Loved this game as a kid. Almost passed it up because I thought the name was kind of stupid. Thankfully I gave it a chance. Main thing I remember from Lufia 1 is the insanely high encounter rate. Higher than any other RPG Ive played. Still enjoyed the game a ton.
Lufia 1&2 are both easily in my top 5 favorite games ever and I have played them countless times, yet I have still learned a few nice tips from your commentary so that was nice! :) Amazing to see how kinda useless most of the grinding and chests and equipment is in the end lol this game is what, like 20-25h when played casually... and it’s not like it makes the game THAT harder the way you did it.. oh well it’s still fun do it “normally” ;)
Lufia 2 is definitely in my top tier, one of the most creative games I have played. But having first played 2 and then later playing Lufia1, oof, Lufia 1 is rough to say the least.
The part that always got me stuck was the alumina for the ship every time i get to that part the last one i can never find so im always going back to each island to find it
1:22:30 oh. my. god. Yep, as a kid when I played this, I was stuck on this part for I don't know how long, and eventually gave up and literally did not touch the game for years. Then came back, just because, and got it right first try. Then consequently beat the game no problem after that from being so over leveled going back and forth from each tower.
To give some context, back then, not EVERYONE had a computer like they do now, and even the internet itself was still barely a thing, all we had was freakin AOL. I don't even think google was around until like 5+ years after this game came out. I was like 6 back then, playing games like this and Breath of Fire.
@@Kuljin20 Yeah games were like that back then. I played hundreds of hours of lufia2 back in the day, but never completed the game. It took me FIFTEEN YEARS until I managed to get past the "destroy all the flowers" puzzle in the dragon mountain (due to being able to look the damn thing up online).
I know I've finished this at some point years ago. But the biggest question is how? This game seems utterly hateful of it's players sometimes. Lufia 2 for life, though.
I played Lufia as a kid thanks to a friend, and eventually came across Lufia II at the video rental store. I was so excited. Such quality improvement.
Taito did a really good job with the 2 lufia games on the SNES. I've played both and holy shit I love them so much

That battle with Follower was Delightful. Whaaaat a troooooll.
Loving this Lufiathon.
And man nice 2:57:00 advance level grinding strats.
Never seen a Lufia game in action but this looks solid
The second game is by far superior

There is a little story in Lufia II about the flowers Lufia likes so much in the I.
Awesome run! Thanks!
The Sinistrals are still around even today. Don't believe me? Iris backwards is Siri.
You just blew my fucking mind

Oh my God, the bosses are activating neurons I haven't used in ages. Dark Ghost! I remember that son of a bitch!
42:20 doe sit break the game if you solo with Lufia after that point? Be curious to find out.

Oh man, that Follower fight was tough to watch lol
This game is So Satisfying for some reason !!! 🌈
wish this would come to the switch.

Lufia 2 for life, though.
For all I know, the last thing I wanna see is a theory between this particular part of the series and ys...
What in the actual universe was that phantasm
What the Griffith frack was that gargoyle1:18 in. Jesus this guy is a legend .

No Lufia 3 in the lufiathon?
I do believe if you grind up to like lvl 70 in New Game+ the Sinistrals will just run from you. It's pretty silly.
I always thought the bosses were to easy. What is retry mode and is it available on the snes?
You had to complete the game and start again
