Love that setup. I just bought the boonedox landing gear and It looks like you have a alittle different setup on how you rigged it the kayak. Did you put a reinforced backing plate on the inside of the yak? What rings are you using between the kayak and the boonedox mount?
Upgrades are awesome I must say. How is the Landing gear equipment holding up since this video was taken? Can you do another Up to date review with a more steady camera? I saved this video to my favorites so I can use it to upgrade mine when I get it in here in a month. prices are coming down to 1499 so far at all the stores. I still feel its the lowest quality pedal Kayak. Outriggers are nice have they helped you out in anyway?
Thank you! The Landing gear is holding up well, I bought the beach tires and that makes a world of difference when pulling it through the sand. I am planning on doing a kayaking trip to the coast this month and will definitely do an update, hopefully a bit more steady... It has held up well and was a great kayak for $1799, if they're dropping it to $1499 that's even better! I find myself buying another for my wife! The Outriggers have helped me because I have pretty bad balance even on dry land, now that my shoulder is good enough that I went back to work full duty, I am going to try fishing without the riggers and see how I do.
Did you use the backing plates for the landing gear? I have same kayak and it seems like it’s impossible to get them mounted on the backside of this kayak. If you used something else can you tell me exactly what you used? I aboit gave up and was going to get a scupper cart.
I have watched them and it looks near impossible. Seems more trouble than it’s worth since the only way to get underneath is though the back and then have to do some wire gymnastics to get it on. I think I’m just going with scupper cart.

Gary Goertz no you don't need them. I fished this weekend without them and did fine. They do add stability and I have pretty bad balance problems and feel more comfortable with them on but I didn't have any problems without them.
Jerry Krabe the aluminum tubing will slide into 1” pvc pipe. I then drilled a hole through both the pipe and pvc and inserted a bolt. T This will also allow you to adjust the height of the outriggers if needed by drilling additional holes in the pvc
Love how you incorporated your outriggers to your Boonedox. You mentioned for you DIY Outriggers, you had a "tubing vendor" bend your tubes for you. What is a tubing vendor and what angle did you bend your tubes to? I'd like my outrigger extension tubes to also be a mount for a trolling motor (on one side) and a anchor system (on the other). I'd have to have longer aluminum tubes that extend out farther from my canoe than what you have. Thanks for all the awesome mods!
smithmal I used a tubing bender which I bought at harbor freight. Most auto parts stores will also have them. I just bent them out so they would get the floats to the water. Not really sure what the angle is.
I have been looking for a battery like yours, would u share with us. Love your mods to the boat. I got mine several weeks ago from LL Bean for 15% off the top + 3% in store credit. Haven't got it to the water yet bc I feel out of bed and needed 7stiches to close the 4 in. gap, bleed bad. Have my transducer mounted but need a ion-battery to run the electronics for the yak. you pan a little fast sometimes and audio was low on 2nd vid, otherwise great video. di

The battery I have is from Advance Auto Parts here's a link to it... shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/autocraft-lithium-power-sport-battery-lfp-4/10570098-P I did have to replace the first one I bought because it would not stay charged. It's supposed to be a 14ah equivalent and my electronics pull 1.1ah so it should have run at least 12 hours and I was getting about 3 so back it went and I had it replaced with another that seems to be doing fine. I hope you have a speedy recovery so you get get your Pilot on the water! It's a great kayak and I have no regrets buying it and I think you will feel the same once you get it in the water. I apologize for the videos... I'm still learning and trying to improve the quality of my videos, thank you for your honest critique and suggestions!

Hey man love your rig! Have you noticed any places we might could installl a dry storage hatch?
Other than the one in the rear that gives you access to the rudder cables I don't see anywhere big enough for dry storage.

There is a backing plate which is made out of a hard plastic. Talk to Tim at Boonedox and he will send you what you need.
