- Wow another visit to RAAF Base Amberley by two B2's this time!!
USAF Northrop B-2A Spirit Stealth Bombers Reg. 82-1068 'Spirit of New York' as 'Rave 11' and 82-1070 'Spirit of Ohio' as 'Rave 12' arrived into RAAF Base Amberley on 10 July 2022 as a Task Force deployment from the 509th Bomb Wing, Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, USA, to support PACAF training efforts with allies, partners, and conduct Joint Force and strategic deterrence missions to reinforce the rules-based international order in the Indo-Pacific region.
Such an amazing sight of these incredibly stealthy and deadly machines!
Gear used:

I was doing a delivery south of Ipswich today and looked up to see these 2 awesome birds flying around. Totally awesome

The most sophisticated, beautiful, and alien-looking plane ever built by humans period. It's nice to see them landing lately in the airfields of Northern Australia. Clearly, AUKUS has increased the trust level of sensitive equipment beyond even what it was during the 5 eyes era.

@@ecurb10 yep, but they’ve also been landing at Tindal and other airfields in the north, they’re actually doing this more than Amberley although it’s not being reported much. But yes northern Australia will become the new staging ground for them if runs are needed on China as well as Guam.

I live not too far from Amberley and saw the B-2s a few times. Didn’t know they be arriving before my first spotting, whereupon a quick google explained why. Very, very glad to have seen ‘em since I’ve been a bit of a warplane nut since my childhood in the ‘50s.
I used to work at Amberley as contractor . The place is such a contrast . Old timber buildings housing the highest tech jet engines in rows . Country farm appearance hardly any security you can see . But .. the place is bristling with unseen protection . Underground facilities and large military missile systems . So very cool . I was lucky enough to be allowed in and around . 4 times . Fantastic

Well caught, some nice shots in there. We get them too at RAF Fairford in the UK. I think there are x4 in Aussie now, that's about 20% of the fleet!

The smart move for the WH is to not issue ANY official statements about any activity in the Pacific.
Keep the Chinese nervous by being very, very casual about the whole thing while ramping up activity in the region & have an increasing number of ships & aircraft traveleing there - with many, many, many friendly stops in Taiwan, Japan & South Korea.
In fact deploy 2/3rds of the Navy to the Pacific and make sure to make frequent trips past the Chinese coast - at full strength.
What part would they be guessing? They have very well developed intelligence gathering. Your suggestion would be utterly pointless. This way you get the message out, because you know its being listened to anyway.

Worlds stupidest plane.....And heres why....
There was an over the horizon radar operating in the Northern Territory and it bounces off the ionosphere and comes down on the object and does rely on reflectivity of the angle of the surface of an object. The RAAf in the NT contacted the Yanks and said we are tracking two planes travelling east... And the Yanks said no your not. So the Aussies saidHeight Speed and Direction, so the planes changed course shortly after.... The Aussies gave a course correction. The yanks responded with how are you tracking our planes, Aussies replied we have a WW11 era over the horizon Radar tracking your planes which happened to be two Stealth Bombers. The yanks came up with a solution for their not so stealth planes. They turned around and said hey we are willing to give you a brand new Radar unit to replace the old one and it just so happened that the new unit doesnt track the planes... True story going around the Boosers of the ADF when i was in in 1998.....
Australia operates the JORN capability (look it up) - over the horizon radar - can see maritime and air objects out to Indonisia+ distances. No good for counter-targeting but good enough accuracy for advanced warning.
