I think cycle needs a nerf more than anything else. I think the best way to do this isn't by nerfing or buffing any card(s), but rather by increasing the time it takes to draw a card after playing one. For this to work better in 2x elixir, the draw speed could change with elixir rate. "Draw Speed" could be worked into each individual cards stats, as another tool to balance. You could give 1 elixir cards such as skeletons and spirits a longer draw speed, so you cannot 3 card cycle as fast. This will give more value to the more expensive cards in hand.

Hello Ian, good luck for you semi-marathon ! Personally I run 3 times a week for like 7 kilometers. It’s not my main activity though, I’m practicing callisthenics and jump rope too so I don’t really know what frequency is ideal. Hi Ian. Recently I ran 1km in under 5 mins. I would say, the best thing is to train legs in the gym and run in treadmill and in parks with different endurances. Like short sprints, long runs at 8km/hr on treadmill and leg extensions and squats to strengthen glutes and hams of your body. I do cardio running atleast twice a week. And that'll nice for u as well, as you've already given your body some stress from running 10k.
I used to be a competitive runner, competing in provincial (state) meets in highschool. Hearing you train and practice for races has inspired me to train again! Thank You!!!
I actually just ran a half marathon on Wednesday lol(not as a race, just for a chill longrun. It was a little slower, abt 7:50 per mile pace). It kind of depends how serious you are about running. If you’re not going tryhard mode then I would say 4-6 days a week is fine. Me personally, I train 6 days a week and then play pickleball on my day off as cross training. Also I would suggest only doing one “long run” a week, but you can add in a medium long run, which is kind of in between easy run and long run distance; that’s kind of the rule of thumb in the running world. Typically your longrun should be 20-30% of your total weekly mileage btw. And I would do what is called a “threshold run” maybe once a week or so, which is basically 40-60 minutes at a kind of hard ish pace, but at the same time it should feel really manageable(unless you just want to train only endurance and no speed, which is fine if you are just training more casually). Also, love hearing you say ice tiny😂😂
Well honestly the card is pretty balanced but is really annoying to face because it can be cycled real quickly and also considering the fact that champions take the power of the hog rider to next level because of the three card cycle . I would like to see a hog rider health nerf but i also really don't think it does deserve the nerf . Maybe if the hog meta is going for too long then it definitely deserves a slight health nerf.
@@fatchicken75 i definitely agree with you, goblin barrel can be cycled way more quickly than the hog rider but you can counter barrel really easily with log and when you dont have the log then you can use your troops to defend it and get a counter push. But in case of hog rider the buildings are the only things you would most likely prefer to use against it and due to the bomb tower's high hp you might think that hog is easily countered by that but let us really take it into consideration the bomb tower is pretty broken in terms of defense because even with earthquake it still defends. It is just the matter of time which changes the opinion on a card because of the meta. If bomb tower ever gets a massive health nerf then you would be seeing every player using hog riders. Defending the hog rider with troops is always never good , you may get a good counter push but it is going to deal damage to your towers. So all being said it is the meta that makes a card strong , i strongly agree that hog rider is a balnced card but the champions ruined it and hog rider synergises with them perfectly now if you say that you can nerf the champion by removing the three card cycle but then the entire purpose of the champion (which is to allow faster cycle to be removed) would be changed and make them pretty bad so the only thing they could do is to nerf the hog. Even though people think it is a dumb opinion, if the hog meta continues for more longer period then it will eventually be nerfed.
@@rebjr6615well if you think you can counter hog rider with cannon and tesla then you definitely are trying to defend the card because you use it and trying to call me a midladder player because you want to prove to others that i am talking crap about the card. Now when you said that we can defend a hog rider with a 3 or 4 elixir card with 7 elixir hog earthquake then it depends on how bad the other player is because the purpose of using hog and earthquake is to eliminate the defensive building and let the hog deal damage. Cannon and tesla will perish if the earthquake is placed on them . Now missing the earthquake spell is considered as a skill isuue which i think you most probably have.
I think the reason why most people, myself included, feel a bit of annoyance towards hog rider, is that when it's played and paired with something like earthquake or firecracker, the amount of effort required to counter it vs the effort for the opponent to play it is rather disproportionate, and it's a similar reason why people dislike cards like xbow and golem as well, that being said, I don't think the hog itself deserves a nerf since like I said what makes it super solid is it's synergies, love your content btw
Hog rider needs an increased detection rate of at least 1 more tile. It is ignoring all sorts of buildings and not working as intended. Supercell need to move to a revolving meta such as in Guild Wars : twice a year take the top 5 cards and nerf them so heavily they will drop out of the meta, then buff 5 cards selected carefully across the range by a significant amount. This keeps things fresh. In guild wars nobody complains they adjust and adapt and are so used to it they look forward to the shift in abilities being used cos in GW they change the skills not the classes. The other thing Supercell need to do is limit the number of 1 elixir cost cards per deck to 1 and the the number of 2 elixir cost cards per deck to 1 as well like they have for champions and evo cards. Get us out of the fast cycle boring meta asap and never ever go back. Make people think for a change not follow the top players and their gentlemans agreement on what sub set of cards they will accept. No wonder there are no female elite players with the state it is in now.
How to destroy a entire archetype and cards that rely on that archetype in one change. Removing cycle decks will kill xbow, Miner-Poison/WB, and pretty much kill any other win con that revolves around cycle. As an xbow player, xbow will go from the highest skilled win-con, thats not super strong, to absolute garbage since there isn’t it can do other buildings can’t and is very unviable as win-con
Running 4 times is fine, you need at least 1 full rest day. When I was competing I trained 6 days a week and it went like this: sprints day (for half marathon you can do 400m/800m/1km runs, with small rests in-between), then tempo day (medium distance run at competition target pace), then an active rest day( long run at easy pace). Then all over again, sprints into tempo into distance (this second time not really a rest day, but at medium tempo and longer distance) the 7th day was the full rest day. And then again, and again. The last week before competition you'll want to go very easy, stop with the short fast paced runs and just do a couple of medium distance easy runs, 3 or 4 times. You'll want to have your hardest training session around 10 days before race and then just relax and do easy runs. So you can go all out on race day.
Hey Ian, I ran cross country in college. We ran 5 times a week. Averaging close to 10 miles a day. We jogged a warm up of 1-2 miles and a cool down of 1-2 miles and then an actual work out anywhere from 4-6 mile workouts and we had two long runs a week. Which we ran about 10 miles without stopping. This was all training for 5 mile competition run. Use info at your own risk. Anyway love the videos keep it up 👍
I don't think forcing you to run a building in every deck or you just lose the matchup is very fair. I definitely agree with the assessment that it's one of those cards that is really good at low to mid ladder and falls off after that but I still think if cards like royal giant and hog weren't so good at what they do it would change the deck building of pretty much the whole game. I mean look at other wincons. Goblin barrel can be countered for a positive elixir trade in a million different ways or just by randomly spamming cards around the tower (not to mention that you're going to be playing a small spell anyways and that spell will just happen to counter the goblin barrel; with hog and rg you have to play a card entirely just to counter them). If you randomly spam cards vs. hog that aren't "hog counter" cards he will still probably get at least one hit. Like yeah "just play a building 4head" but you shouldnt have to play a building just to make hog a palpable matchup. I've personally always thought that certain defense targeting cards are pretty unfair ngl. Particularly it always feels like hog, balloon, and rg are in the meta in some form and they just feel so uninteractive. And it's not like they don't know how to balance these cards. I think most of the slow rolly giant cards and ram rider + battle ram are pretty balanced. It's specifically these cards that rush to hit the tower and always have these weird interactions where they don't get pulled when you think they should (like was showcased in the first game with balloon) or you play a skeleton army or a mini pekka a half a second too late or 1 tile to the right and are forced to take a hog hit. It just feels super cheesy. I feel like making these cards that are so fast and ignore everything also quite tanky has never been a good idea. Not to mention how they fingerblast the fuck out of your tower when they reach it like jesus christ why does a hog hit for more than 50% of a pekka's hit that's ludicrous. Of course the problem with nerfing their health is that then buildings REALLY counter them so I recognize for people that play those decks it isn't a great solution but the fact and the matter is they feel absolutely awful to play against. Sorry for the novel been loving your stuff recently btw lol keep it up.
I used to be in track/cross country in high school and would run up to 15 miles on my long days at a 7:00 per mile pace. My fasted times were 5k: 16:15 2 mile: 9:37 1 mile: 4:24 I’d recommend running at least 3-4 miles 6 days a week at a 7:30-8:00 pace to begin with.
I think firecracker should have it spikes reduced from 5 to 3, it would still has the same extent. The spikes itself would do more damage, to fit the current damage of the spikes, but more difficult to hit troops, and the poison would still doing the same damage, but being only 3 now
Most of these "Pros" use hog rider, ofc there gonna say it doesn't need a nerf. Only hog cyclers say it doesn't need a nerf. Which ofc is a lot of the community
Ok so Ian the problem with hog is that in low arenas people don't use buildings so hog rider always gets a hit and it doesn't matter if you use bomb tower because of over level cards and of corse the mighty miner with his bob and the ice spirit and the biggest problem the firehacker
@@awesome0621 it needs a nerf to hp so it stops getting 1hp shots. Someone have put clip on tiwtter where he put hunter and a monk for a hog and it still got a shot if you think its balanced then you shouldnt say anything about balancing in this game
if I look at the finishes after a season with the various win con. then you can see exactly that cards like hog, mortar and miner still need a nerf or the others need a buff. take a look at where cards like golem, giant (without gy), goblingiant, e-golem etc. are finished.
For running, if you are planning to run a half marathon you want to make sure you can run over 13/14 miles comfortably if you are trying to go for a good time. If you are just doing it for fun all you really need is to run a 10 miler like once a week to prepare. I run 6 days a week (about 60 miles) but I am a division 1 top high school athlete and i would never recommend that much running for a casual. 5 days a week is plenty just make sure you run enough miles a week so the race isn't a shock to your body. (About 20-25 miles a week is great) love the content man ❤
imma be real, honestly the only thing hog need is sight increase, that win condition feels to have such a little sight compare to other win conditions (outside maybe the air winconditions and maybe wall breakers), its not too rare to see hog just ignores thro a building you placed 1 tile to far to the left... or right, while something like ram rider or giant can and will target the broken cannon cart on the other lane
@@hungrygator4716 most decks have atleast 2 counters to him. and meta decks always have 2 atleast. ex. lavaloon has tombstone and barbs, hogquake has building and goblins + icespirit, even golem has building + tornado. logbait has inferno, goblin gang, rocket. there are many more decks like that too. outcyclying dont matter when more than 1 counter or similar elixir avarage.
I run track and cross country, and my recommendation to you is that you should do 4 times a week and out of those 4 days, make 2 of them an intense workout. Nutrition and getting sleep are 2 big keys to have success in having growth. You don't want to go hard 2 days before the race and drink enough water. 👍🏼
I got a video idea for Ian, you make a wheel with a bunch of top ladder decks, you skip the wheel and you try to win with the deck you get. Ian can also do that in a live stream so he could play a lot of games not like in his normal videos (4-5 game).
I’m just starting my summer training for XC season so only currently doing 40 miles a week. Gonna start building up my base for post season. But everyone is different. I would suggest having 1-3 easy/recovery runs a week, where you run super slow for a set amount of time. Take your mile pb time and add 3:00-4:00 and that should be your recovery pace.
Nice to see clash royale players being physically active, I also run 5 km pretty much every day, though i do take a day off when I decide to run more. Good luck on your half marathon!
I'm not a runner however. From my understanding you can cardio every day!! that being said. Over use injuries later in life will likely happen. " over use" worn out knees, ankles running is hard on hips back etc. Rest days are important. Hope this helps
The community tends to complain about the hog always getting one shot, so by slightly nerfing the first hit speed, it will he complained about less, but still be balanced.
Bad players just can't defend him. Only reason he's good rn is because firecracker evolution is broken on another level and mighty miner 3 card cycle, while both synergies with him. Any hog deck without a champ + op is average at best.
Lmao Mighty Miner is average (or maybe just because 2 of my cards are perfect counters) and EQ essentially nullifies most of his counters besides Bomb Tower (which isn't really balanced if only one card can reasonably counter). Couple that with the fast hit speed, health high enough to survive a rocker and low elixir cost for a win condition and that's the perfect recipe for a broken card
@@PeruvianPotato expected opinion for someone who says that mighty miner is the average card here. Yeah eq counters most of the buildings, they spent 7 elixir on like 3/4 elixir so ofc they're gonna break through. It's not that hard to play more cards or learn anti EQ placement, you're not locked to play one card like cmon common sense man. He isn't that tanky, his hp is decent nonetheless and rocket still counters him even with a tank like ice golem. If he wouldn't survive a rocket he would be very easily killed. 1.6 isn't a fast hit speed. 4 elixir isn't low. I've noticed that you can see how good of a player is by his opinions and most of the people who say hog is broken are just bad.
I’m doing about 70 miles per week. It’s really important to gradually build that mileage so your body can adjust easily to the larger volume. Good luck with the half marathon! Btw i’m the guy on strava 😂
Despite all 2.6 players say, I must say that it's about time this card gets a nerf. It makes the meta stale. I'm too point sick of 2.6. Movement speed reduced to be in between a charging and a non-charging battle ram. Fixes Pekka and mini-Pekka interaction when they either attack it from accross the map or they make up their mind Deploy time increased by 0.5s. Allow the opponent to actually defend with troops without taking tamage. Attack Speed Reduced. Allow Tornado pulls to be consistent and not within 5 frames or less. Also fixes the fact the Tornado pulling a Hog from tower will grant the Hog one hit regardless. Increase sight by 0.5 so can place buildings in the middle near river and still pull it. This is to prevent skilful one-tricks pig-pushes to prevent the Hog Rider to get to your tower. Also you can't earthquake bot h building and the tower in that scenario. Nerf the damage overall. The only difference between a Hog Rider attack and a Rocket is the sound effect, but they still deal same damage per hit. Maybe they should change that as well so he can fully bring the wrath of Thor onto your tower. And most importantly, lower the volume for its deployment, its deafening. No, dont make it higher pitch. Just lower it. Can already see the comment section spamming its warcry. An unspported ( without help from cards that kill or distract defenders ) Hog Rider should never get a hit on your tower.
Good luck on the half marathon, Ian! I'll be doing an OCR soon in August but I've been slacking on the cardio/running department only running like once a week 😅. As a calisthenics main, to me running isn't a really high impact activity compared to intense pull or push workouts, so 4-5 times a week is plenty with at least 2 rest days. I would suggest tho if you run on day 1 of the week, do some other cardio related workouts like HIIT so that your purely legs don't have to be pushed 2 days.
Yeah I used to do a lot of heavy cardio but have been dialing it down cause I’m trying to bulk up so now I’ve just been jogging for 10 minutes before every workout to get my blood pumping. I usually go for an long run/bike ride on the either Saturday or Sunday.
You don't want to run everyday, but if you do, make sure you have atleast two pairs of running shoes. Running compresses the soles of your shoes and you need to let them sit for atleast 24 hours for them to completely decompress
It needs a pull distance nerf cause istg that shit ignores my buildings 99 percent of the time. Same with balloon. Maybe also a slight speed reduction because its fast as shit especially with rage. That is like a one trick at this point
I think it needs a nerf in hp and buff in damage. It has far too much value for 4 elixir. It has better output than it should, surviving rocket, same speed as goblins and dealing 2/3 tower health all for literally 4 elixir
As much as I find it to be annoying, I do not think it needs a nerf. It's actually a balanced card, but the problem is that it somehow makes it's way to almost every deck and metas like it's some sorta spell card.
It's mainly the evo firecracker that makes that deck too strong, so getting that card balanced will keep that deck fair. I do think a slight hp nerf to the bomb tower is needed as well.
Am I insane for thinking that firecracker should die to log? I don't understand why it wouldn't when princess and dart goblin do, and they're arguably weaker units. Cracker already has built in evasion to spells anyways, why would it not?

Impo besides the obvious (firecracker) bomb tower should be the first nerf. It’s been prevalent in top tower for ever. I use it often and it’s bonkers that it can defend lava balloon pushes better then a Tesla if you support it right. Miner bomb tower is soooo boring to play and it’s always the bomb tower that makes it a chip damage battle hell
Just run what works for you as often as works for you. I used to run 10 miles once a week on a loop that had gradient the entire loop. Then I would take my dog for a walk, jello legs of pain. It made the running portion of a Spartan race I did an absolute joke.
That's the thing if hog rider was nerfed it would move meta away from needing a building all the time just to check it, I do agree the other cards need nerfs but another meta instead of cheap cycle cards and tower pressure is a bit boring
Log got nerfed in the last undeservedly, so did rocket and miner. Hog rider in its current state in meta definitely needs a nerf, but a small hp nerf tho. But so does bomb tower, mighty miner, and fc.

You know hog is broken when you play it into a card to distract then more cards being played on it just for it to get a hit still
Literally the same could be said about goblin barrel. Use your brain
@@fatchicken75 it's never good to finish any sentence with a deragotory statement.
@@lohitharcane5341BRO U CAN COUNTER 7 ELIXIR HOG EQ WITH A 3 OR 4 ELIXIR BUILDING AND CYCLE CARDS ITS NOT BROKEN UR JUST A MID LADDER PLAYER
Yeah I completely agree with you, but at the same time the hog is the win condition with the most counters in the game I feel like
@@chalo_gaming ...with most of those counters being completely terrible in the current meta right now.
@@PeruvianPotato Well I'm always facing tornado, mini pekka, pekka, and bomb towers hehe
Hog rider needs an increased detection rate of at least 1 more tile. It is ignoring all sorts of buildings and not working as intended. Supercell need to move to a revolving meta such as in Guild Wars : twice a year take the top 5 cards and nerf them so heavily they will drop out of the meta, then buff 5 cards selected carefully across the range
by a significant amount.
My fasted times were
5k: 16:15
2 mile: 9:37
1 mile: 4:24
I’d recommend running at least 3-4 miles 6 days a week at a 7:30-8:00 pace to begin with.
Fr fr, people just want to continue running the same one-trick-pony decks and never get any major falls for it
Most of the pros use most of the decks in the game 💀
@Ian77-ClashRoyale yeah, no originality. Hog rider is one of the reasons why.
i think hog should be dying to rocket + one tower shot. currently rocket +2 tower shots is overkill imo, a slight 2-3% health nerf would fix that.
Ok so Ian the problem with hog is that in low arenas people don't use buildings so hog rider always gets a hit and it doesn't matter if you use bomb tower because of over level cards and of corse the mighty miner with his bob and the ice spirit and the biggest problem the firehacker
Stop using mega knight and just use a building lol it’s not that hard
@@airforce3496 Hog users can't actually come up with a solid defense and so just resort to the same insults they've been using since 2021

if I look at the finishes after a season with the various win con. then you can see exactly that cards like hog, mortar and miner still need a nerf or the others need a buff. take a look at where cards like golem, giant (without gy), goblingiant, e-golem etc. are finished.
So nice of Ian to put Ryley in the intro
For running, if you are planning to run a half marathon you want to make sure you can run over 13/14 miles comfortably if you are trying to go for a good time. If you are just doing it for fun all you really need is to run a 10 miler like once a week to prepare. I run 6 days a week (about 60 miles) but I am a division 1 top high school athlete and i would never recommend that much running for a casual. 5 days a week is plenty just make sure you run enough miles a week so the race isn't a shock to your body. (About 20-25 miles a week is great) love the content man ❤
Yeah it is the defens and not the ofens witch makes this decks strong but hard to play at the same time
imma be real, honestly the only thing hog need is sight increase, that win condition feels to have such a little sight compare to other win conditions (outside maybe the air winconditions and maybe wall breakers), its not too rare to see hog just ignores thro a building you placed 1 tile to far to the left... or right, while something like ram rider or giant can and will target the broken cannon cart on the other lane
no lmao. hog alr gets hardcountered by almost all buildings, extending range where hog can see it just makes hog unplayable against a building
Hog rider is very easy to counter. Problem is when he's used in cycle decks so they out cycle your counters if they have a faster cycle than yours.
evo firecraker should have the health so that arrows can kill it cus it too op and doesn't diee

Hog is perfectly balanced!
*Faces Hog 9 times in a row the second I remove bomb tower from a deck*
Hog Rider decks are incredibly good because of the cards that synergize with it in the decks meant to make it get damage.
Fixes Pekka and mini-Pekka interaction when they either attack it from accross the map or they make up their mind
Deploy time increased by 0.5s.
2.6 is far from meta 💀
@@A7MDRetr0 24% use rate for Hog alone sounds meta to me. They have the data 😂 , only this time it aint a joke.

Personally as a pbs player with lvl 11 cards a lvl 15 hog is pretty scary
Ian always manages to talk as fast as an auction host

Props to Ian for keeping the ice tiny meme alive 😂
Does pekke should be buffed?

When I was in cross country, I’d run a minimum of 5mi a day, then twice a week do 8-10 miles. Starting off it was 3mi a day then 5-7mi twice a week
It's mainly the evo firecracker that makes that deck too strong, so getting that card balanced will keep that deck fair. I do think a slight hp nerf to the bomb tower is needed as well.
And don't forget 3 cycle champions
Am I insane for thinking that firecracker should die to log? I don't understand why it wouldn't when princess and dart goblin do, and they're arguably weaker units. Cracker already has built in evasion to spells anyways, why would it not?
The tiny variations: ice tiny 🥶, fire tiny 🔥, electro tiny ⚡️, and heal tiny ⭐️
“Pretty balance card” proceeds to almost always gets a hit with 0.5hp, same with loon. Both need the 1st hit speed reduced slightly.
Hog is fine. Firecracker deserves one though. Bigger one than they said.
I do not think Hog needs a nerf, however if i have to nerf the hog I would give it a slightly slower first hit attackspeed like plus 7 or 8%...
They should definitely do something about Evo firecracker

Impo besides the obvious (firecracker) bomb tower should be the first nerf. It’s been prevalent in top tower for ever. I use it often and it’s bonkers that it can defend lava balloon pushes better then a Tesla if you support it right. Miner bomb tower is soooo boring to play and it’s always the bomb tower that makes it a chip damage battle hell
