall decor this year, so I do need some ideas. Maybe you could even do a video just showing pics you see online for inspiration and make it a chatty video?
Also, I rinse things before they go in the dishwasher. I definitely get any solid food off 1st. Mainly because I don't have to clean my filter as much doing it that way? Cleaning the filter grosses me out! 🤣
I'm so glad you're feeling better since finding some friends! I'm an introverted extrovert and it's really tough. I dread every social function but always enjoy it once I'm there! I have one friend. We've been friends for almost 25 years. She lives about 20 minutes from me and I haven't seen her in a couple of years! Crazy right?! Luckily she is an introverted extrovert too, so we're ok with texting each other all day every day. We may talk on the phone every few months? I feel like I need more friends, but I feel like such a weirdo...like can we be friends but not really hang out? 🤣
Hi Lauren! Another great video. I’m always happy when you upload a new one. Lately I’ve been wanting to do a lot of decluttering and redecorating, but my youngest (turned 1 last Friday) is walking everywhere and getting into everything. It’s so hard to get things done when they’re this age! There’s a 13 year age gap between my boys and I forgot what it’s like to have a toddler 😅Personally, I’m ready for fall content whenever. I’ve been watching fall and halloween decorate with me videos from previous years lol. I have already made a few purchases and I might’ve tried out some florals on my island and hung a fall wreath above my stove 🤣🤣 fall is my favorite and I want to enjoy it for as long as possible. In previous years, I start around the first of August. I decided this was close enough haha

I like fall stuff right around Labor Day. I feel like that’s when summer ends for our family at least.
I'm so glad you found some new friends!! It'll be great for your mental health and just to be "Lauren" as a young adult who still totally deserves to play another role, not just mommy. Also, I tend to rinse at least the big chunks of food off and anything really stuck on because it can clog your dishwasher filters and possibly cause it to break down faster. Finally, I love how your counters look right now!

You might like the books by Iris Johansen, Dean Koontz, and Mary Higgins Clark. They have all been writing books since the 80's and 90's so they have lots of books to choose from. They were some of my go to writers back in the day and popular best sellers. I'm sure you can get them at your local library to try them out.
We moved across the country and I started a book club in our new community and we’ve created some great friendships through that. It’s not easy to put yourself out there but once the kids are in school there will be so much more social interaction as well.

Years ago I stumbled across Whistling in the Dark by Lesley Kagen at the library.. and it left such an impression. Still remember it to this day. Highly recommend. 📚 I love that you are honest and transparent when it comes to cleaning videos. 🧺 You're not afraid to show real-life messes. So many of my YT ladies (referring to those I follow) seem to pre-clean. It's annoying how they pretend to clean something that's already spotless. As for the dishwasher, I wish I was blessed enough to have one! Personally, I would just rinse off the dishes that have stuff stuck to it. I keep seeing so many fall decor videos and I refuse to watch any of them until September. Labor Day is when I decorate. 🍎🍂🎃 I could understand posting inspired videos near the end of August, but that is the earliest. It's July! l want to enjoy summertime. ☀️
When I had a dishwasher that didn't work as well, I had to rinse our dishes but with a higher quality dishwasher I don't need to. I just make sure to clean out the filter on a regular basis so it doesn't get clogged.
Everyone needs friends.❤️ Our son slept with us until he was around 6. He’d start in his own bed but during the night crawl into ours.He’s 23 now and getting married in September!! Btw experts say you DO NOT need to rinse dishes off first. It can actually make your machine operate less effectively!

Try Never Saw Me Coming by Vera Kurian, it’s on NC Libby (Charlotte). It’s a debut thriller that is amazing. I never hear anyone mention it but it kept me up late reading!
I always rinse my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. The paperwork and if you watch actual videos for different brands of dishwashers, they state that you should rinse and scrape the large food particles so that they do not clog or gunk up your dishwasher.

My MIL had a dishwasher repair man say that rinsing them completely will actually etch your dishes. However, we’ve had dishwashers in the past that were horrible and basically only dish sanitizers and we had to make sure every single piece is food was washed off before putting them in the dishwasher. We now have a really nice kitchenaid one and we don’t have to. I do give them a little rinse though.

I think the July fall content was too early. I feel like by second week of August the mood will start to strike. 😊 Yes, rinse off your dishes. You may not have too but you are risking clogs or just dishwasher issues and need to stay on top of cleaning the filter. Scrape food into the garbage or garbage disposal and rinse off. I tend to rinse off all the things because I don’t run my dishwasher every day and don’t want stuff dried on. If you are loading and running, I’m sure it’s fine if there are crumbs or tiny things but definitely get rid of most of it. I hope your summer cold goes away soon!

Hello from Greece. I always rinse my plates before dishwasher cause otherwise it gets dirty and have to clean the hole machine more often and of course dishes don't get clear enough if there are remains from food on them.
If I had a high-end really good dishwasher, I would very lightly rinse. I have never had that luxury. My dishwashers have always sucked so in turn I MUST thoroughly rinse every dish. Necessity is the key.
I always rinse my dishes really well before I put them in the dishwasher because I’ve noticed if I don’t, the filter in the dishwasher gets clogged very easily and then I have to wash the inside of my dishwasher more often because bacteria grows and it will smell. Lot of people don’t know this until they start taking apart the dishwasher and seeing all the places that food is hiding and the mold will grow. It’s just something my mom taught me so Iguess I’m paranoid now ha ha

I always rinse all my dishes!!! I think with older dishwashers, you were supposed to, but the newer ones have those filters in them. I see people in UA-cam take their filters out to clean them and they are sooooo nasty! I would rather just rinse my dishes 😅😅

Hi! I love your house. I rinse my dishes before I put them in the dishwasher because I think it makes it easier on the dishwasher. That could be insane, I don’t know. But at least I don’t wash them first. I have two friends who wash their dishes with hot soapy water before they put them in the dishwasher. Now THAT is insane. Basically, their dishwasher is just a sterilizer.

I don't have a dishwasher it broke year's ago got it tooken out and added some shelves and to make a cabinet there isn't much storage in my kitchen when I had a dish washer I would scrap off as much food as I can I always thought I would ruin the dish washer eventually and clog up the filter
If you are going to put the dishes in the dishwasher.p with food on them, check your filter and keep that clean, so your dishwasher works good, my opinion;

I am really horrible about matching my breathing with my husband's at night, then I feel like I can't breathe and I feel like I'm going to have and anxiety attack. He has a CPap now so it's not as bad. LOL...I totally rinse off my dishes because our house is older and I live in a small town, so I'm afraid of clogging up the drains.

You have to rinse the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, because otherwise the dishwasher may clog up. By rinsing you elongate its life.
