Not easy at all, speaking from experience. It took me 5 years to heal and not feel any kind of way whenever I saw my ex-husband to exchange our child. It sucks but the hurt/pain doesn't last forever.

Exactly. I was shocked when someone asked why I didn't change my name back to my maiden name. Not divorced, but my husband died a few years ago. It has been my name since I was 18 yrs old. I'm now 48. It is who I am and who I have been my entire adulthood. It is my family's name, our 5 living children's name, our deceased baby's name. I am also still his wife, as his widow, and very proud to be. Why would I ever change it, and why would anyone have an issue or even feel they have input in who I am?

Am I the only one that has a problem with them asking her about her ex Kevin Hart when he is now in another relationship with the mother of his children and married for many years now. Like why are we still talking about this man when this woman has her own life and situations going on. She is much more than just her ex-husband.

She is the mother of his first (2)children and was his wife at a point. Also she's not remarried.

I love her honesty, and that she "decided" to be joyful. It was a conscious decision and that is the key piece. Torrei is so cool. Continued success and blessings on their family.

@@consciousluv Many women do keep their marital name for business purposes and for their kids. Changing the name would actually come off as petty because it's not that easy. You'd have to get new passport, drivers license, bank account details, everything you have in that name will need to be changed and that includes and businesses or assets. It's a lot of work and for whose benefit?
Now, if she married someone new then I'd understand her wanting to change it.

I’m a licensed clinical therapist and love Iyanla. She’s a great life coach with her flaws like many. I wish her show was still recording new shows.

I actually WATCHED Kevin Hart’s live content (like when he did instagram lives and facebook lives) back when he was with Torrei Hart. She is a SUPER funny person also, and very quick-witted and you know he married her for a reason. Now that Kevin’s oldest daughter is all grown up compared to back then, the little clips I’ve seen of her that Kevin’s family has put out on social media, she reminds me THE MOST of everything I’ve seen of Torrei Hart. Level-headed, sharp, and just funny and caring

These comments are something. The most important thing is that she is healing from the pain that Kevin caused her. She's working on herself for improvement, that's the important piece. It's not easy to get through this type of heartache and still keep it together because you share a child(ren), I know from experience as my ex-husband did the same to me and we share a child and now he ain't even with the female anymore. Looks ain't everything and won't get you far, looks don't last forever but the heart and mind does, folks don't understand that.

I'd probably keep his last name (too) not because of matching names with the kids but because I'm a little lazy about changing government documents. But when we got our divorce in Tx they had questions they asked to see if we agreed in everything. One was about the last name if said something like does she keep her last name or change it to her maiden name. It was the same in Mi. On the paper I came to that question an I put on there I wanted my last name back. He wanted me to keep his we didn't have kids or anything. Both times it was that way.

I agree with the last names and school. As a child who had a different last name than her mother and now as a mother who has different last name as her sons. I have to change it soon, but it’s just feels different.

No not at all Men like Kevin can be very selfish and don't know how to deal with their own shortcomings so they make choices, gratifying self and end up hurting the ones they suppose to love. Why was he so done? I've seen an interview with the both of them from like 10 years ago. I think he was jealous of her career aspirations to get into the same business as he was in, that she always wanted to be in as well but supported him while raising their kids. He wanted all the shine and couldn't get over the fact she want to be more than a stay at home mom. Why do people cheat and lie, many reasons but none have anything to do with the person they cheated on and lie to and every thing to do with their own character flaws.
I really enjoyed listening to this pure positivity and love. It's influential and I know they're great parents more children who have parents separated need to be in this type of environment. Xxxx
The hardest thing I have ever done was co-parent. It’s really sad when parents will not put their kids happiness above their egos or pride. It also changes the person your child or children will become. Me and my ex got alone so good even after I married. We would have birthday party together, coached her basketball ball team together and he would come to our house on Christmas morning to see what Santa got her. Then one day he gets this new girlfriend. He started honking the horn when he picked her up and wouldn’t speak to me at all when the girlfriend was around. Then the talk came how things had to change because he was getting married and he needed to put his wife feelings first. My daughter was 6 we hadn’t been together over 5 years and I was married for over 3 years. The changes crushed my daughters heart and he never could see how happy it made her when we got alone. They had a ruff relationship and never got a chance to fix it because he passed away when she was 19. It’s been few years now and his wife has yet to give my daughter one thing of his not even a T-shirt. It kills me because I even know he would want her to have something.
