I have a nephew that is a concrete contractor. Looks like his son will be taking over someday. I’m amazed how you set level spots with your laser and follow those with your screed and make the finished product so beautiful.
I don't think we're haters we just didn't expect it to stay up that easily with just a little concrete and gravel underneath it thank you for your explanation and thank you for a wonderful videos that I can't wait to see the next one
This video is one of your best yet. Replacing cracked interior slabs is especially relevant to me. This video is intensely useful and informative. I first noticed the usefulness with your videography of your dump truck operations. Way to go Bondo!

As a homeowner and as building contractor, having a steel post in the middle of a 20x20 garage is a nuisance I'd correct before having you fine Bondo Boys guys in to bust out and pour me a new slab. That post would drive me bonkers.😃
I can appreciate the effort to hook the wwm up in the slab, however it is not a recommended practice. Spend a few bucks and use wire upper slab bolsters 2’ on center to ensure the wire is as close to the middle slab thickness as possible. I do commend you on maintaining high slumps on the concrete mix.
Great Job! Are you going to teach roe how to puddle? you’ll have to buy him two sets of doggy puddle paw boots! He’s so cute! Is he a Labradoodle? half poodle half Labrador?
I like to cut some 5/8 into 2 foot lenghts place them around the post making a box or diamond, doubled. Throw 2 in each corner, and under the garage doors with the wire mesh
That's about the same stiffness I use for my own projects. It doesn't take very long for you to be able to hear it in the drum of your portable mixer when you're making it, when you do it by hand
Back in the day we carried 5 gallon buckets in the cab to wash out in in that situation. Dump it back in the drum. And sounds like your saw needs a carb clean.
thats about the slump we pour at all the time. on day like todays pour, we'd screed it off but i'd leave it open if its getting machined. i wait about 15 mins and than hit it with the wood bullfloat and then crawl edged and machine as usual. by not sealing it up, it sets up faster with less waiting around. you have to know what youre doing and be on your toes to not get behind. we're starting our season today it rain stops ..... and if the eclipse dont destroy the world. :) the sawcut sounds like the jets on the carb need to be cleaned out. i try to remember to go thru all the carbs and service all the small engines before we start hitting it hard. nothing worse than snapping a dry rotted belt while finishing a floor thats going.
We sometimes wait to float as well and you are correct it helps get it to dry better. You pour a good slump it sounds like. Ya that carb needs to be cleaned on the soft cut.
Sounds like you need a new carburetor diaphragm on your gas powered cutter. Seems to always fix the small engines I have when they rev up and down and are running a little rich on fuel. The last carburetor diaphragm package I bought was like three or four dollars... I hear that noise from blocks away and start walking over with one in my pocket.
Bondo when I worked slipform concrete in the 1980’s, one of the job superintendent, he would have loaner boots for the worker who forgot their concrete boots, but no body wanted to wear them, because they was Hot Pink, or as we would say Barbie Pink. Could you see your son having to wear hot pink concrete boots? If he had to, I am sure would not forget his boots ever again, if he had to.
Bondo, it looks good.I was kind of wondering how you're gonna do this garage. But I take it that you sloped it from the very back to the front and just kept going until you got to the bottom of the wood of the front of the Garage, and then you just. Put a bevel on the concrete where the water can run on out to the blacktop looks great.I wish I could Have you guys come Help me with Mine Thank you very much for the video.
are you guys familiar with the slip over the boots product that Mike Day Concrete team uses? Keep them in the truck and just slip them over your regular boots on pour day.
Curious to know if there are codes that dictate when you need to cut concrete, how wide between cuts? Or is that just best practices for where you live? Reason I ask is I recently had a slab poured for a shop (20x29) and the monolithic pour they didn't cut anything.
Bondo i notice you don’t use rebar in your concrete is there a reason why or the page wire is enough to give it strength? Is that a USA code or am i missing something?
Another great job, Bondo! I think Rowen might have been a little upset with you because you wouldn’t let him out of the pickup, lol 😝 Just like kids except they don’t hold a grudge and are always happy to see. Well, did it set up like you wanted it to? Big Biscuit and the others didn’t have to stay too late did they? Always enjoy your videos my friend, be looking forward to the next one 🤙
This video reminds me to remind you that I would love to take heavy fill like that anytime you’re in the area, I’m just around the corner from you. And I won’t charge you anything :-)
also you guys should be wearing safety Goggles At all times and fire suits. Never know when Big Brisket Might just spontaneously combust with all those trash bags on 😂😂😂
I remember this one time demoing some concrete it was 11 inches thick( concrete must of been on sale that day) it had no reinforcement in it, I wonder why we had to demo it 😂
You should be using that new fiberglass mesh it floats automatically right where it's needed. That what l read on the internet. So ya know it's got to be true. 😂😂😂😂
A potato rake is not OSHA approved for pulling wire . Also I noticed that your dog did not wipe his feet before getting into your truck I hope you can get these items corrected before your next video.
Sealed crete dust. Looks awful. Also you should have checked the plumb on the garage door tracks to show the homeowner. Laughing all the way to the bank and covering the earth with concrete.

Lift the dump bed up a tad when hand loading, it will drop the tailgate a like amount and make it easier to toss and bucket.

Thats a good idea to dump it back in the drum. Never thought of that.

Hey bondo in England where I am we tip clean hardcore / concrete for free as they crush it and sell it on ! Great video
Thats good they reuse it. I have used crushed concrete for fill under a slab a few times.

Question, if pooring a 4 foot wide by 27 foot long side walk ,can you use chain link fencing, instead of wire or fiberglass?
I would use the wire mesh.

I think they should have cut it to control the cracking. 10 foot sections would be good.
@@bondobuilt386 Is there some sort of goop you can fill the cuts with so crud (and water) doesn't get down into them if I were to do my own cuts?

I'm new to following you, what's the purpose of putting the poly down?
Hi. It is a vapor barrier and keeps the slab from wicking up moisture from the ground underneath.

We use rebar in footers or slabs that require xtra strength.
when the top of the garage door sticks in like that, you can just shim the top bracket
Ya he was gonna have a garage door guy adjust it to his new level floor.

It set up decent. They were out of there by 5:00 ish. Dogs are like kids. 😊
Kinda odd the pole in the middle of the garage. what is up with that?
Older house build.
How thick does concrete need to be if semi trailers are driving on it? Is 6 inches thick enough?
Yes if the sub grade is proper and the concrete is good and poured properly but check your codes in your area.
How much weight can the tipper hold, interesting video 🇬🇧
I can haul about 12000 in the dump truck and not be over my limit
