Lalaji Sahab sang the following verses in a melodious voice:
🌼 Searched a lot, found not, in the skies nor the lands.
🌼 They emerged within the dwellers of my heart's darkened sands.
🍃 Sought the master of all, in earth and sky, everywhere, yet found nowhere; when found, it was only in the dark chambers of the heart.
🌼 I am darkness, yet within me hides a pearl so bright,
🌼 Its glimpse evident, O sky, in your jewels of light.
🍃 I am filled with darkness, yet within me lies a true, shining pearl, whose glimpse is present in the sky, the sun, the moon, and the stars.
🌼 If you seek to ease the heart's pain, serve the dervishes and saints.
🌼 These pearls are not found in the treasuries of kings.
🍃 If the desire is to awaken the love of the Lord in the heart, then serve His loving devotees and saints, for these pearls are not found in the treasures of great monarchs.
🌼 For love, seek a heart that's willing to break.
🌼 This is the wine kept in delicate crystal flasks.
🍃 Love requires only a heart, for it is the divine nectar that resides only in fragile and tender glass vessels.
Do not seek in outward appearances; if devotion is your aim, find those.
They sit quietly, holding an egg-shaped mark within their sleeves.
Silence, O heart! It's unseemly to shout in a crowded gathering.
Decorum is the foremost manner in the pathways of love.
Seek not the master of all in mere external attire or garments. Yes, if you desire His presence or meeting, search for those divine lovers and saints who conceal within their sleeves, in the palm of their hands, an egg-shaped mark.

इबादत हो ढूँढ़ उनको
यदेबैजा लिये बैठे हैं छुपके आस्तीनों में।
खामोश ए दिल! भरी महफिल में चिल्लाना नहीं अच्छा!
