It may not be moondrop's intention but DSP iems are actually providing an easy entry for iPhone users to higher quality music (rip lightning models) by simply plugging in and ready to go. Since iPhone doesn't have any Bluetooth codec besides aac, and Apple Music, which is made for iPhone devices at the first place, is now offering hires to lossless audio. DSP iem seems to become an affordable and convenient option for those who want to have high quality audio on their iPhones. Dongles generally offer higher quality than DSP iems undoubtedly, thus it seems that DSP iem is an alternative between dongle and tws (And yes moondrop's freeDSP actually can turn all iems into DSP iems technically haha)
I lost my airpod pros so i got these KZ ZVX from random shop with apple type c dongle, I saw some singers were using such kind of earphones I never knew these are some of the best passive noise isolating earphones, I'm blown away how they sound and the bass, I could hear each instrument without distorting each other, I got these for 20$ ffs , after little research here I am in IEM rabbit hole... Where do I go from here? Should I order Chu2 will I hear the difference?
@@FJ10A welcome to the IEM world haha, i have owned a ZAX and i believe i have heard the ZVX for once, the sound signature of these two are something i would call ''kz's style', powerful and strong bass while having good seperation between each elements in the song. For Moondrop, i have not heard of the chu2 yet but i have owned a couple of it's products like the MAY, aria 2 and the successor chu1. They all have the 'Moondrop Signature', quick and responsive bass, brighten vocal (may not seem obvious on female vocal but male vocal yes), the treble may appear to be thin and clear. For classic rock/R&B genre, i would prefer KZ's iem over Moondrop but when it comes to songs like JPop/Anime, Moondrop's iem would be fitting so well.
