I like this ship class because they were overbuilt. The "honeycomb" structure meant she could have chunks boiled away from her, and she would keep on going. She is the starship version of a tank. Designed for punishment. The "Operation: Red Flag" refit version of the class, the Pillar of Autumn was a damage dealing monster, along with the survivability. Adding a state of the art ship AI; Cortana, who casually states she took out 3 CCS class Covenant ships as if it was nothing shows you the firepower.
How would I name my ship? *Checks notebook full of ships and names* UNSC Reminiscence of Fall (of Humanity's fall from grace, multiple times and the Pillar of Autumn). An Autumn class and my first named ship. But UNSC Unflinching Through Fire would also be ready awesome. A Punic class Actium's Defiant Cry, and a UNSC Don't Giva Damn. UNSC Shadow Eye for a Point Blank class and more.
Which type of starship? Cruisers get grandiose names like Pillar of Autumn, Destroyers get names like Say My Name. If it is a Cruiser, maybe United We Stand, and for a destroyer UNSC Try It or UNSC F.A.F.O. I take issue withe the title and thesis of this video. To say the Halcyon class was the best cruiser because of the deeds of the Pillar of Autumn's one off refit and failed mission is inaccurate. The Halcyons only excelled at taking a beating. Other than hull structure, as is mentioned, they are under armed, armored, and powered. If the thesis was the Pillar of Autumn was the best/ most influential cruiser, that is a stronger subjective argument. The information is good, but the argument conflates the final capabilities and deed of the Pillar of Autumn with the class as a whole. She is the exception, not the average. Over all a good video. I may nitpick some details, but that does not detract from the good information.
For a brick, she really does fly pretty good!
Also, for a ship name, The UNSC Sworn to Defend sounds 'bout right.
the unsc hammer of asgard -pugilist class😊
don't forget the "Autumns" magic through deck that streaches and wraps around, that when laid out is at least 3 times the ships length
