I enjoyed this video. As someone who is really, really new to the whole 'independent artist' thing, it gave me a good sense of what it means to be responsible for the entire production process, aside from creating the actual art! Thank you for this, you are so real and believable!
Thank you so much for watching, I'm glad you found it helpful! 💕
Hi Dee! That's exciting to get such a large order going to France. You got to love technology ☺️. I don't know how you can handle it all. Glad you're feeling better. And you are never boring. I'll watch whatever you decide to share with us and whenever too. Sending you a hug 🤗 . 🌳🐿️💕💕
Thanks Diane, that's so nice of you to say 💕 I've just been feeling a little disheartened by social media lately (I'm sure I'll make a video on this topic soon!) But I do really like UA-cam, it's just very time consuming to make a video each week and time is going so fast! Glad you're not bored by the content yet, I'll do my best to keep it coming 😊 Hope you have a great week! 💕 xxx
i use my press ontop of my hob too so the fumes go right up the vent because they are a bit toxic and should always be used in a vented area though i do not have this so i do them ontop so most goes up and out. but i think i will invest in a 3d vaccum heat oven you can do like 12 at a time and have no issues with pressing them either
i have legit had zero issue with bottom of my mugs using either my auto tumble press or my manual one
Mark on your cutter with a piece of tape where to cut the sheet and save time!
Thanks, I do have measurements on my cutter but the mugs can be slightly different sizes (just a mm or less) so it's just tiny adjustments I make to make them all fit the same 😊
@thebutterflytoadstool, I completely understand. I used to design wedding invitations, and it's interesting how things that seem accurate or squared off can turn out to be a bit off.
Loved this blog!! Birch is such a cute coworker!
Thank you! Yes, she's a great companion, always there for a hug and she reminds me when it's break time! 😊
Thank you for this video! I pray to be where you are in a few years ❤️❤️ also love your voice ❤️ much love from Port Angeles Washington USA!
Thank you so much! You'll get there, it's taken me years to get to this point with a lot of work. But when you love doing it, it definitely helps! 🍄💕
@@thebutterflytoadstool it's definitely not a quick process by any means! ❤️ and yes if you don't love it then it's hard to keep motivated with! Totally agree 💯
Hi Dee wow you work so hard, love the squirrel mugs. Do you have a link or information re. Your headphones they look so comfortable and stylish? 🍄
Thank you so much 💕 and yes I do! You can find them here: amzn.to/3sfO44t they are very comfy, light weight and come in a few different colours. Thank you so much for watching 😊
Those mugs looked amazing altogether like that. I bet you’re glad you had a double press for that order and I bet you slept well that night, especially as you weren’t feeling too well. I’ve also had sore eyes recently, turns out I am allergic to mushroom spores, which is very disappointing lol xx
Ps I love watching your processes, I work along with you sometimes too. Most importantly make videos you enjoy making and have time to make. There will always be an audience, I am sure xxx
Oh no! What a strange allergy to have but at least you got to the bottom of it. Hopefully you can still look at them from afar 🍄 Yes, I was so glad of the double mug press for that order! Definitely made the whole process smoother 😊
Thank you 💕
Hi Dee ( That's such a lovely name btw! ), CONGRATULATIONS on your big order I'm knew to your channel but I'm so glad i discovered it, i find your vlogs really relaxing and it's great to see so many artists/illustrators who run their own art businesses from home, that has to be the ultimate goal for many people, to be able to turn your love and passion into a full time job. I shall definitely be subscribing and I'll look forward to seeing more of your wonderful vlogs. I wish you good health and continued success in all of your artistic endeavours, take care, God Bless Dee xx
Hello! And thank you so much for such a lovely comment! I'm so pleased you like my vlogs (and my name 😊) and hope you find value in the content I create. Let me know if there are any topics you would like me to cover in future vlogs and I'll do my best. Have a wonderful day and rest of your week 💕🍄
@thebutterflytoadstool You're very welcome Dee, I really love how much importance you give to the beautiful & natural wildlife around you and it's so beautifully filmed too!! Personally I really love your painting vlogs, they are so relaxing, traditional art is always a real treat to watch, Digital art does have its own place but it isn't half as interesting to watch. Watching you create art for your shop or for your loyal patreons is so relaxing. If you could make your vlogs longer ( every now & again....that's would be the icing on the cake !! ). Thankyou once again, have yourself a great day and hopefully see your next vlogx
Thank you, I'll take this all on board for future vlogs 😊 Have a great week! 🍄
🎉🎉🎉
I am your 1000 subscriber!!!! So excited for you!!! Great video!!! Congrats!!!
Yay! Thank you so much! 🎉 I'm so pleased to have you here 💕
wow these are beautiful and would look lovely in my allotment lol
Thanks so much, I also have 3 gardener designs that you might like. Spring, Summer and Autumn 😊
Hi Dee! Thanks for sharing the tip on warming the ceramic mugs first for better printing results! I have a similar set up but my sublimation printing is giving me so much issues! ( wrong colors, even after all the trouble shooting). Seeing your vlogs always makes me want to try fixing it! You're a manufacturing machine btw wow 🤣 as always, the products looks amazing :)
Hi thanks for watching! I'm so pleased you found it useful 😊 In regards to your printing issues, have you installed the correct ICC printing profile for your ink/printer? Sublimation inks have different colour codes than normal inks so you need to buy, download and install an ICC profile that matches the type of ink you have and the printer you use so that the printer can match the ink to your screen colours. Does that make sense? 🍄
@@thebutterflytoadstool I indeed have the ICC profile for my printer. I think my last resort is replacing the inks as they are now expired! But thank you for taking the time to think with me ♥
That's a good idea, sorry I couldn't help though. Best of luck with it! 💕
Hello...new sub here...so impressed by your creativity and methodology that I'm in awe...I just enjoy watching artist I am not one myself but the videos like yours were you show how YOU have found your way to put your art out there is fascinating to me...who would of thought that there was a mug press even existed so cute and small you actually can have it at home...such high tech !!! I am 60 so that's why I am so impressed by all the things you use...LOL...any way...congratulations on your huge order...by the time you see this message I hope you have gotten many more and have totally recovered...Thank you for the upload...best wishes for the upcoming festivities and cheers from South of Spain👋👋
Thank you so much! And yes, it's brilliant that these things exist! I still get excited when I see a new design on a mug and I love that I can do the whole process at home 😊 Thanks so much for watching, glad you enjoyed it! 💕
Hi, loving your videos ~ so cozy keep going ~
Thanks so much! Glad you like them 🍄
@@thebutterflytoadstool can I ask you how you fold your card so perfectly ? I bought the paper you recommended, but I wonder how to flood it the way you do
The greetings card paper I use has a pre-scored line down the middle so it folds really easily. If you watch this video (I'll link it below) I mention the materials I use and the companies I buy them from 😊 ua-cam.com/video/8CgKHE8QfQE/v-deo.html
Hello, new subscriber here 👋. A bit off topic but I'm still in the beginning of your video and can't help but notice your chair; it looks comfy and ergonomic. Would you mind sharing what brand it is? Thank you and hope you feel better soon!
Hi thanks so much for subscribing and for watching 😊 My chair was a gift but it can be found on Amazon here: amzn.to/3OVCFiC I really like it and also like that it's a light colour instead of the normal black and grey! Thanks again and have a great weekend! 💕
@@thebutterflytoadstool You as well. Thank you!
That was fascinating, thank you for sharing! I am curious though, (only just discovered your channel, so apologies if you have covered this previously), printing and pressing your own mugs seems very labour intensive, is there any reason why you don't use a third party printer/supplier for the mugs? I imagine DIY is cheaper, but like everything, it's a balancing act I suppose. I'm hoping to eventually to produce similar products from my art, and so I am keen to hear if you have tried external printers. Thanks very much for your content, really, really useful and interesting. Love your artwork!
Hi, thank you so much for watching! Yes, I've tried an external print company before and was just not happy with the quality they would put out. They would sometimes send me mugs that had marks on them or the print was bad and they still charged me full price even though it was mistakes on their part. I know you get imperfections on products (I have issues with it myself too) but I wasn't happy not knowing what I would receive from them. Plus, print companies usually have minimum orders per design, so I would never know how many to order and didn't like the thought of being stuck with a design that didn't sell well. It's much more flexible doing it yourself for many reasons, but yes it's very labour intensive. 🍄
@@thebutterflytoadstool Many thanks for your reply, I really appreciate your taking the time to answer in such depth. I wish you continued success with your business venture. I absolutely love creating my artwork (watercolour), and I would be thrilled if I could eventually achieve half of what you have with yours! 🙏💖
Mugs look good. How about a video on the different platforms your on and what you like about them.
Thank you! I'll add it to the list, have a great week!
would it not be easier and then faster to have the mug design printed the exact size you need instead of having to keep getting up and trimming extra bits off? i do with mine each design is to the exact size for my ceramic mugs where a full wrap design i get 2 on each sheet of A4 paper in landscape. you could get them portrait but it cuts a bit off and makes the image for me too far away from each side of the handle.
What temp are you setting the stove on for the mugs? It looks like a great idea for a large order.
Just to be clear, I'm not using the oven for the design transfer. If you watch again, I'm only using the oven on a very low heat to WARM the mugs before putting them in the mug press. You cannot use an oven to sublimate designs onto mugs. They have to be pressed in a specialised mug press for the transfer to work. Using the oven to warm the mugs is just a tip I use to help get an all-round design to press evenly on ceramic mugs. The oven is only set to between 40-50 degrees centigrade.
Hello ❤ Hi! I am about to start a new small business, stickers
Can you tell me a good Epson or canon printer model?
What is you’re use printer ?
Hi, I have a video explaining all of the equipment I use in my small business. You can find it here: ua-cam.com/video/jmccPASWUwg/v-deo.html Thanks!
You use the kitchen oven?? OMGOSH!!! Doesn't it leave the toxic fumes from the sublimation ink in your oven? You don't cook food in there afterward too I hope.
Don't worry, there are no toxic fumes. The oven is only on to warm the mugs (at a very low temperature). I can still lift them out by hand without using heatproof gloves as they are just warm, not hot. Sublimation inks are only active at much higher temperatures.
