I absolutely LOVED this video. I only have Sephora play and the regular ipsy one right now. I received boxycharm about three times and cancelled. I love when subscription boxes send more well-known brands because you can more easily verify the actual retail value they're telling you. There has been some stuff I've got in boxycharm... There is no way the retail is correct lol
Hi, Desiree! I'm glad you like it! Another thing that lessens the value is that some of the products are things that start to turn up at TJ Maxx which devalues them in my opinion. Of course finding something at TJ Maxx can be so luck of the draw, but recently I found Kevyn Aucoin's most recent face palette there! The one with shadows and face products!

I have had a completely different experience with ipsy. I have gotten one broken product and they sent me a new one with no issues. I also had a missing item once,and I was sent one with no issues. I do get liquid eyeliners once in a while, which I rarely use. My friend loves them and so I give them to her, do for me not such a big deal. I will say that 111skin stuff is amazing and I will be do sad when it runs out cause I totally can't afford it at retail price.
I'm glad that Ipsy has worked out for you! There is a box for everyone. I need to try some of that 111 Skin then... If I ever grab Ipsy again, I think I am leaning more towards the Glam Bag Plus at $25. The large one doesn't seem to be there just yet.
I currently have boxycharm glam plus. And I got that 111skin booster anti pollution oil and honestly only used it twice and it works so well with it cosmetics gel moisturizer if you have oily skin. (Bought that one in sephora) and yes 111skin retails at a crazy price. I have only got 2 boxes so far. I really think that $25 a month Is really worth it. I should get ipsy for full size products in the middle of August I think and then I just signed up for birchbox sample. I'm a starting out MUA and esthetician so I think its important to see what is out there.

I have a lot of sub boxes too and I canceled Ipsy bc they were sending me literal crap. Boxy is so so. I get all three but I never heard of the proscription box so I may look into it. New sub. Wish I'd seen this like 2 days ago. I got an ipsy membership, and I also bought $70 worth of hair stuff. THEY CHARGED ME TWICE for the $70, to make $140! Apparently this happens often, as it was one of the answers on there questions answered section. Like wtf.
In most cases when you see this happening, you were only actually charged once, the other was the authorization which might look like a charge but will not go past the "pending" stage then will drop off your account. It is simply a hold that the bank puts on that money to reserve it until the retailer charges you for the purchase. The money for the pending charge stays in your account the entire time, it is just frozen. Once the retailer charges you , the bank will unfreeze the hold and the pending authorization will just disappear from your account.
I am over the subscription boxes I have decided to just spend my money on what I want. I received 3 primers in two months and primer is on my least wanted from boxycharm.
I know this vid is a year old but it's the only one out there that I found! Luther people who monthly, affiliate, Unboxing videos but nothing like this, so thank you and I appreciate the links because it makes it easier for people like myself who aren't very good at finding the boxes!

I know this is an older video but I just was suggested it and I am loving it. I want a new box. A beauty box. Like actually makeup... I am done with skincare heavy boxes that I subbed to fit makeup. I totally dig an Indie brand. Indie brand have almost always been a total hit. You can't go wrong. Love getting an eyrshadow palette every month and to me the rest of the box is just bonus items. Total box value isn't a huge deal to me. My main concern is getting products I can use. Indie branded eyeshadow palettes are a win for me.
I love your vids. Others get product free so I don't trust them. Your honesty is very much appreciated, and I will absolutely use your links. I haven't bought any subscription boxes in about a year so I could use what I had. I joined IPSY when they first began, like I got the very first box and stayed with them for a while. When they began getting the premium cosmetics, they wouldn't have enough to go around, so only those who had a UA-cam channel received them. They gave everyone a BS excuse why they chose to do that. They had also began sending cheap clown makeup. A bright neon teal eyeliner with glitter, bright neon pink/purple lipstick, and other equally horrible colors. I canceled, and won't ever go back.
I can definitely see that. It’s definite more focused on Indie Brands and I do like that they sometimes collaborate with influencers to curate the boxes. Those have been my favorite ones!
Too bad we weren't able to see more of the products such as color & swatches...{EDIT}: However! *Finally* someone who is brutally honest about these boxes! I appreciate that much more than a giggly 40+ yr. old saying "how cute" the bullshit is that was curated 'just for them'! Then another purchaser received the same product(s). When you uncovered the fact that some of this stuff (that you wouldn't have gone outta your way to buy) was a gift w/purchase cracked me up! A very straight forward review of the "beauty boxes"!

BoxyCharm was one of my most faves but then to many products starting arriving broken. I did Ipsy 2 years and I got tired of the same brush but loved the masks and I always new we'd get a mascara at most 9 times in an entire year. Tribe beauty seems like a box I would like to try but I'm still not up for the broken products.
I can completely understand the frustration over broken products. It is okay if it happens from time to time because of shipping or whatever, but if it becomes all too frequent, I would lose my patience too!
Hi Yori! What a fun video! I don’t have any box subscriptions so it’s always fun to see what people get in them. The Fab Fit Fun looked very nice. Love Rebecca Minkoff. The last Boxy Charm one looked great as well. Idk why they say the Fresh Soy Cleanser is $48 bc it’s $38 lol. I know this bc I just bought a new tube of it. I’ve used it for a few years now and really love it. And that Rikki mirror though! I have been wanting one of those but didn’t know how good they were. I love makeup erasers too. I have one strictly to clean my brushes off between colors or between washes. You’ll have to let us know if you have any standout products from everything you got. Thanks for the video!💕
I have so much fun with the boxes! In general, I usually feel I get my money's worth even if they inflate prices a bit, LOL. I do love the Rikki mirrors, and if you do a lot of touch ups on the go, the Rikki Cutie is worth it. It gets super bright. Otherwise, I would go for the Rikki Skinny which you can use on your vanity and includes a magnified attachment. Beautylish and Ulta carry both of them, and non prestige coupons work on them at Ulta. I showed these in a previous haul. ❤
I just canceled ipsy and will make it my life long goal to save new victims from getting suckered into them. Dont do they are a scam and don't care about anything but your money. They don't even ship half their customers their products. They owe me so much money that I doubt I'll ever see. Thank you for this video to looking at better options.
I really appreciate that you are honest about not being affiliated with the companies that you review. It is a big turn off to me when podcasters don't state this right up front. Who wants to pay a fortune for a cosmetic just to find out afterwards that the reviewer was compensated?
I have Ipsy currently and I'm very tempted to change to Boxycharm. Some of the items are ones that I would've picked myself but it could be just a universal shade. I've had two eyeshadows that are too dark for me but I can thankfully give them to friends. I've had the subscription for a year even and I haven't had issues other than some missed emails when you're supposed to 'pick an item' and a missing AddOn brush that they credited immediately to my account. Might get a Proscription box subscription. Peter Thomas Roth makes amazing masks, I had it on my Sephora wish list. And Laura Mercier
I have been rating my Ipsy products since I first subscribed. I have no idea why they keep sending nail polish when I clearly tell them I hate them. LOL. I am glad they are doing better for you!
You can actually right into them and opt out of a product altogether like I do not like nail Polish so I put rarely and I never receive it but I opted out Liquid eyeliner because I was receiving it every month now they can't promise that you will never receive it but they will certainly try not to send it to you and the reason that you are receiving it is because if you look at the rest of the products for the month which I have noticed and done they always do a very very good job at picking the items that were right for me by my preferences they do not have that many items a month to begin with so if they can get most of them because they only have a certain number of variations to work with then that's what they will pick. Also I think you just had a bad ipsy rep Because honestly I have had them for 3 years in their customer service is absolutely amazing if you ever have a problem with them start a completely different email to them and explain your issue they have always jumped through hoops for me and boxy charm has been terrible I have had them for 3 years only had to contact them twice but it was a nightmare
I have Ipsy, the middle subscription, Ipsy plus I think. This is my 1st time entering the beauty box/bag monthly thing. Honestly didn’t know these even existed. I’ve gotten Ipsy delivered the past several months with my next one in transit now. The 1st one was AmaZzing! I got a really great primer, concealer, foundation, liquid lipstick(Love) finishing powder...I was So excited! Mostly pleased with everything I got. Each month after it seems they Aren’t hearing me. When I check RARELY when asked abt eyeliner & I get 2 in a row along with the Same Brown lip color I start questioning my subscription. I’m a newbie so I definitely need to do my part & Research. I even took my complaints to Ipsy via email & surprisingly they were quickly responsive! That’s a big plus but the 1 thing I’d love to see with Ipsy is more Well known, name brand products. There’s NO point in asking to select the brands you personally like & use if they Never have them available in the first place. I’m sticking with them at least another month or 2 to see if things start improving. A girl can only have so many Brown shades of lip color & where is the Primer I really need?? Loved the 1st one bt that was gone within 2 weeks. I can’t really compare to any other subscription bc this is my first one. All in all I rate them abt a 6-7 out of 10. So far. My ideal beauty subscription wld include both skin care such as great cleanser, toner, eye treatment/moisturizer And the rest Makeup. No nail polish or hair care & please not another Mask in Evvvery months bag.
Boxycharm is turning into a joke. Customer service is terrible, shipping is a joke, and they seem to only send the really good stuff to influencers...who also seem to be the only ones who get their boxes on time. Now they are using covid as a crutch/excuse for their terrible shipping/customer service/ overall bad business practices. Been with them 3 months and cancelling it just isn't worth it. I'll find a good subscription that will be worth my money and won't dick me around like boxy is doing to all of their actual paying customers. On another note, I enjoyed this video and found it very informative a few services have caught my eye and I will be looking into them further.
Hello all you beautiful women. Just wanted to give you a heads up on the majority of name brand items. If you find something you love do not go to the company to buy another bottle when you can get the product for 1/2 the price through Walmart.com. They don’t sell name brand products in the store but they certainly do on the website. I’ve been much more impressed by them verses Amazon. Salon Shampoos sell for great prices. Check it out for yourself. You’ll see what I’m talking about. As always and forever...stay fabulous❣️

I love boxycharm,I did quit boxycharm and switch to ipsy for 4 months because I wS getting touch skincare but when I quit I let them know why ,I decided to go back to boxycharm and since I've returned I have been getting a lot more makeup and I'm completely satisfied
No they are not fake products I do watch or and I appreciate her are investigating but it was talked about with the owner himself and he said absolutely not there are no fake products in these boxes. This is advertisement for those brands so they wouldn't want a low quality product representing them that's not going to get them any customers. And it would be extremely illegal the owner said That they work with very reputable brands and they certainly would catch on if they were sneaking counterfeit products in the boxes
I can tell you that you're right about the beauty quiz on Ipsy being disregarded. I'm a seller on EBay and since I love beauty stuff I'm often watching the market for everything. Everyone who sells their ipsy box, on eBay, mercari, Poshmark, etc, they all have the same exact items between them. I mean exactly, I think the only difference is sometimes the person has less, so I guess they decided to keep some things. Maybe they keep one thing and sell the rest to make their money back.. but anyway, it definitely seems like brands like this are just selling dead stock not many people want because if you search those products online, there is a lot for sale. Crazy! But thanks for sharing your opinion on them all! I'm definitely treating myself to one of these for Mothers day!!

I'm a select member for FFF and I try to get my add ons as soon as they become available, but most of the time 1/4 of the products are already sold out. I don't know why. . .maybe they only have a few of certain items and their employees get first choice? Also, sometimes items are sold out and then magically reappear later as not sold out. . .I have to keep checking their site. But, I do appreciate getting my choice of customizing so that makes it worth it to me.
Absolutely not, I definitely want both of them, I can't afford a lot of the skin care, the makeup is fine, but it's just makeup, I want something that's going to help with wrinkles, dark circles, health, hydration, a lot of people complain about getting skin care, but the older you get, the more you realize you need it.
Yeah... to me, Ipsy is an Oopsie.... The midrange box from them seems to be the best one, in my opinion. Though last time they had a Bailey Sarian collab palette and I missed out, but that's okay. I really wasn't happy with Ipsy overall.
I get Ipsy and yea its been good BUT I think your right about them not reading the actual quiz because I tell them I don't like eyeliner and they keep sending them every other box.

Yes... Now they are putting the key choice and add-on dates on their website at least, so I have just put the date in my calendar and set an alarm. It would be much easier if they would just send out their emails.

Boxycharm is better and I feel that they are following the beauty quiz better. You can elect to receive a 50/50 makeup/skincare or a preference of one over the other.
Informative video! Thank you! I was big into Ipsy years ago, when it was just the $12 bag. Then I went for the glam bag plus, then stopped. Then couple years later started it again, it was not impressive, so I upped to the glam bag X & have been happy, didn't really love this last one. So far, right now, the flash sales are the best thing, imo. Hopefully, I'll find something else to try by watching the rest of your video. Also, with Ipsy, it takes Soo long for buying items in the sales, not in the box, to ship! 💁🏻♀️ I'm holding out tho!

40:04 facial roller is probably one of the unique and wellness-anti-aging items, that is why you get a box to try-see if they do something great for you! Not a recognized brand, they charge much more and isn’t that the reason to ‘try’ and get a box.
Thank you for this video. I've been looking for a makeup/skincare subscription to replace my BodyGuard base and Premium boxes. I've given them a year and a half to work with me but it's just not working for me especially since I end up spending $150 plus most months .That tells you how unhappy I've become with them and their lack of caring for my business. Boxycharm aka BOXYCON has the worst customer service ever‼️‼️ They don’t look at the profiles ever. If you’re dark you get light products‼️🤨 They forget to include items and they won’t send it so you’re screwed‼️🤨 They show luxury items that that seems no one gets‼️
Not to mention they rarely if ever reply to their messages and when they do the replies are generic scripted b.s and they use the pandemic as their new excuse for garbage service and incompetence when it comes to shipping and broken promises etc. They are basically a bait and switch. Your first month or two might go okay and then bam they start sending cheap crap and it comes super late if it comes at all etc. I was extremely disappointed by them and now looking for a new service to spend my money on. My nails and one beauty box a month are like my gifts to myself...self care in a sense and it sucks when you wind up basically getting duped.

I managed to do it. You have to select to cancel on the website, but then also make sure you get the confirmation email to confirm the cancelation. If you miss it, they don't cancel the subscription.
Great video! The "retail prices" are set by the manufacturer though so aren't being inflated by the different beauty box companies. Hardly anyone sells at full retail price, unless it's a very hard to get item, or it's a retailer that sells at full price and routinely provides large coupons so you think you are getting great deals :) . And this is true for almost all consumer products, not just beauty products.
That’s true… I didn’t mean to “blame” the beauty box company for it. 😅 It’s like certain stores set prices but ALWAYS have coupons. It bugs me. LOL! I wish they would just price things the correct way and stop with the marketing tactics.

But the retail list prices SHOULD reflect the actual quality of the product, so as long as the manufacturer is fairly truthful when setting the retail price (not giving a luxury value to an economy product, for example, which some do) it should still be useful when trying products you aren't familiar with, to know what quality level of products they should be comparable to.

Loved your video ! Recently subscribed to Boxy Charm wasn't too thrilled with my box.It was really small . Got the notification for the pop up , there' wasn't really great products to choose from for 2 selections. Like the discounts that you can purchase .
I only picked up a few things from the popup... If you don't enjoy the items, it is better to then put that money towards something that you will really love and enjoy.
I've had issues cancelling my subscription with boxy charm and ipsy. Ipsy did refund me when it happened, which was nice. Ultimately both boxy charm and ipsy felt redundant. Oh, and the amount of bags you end up having from your ipsy subscription is nuts! I've donated like 8 of them. I currently get the allure beauty box and it's ok. For $15 it's pretty good. I don't like that they send things that are not actually that great for you, like a walnut face scrub, and in the booklet they sing the products praises. Just feels dishonest.

I can totally understand that! At least this one only comes four times a year. It gives more time to really use and test out the products before you are receiving more!
I had several boxes a couple years ago and they are great when you’re newer to makeup, etc, but I find for the $, I can do my own research and purchase my own products that I know I’ll love. I mean $200 a year is a lot of makeup, if that’s all I truly want.

I know this is an older video but I just was suggested it and I am loving it.
I want a new box. A beauty box. Like actually makeup... I am done with skincare heavy boxes that I subbed to fit makeup.
I totally dig an Indie brand. Indie brand have almost always been a total hit. You can't go wrong. Love getting an eyrshadow palette every month and to me the rest of the box is just bonus items.
Total box value isn't a huge deal to me. My main concern is getting products I can use. Indie branded eyeshadow palettes are a win for me.
I heard so many bad things about ipsy. Especially that people have a hard time canceling and getting their money returned.

I love your vids. Others get product free so I don't trust them. Your honesty is very much appreciated, and I will absolutely use your links. I haven't bought any subscription boxes in about a year so I could use what I had.
I joined IPSY when they first began, like I got the very first box and stayed with them for a while. When they began getting the premium cosmetics, they wouldn't have enough to go around, so only those who had a UA-cam channel received them. They gave everyone a BS excuse why they chose to do that. They had also began sending cheap clown makeup. A bright neon teal eyeliner with glitter, bright neon pink/purple lipstick, and other equally horrible colors. I canceled, and won't ever go back.

I can definitely see that. It’s definite more focused on Indie Brands and I do like that they sometimes collaborate with influencers to curate the boxes. Those have been my favorite ones!
I use walmart brushes and honestly they have never shedded and they are pretty soft
I got my favorite brushes from my local bi-mart and they are amazing!
Too bad we weren't able to see more of the products such as color & swatches...{EDIT}: However! *Finally* someone who is brutally honest about these boxes! I appreciate that much more than a giggly 40+ yr. old saying "how cute" the bullshit is that was curated 'just for them'! Then another purchaser received the same product(s). When you uncovered the fact that some of this stuff (that you wouldn't have gone outta your way to buy) was a gift w/purchase cracked me up! A very straight forward review of the "beauty boxes"!
FINALLY! Seriously finally a UA-camr that does NOT say “now without any further a do” fuck man that drives me just bananas !!! She didn’t do that though , I legit subscribed based on just that and obviously because she has a NON annoying voice and she loves make up as do I lolol

BoxyCharm was one of my most faves but then to many products starting arriving broken. I did Ipsy 2 years and I got tired of the same brush but loved the masks and I always new we'd get a mascara at most 9 times in an entire year. Tribe beauty seems like a box I would like to try but I'm still not up for the broken products.
I can completely understand the frustration over broken products. It is okay if it happens from time to time because of shipping or whatever, but if it becomes all too frequent, I would lose my patience too!
Hi Yori! What a fun video! I don’t have any box subscriptions so it’s always fun to see what people get in them. The Fab Fit Fun looked very nice. Love Rebecca Minkoff. The last Boxy Charm one looked great as well. Idk why they say the Fresh Soy Cleanser is $48 bc it’s $38 lol. I know this bc I just bought a new tube of it. I’ve used it for a few years now and really love it. And that Rikki mirror though! I have been wanting one of those but didn’t know how good they were. I love makeup erasers too. I have one strictly to clean my brushes off between colors or between washes. You’ll have to let us know if you have any standout products from everything you got. Thanks for the video!💕
I have so much fun with the boxes! In general, I usually feel I get my money's worth even if they inflate prices a bit, LOL. I do love the Rikki mirrors, and if you do a lot of touch ups on the go, the Rikki Cutie is worth it. It gets super bright. Otherwise, I would go for the Rikki Skinny which you can use on your vanity and includes a magnified attachment. Beautylish and Ulta carry both of them, and non prestige coupons work on them at Ulta. I showed these in a previous haul. ❤
I just canceled ipsy and will make it my life long goal to save new victims from getting suckered into them. Dont do they are a scam and don't care about anything but your money. They don't even ship half their customers their products. They owe me so much money that I doubt I'll ever see. Thank you for this video to looking at better options.
I really appreciate that you are honest about not being affiliated with the companies that you review. It is a big turn off to me when podcasters don't state this right up front. Who wants to pay a fortune for a cosmetic just to find out afterwards that the reviewer was compensated?
I know what you mean... It is important to me to know that the person recommending something is honest enough to say if they are being paid or not.
I have Ipsy currently and I'm very tempted to change to Boxycharm. Some of the items are ones that I would've picked myself but it could be just a universal shade. I've had two eyeshadows that are too dark for me but I can thankfully give them to friends. I've had the subscription for a year even and I haven't had issues other than some missed emails when you're supposed to 'pick an item' and a missing AddOn brush that they credited immediately to my account.
Might get a Proscription box subscription. Peter Thomas Roth makes amazing masks, I had it on my Sephora wish list. And Laura Mercier
I've actually had a VERY positive experience with ipsy
I love my ipsy glam bag plus. I find it is really important to rate the products. I like it better than boxycharm.
I have been rating my Ipsy products since I first subscribed. I have no idea why they keep sending nail polish when I clearly tell them I hate them. LOL. I am glad they are doing better for you!
@@PersonalBeautyLab yeah that's weird cuz as soon as I told them to stop sending nail polish it stopped. 🤷
You can actually right into them and opt out of a product altogether like I do not like nail Polish so I put rarely and I never receive it but I opted out Liquid eyeliner because I was receiving it every month now they can't promise that you will never receive it but they will certainly try not to send it to you and the reason that you are receiving it is because if you look at the rest of the products for the month which I have noticed and done they always do a very very good job at picking the items that were right for me by my preferences they do not have that many items a month to begin with so if they can get most of them because they only have a certain number of variations to work with then that's what they will pick. Also I think you just had a bad ipsy rep Because honestly I have had them for 3 years in their customer service is absolutely amazing if you ever have a problem with them start a completely different email to them and explain your issue they have always jumped through hoops for me and boxy charm has been terrible I have had them for 3 years only had to contact them twice but it was a nightmare

I tried Ipsy and it’s a oopsy!
I have Ipsy, the middle subscription, Ipsy plus I think. This is my 1st time entering the beauty box/bag monthly thing. Honestly didn’t know these even existed. I’ve gotten Ipsy delivered the past several months with my next one in transit now. The 1st one was AmaZzing! I got a really great primer, concealer, foundation, liquid lipstick(Love) finishing powder...I was So excited! Mostly pleased with everything I got. Each month after it seems they Aren’t hearing me. When I check RARELY when asked abt eyeliner & I get 2 in a row along with the Same Brown lip color I start questioning my subscription. I’m a newbie so I definitely need to do my part & Research. I even took my complaints to Ipsy via email & surprisingly they were quickly responsive! That’s a big plus but the 1 thing I’d love to see with Ipsy is more Well known, name brand products. There’s NO point in asking to select the brands you personally like & use if they Never have them available in the first place. I’m sticking with them at least another month or 2 to see if things start improving. A girl can only have so many Brown shades of lip color & where is the Primer I really need?? Loved the 1st one bt that was gone within 2 weeks. I can’t really compare to any other subscription bc this is my first one. All in all I rate them abt a 6-7 out of 10. So far. My ideal beauty subscription wld include both skin care such as great cleanser, toner, eye treatment/moisturizer And the rest Makeup. No nail polish or hair care & please not another Mask in Evvvery months bag.

Oh Boxycharm was called out by Jen Luv Reviews for them putting knockoffs in the box. I canceled them because they don’t GAF PERIOD!!!
If you didn't enjoy it, you are MUCH better off putting that money towards something that you really need or will enjoy!
Boxycharm is turning into a joke. Customer service is terrible, shipping is a joke, and they seem to only send the really good stuff to influencers...who also seem to be the only ones who get their boxes on time. Now they are using covid as a crutch/excuse for their terrible shipping/customer service/ overall bad business practices. Been with them 3 months and cancelling it just isn't worth it. I'll find a good subscription that will be worth my money and won't dick me around like boxy is doing to all of their actual paying customers. On another note, I enjoyed this video and found it very informative a few services have caught my eye and I will be looking into them further.

Hello all you beautiful women. Just wanted to give you a heads up on the majority of name brand items. If you find something you love do not go to the company to buy another bottle when you can get the product for 1/2 the price through Walmart.com. They don’t sell name brand products in the store but they certainly do on the website. I’ve been much more impressed by them verses Amazon. Salon Shampoos sell for great prices. Check it out for yourself. You’ll see what I’m talking about. As always and forever...stay fabulous❣️

I love boxycharm,I did quit boxycharm and switch to ipsy for 4 months because I wS getting touch skincare but when I quit I let them know why ,I decided to go back to boxycharm and since I've returned I have been getting a lot more makeup and I'm completely satisfied

The issue about the ciate blush from boxycharm and the storybook pallet were exposed as fakes. Not so evil step mom video explains it.
No they are not fake products I do watch or and I appreciate her are investigating but it was talked about with the owner himself and he said absolutely not there are no fake products in these boxes. This is advertisement for those brands so they wouldn't want a low quality product representing them that's not going to get them any customers. And it would be extremely illegal the owner said That they work with very reputable brands and they certainly would catch on if they were sneaking counterfeit products in the boxes
So was the Kypris and Ciate. Way too much fake. Changed ingredients and made in China.

I can tell you that you're right about the beauty quiz on Ipsy being disregarded. I'm a seller on EBay and since I love beauty stuff I'm often watching the market for everything. Everyone who sells their ipsy box, on eBay, mercari, Poshmark, etc, they all have the same exact items between them. I mean exactly, I think the only difference is sometimes the person has less, so I guess they decided to keep some things. Maybe they keep one thing and sell the rest to make their money back.. but anyway, it definitely seems like brands like this are just selling dead stock not many people want because if you search those products online, there is a lot for sale. Crazy! But thanks for sharing your opinion on them all! I'm definitely treating myself to one of these for Mothers day!!

I'm a select member for FFF and I try to get my add ons as soon as they become available, but most of the time 1/4 of the products are already sold out. I don't know why. . .maybe they only have a few of certain items and their employees get first choice? Also, sometimes items are sold out and then magically reappear later as not sold out. . .I have to keep checking their site. But, I do appreciate getting my choice of customizing so that makes it worth it to me.
I would really like a box that only has cosmetics and no skincare.

Absolutely not, I definitely want both of them, I can't afford a lot of the skin care, the makeup is fine, but it's just makeup, I want something that's going to help with wrinkles, dark circles, health, hydration, a lot of people complain about getting skin care, but the older you get, the more you realize you need it.

Yeah... to me, Ipsy is an Oopsie.... The midrange box from them seems to be the best one, in my opinion. Though last time they had a Bailey Sarian collab palette and I missed out, but that's okay. I really wasn't happy with Ipsy overall.
I get Ipsy and yea its been good BUT I think your right about them not reading the actual quiz because I tell them I don't like eyeliner and they keep sending them every other box.
The funny thing is that now that we are stuck at home, I'm actually using all those polishes. LOL! Eyeliners are also a frequent item.

Yes... Now they are putting the key choice and add-on dates on their website at least, so I have just put the date in my calendar and set an alarm. It would be much easier if they would just send out their emails.

Boxycharm is better and I feel that they are following the beauty quiz better. You can elect to receive a 50/50 makeup/skincare or a preference of one over the other.
Informative video! Thank you! I was big into Ipsy years ago, when it was just the $12 bag. Then I went for the glam bag plus, then stopped. Then couple years later started it again, it was not impressive, so I upped to the glam bag X & have been happy, didn't really love this last one. So far, right now, the flash sales are the best thing, imo. Hopefully, I'll find something else to try by watching the rest of your video. Also, with Ipsy, it takes Soo long for buying items in the sales, not in the box, to ship! 💁🏻♀️ I'm holding out tho!

40:04 facial roller is probably one of the unique and wellness-anti-aging items, that is why you get a box to try-see if they do something great for you! Not a recognized brand, they charge much more and isn’t that the reason to ‘try’ and get a box.
Thank you for this video. I've been looking for a makeup/skincare subscription to replace my BodyGuard base and Premium boxes. I've given them a year and a half to work with me but it's just not working for me especially since I end up spending $150 plus most months .That tells you how unhappy I've become with them and their lack of caring for my business. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Boxycharm aka BOXYCON has the worst customer service ever‼️‼️ They don’t look at the profiles ever. If you’re dark you get light products‼️🤨 They forget to include items and they won’t send it so you’re screwed‼️🤨 They show luxury items that that seems no one gets‼️
Not to mention they rarely if ever reply to their messages and when they do the replies are generic scripted b.s and they use the pandemic as their new excuse for garbage service and incompetence when it comes to shipping and broken promises etc. They are basically a bait and switch. Your first month or two might go okay and then bam they start sending cheap crap and it comes super late if it comes at all etc. I was extremely disappointed by them and now looking for a new service to spend my money on. My nails and one beauty box a month are like my gifts to myself...self care in a sense and it sucks when you wind up basically getting duped.

I managed to do it. You have to select to cancel on the website, but then also make sure you get the confirmation email to confirm the cancelation. If you miss it, they don't cancel the subscription.
It can be very difficult to cancel I ended up stop paying on them after trying to cancel a few times and that did the trick.

Great video! The "retail prices" are set by the manufacturer though so aren't being inflated by the different beauty box companies. Hardly anyone sells at full retail price, unless it's a very hard to get item, or it's a retailer that sells at full price and routinely provides large coupons so you think you are getting great deals :) . And this is true for almost all consumer products, not just beauty products.
That’s true… I didn’t mean to “blame” the beauty box company for it. 😅 It’s like certain stores set prices but ALWAYS have coupons. It bugs me. LOL! I wish they would just price things the correct way and stop with the marketing tactics.
@@PersonalBeautyLab Right! And that has set the stage for some people to be more concerned with how much they save instead of the actual cost! But the retail list prices SHOULD reflect the actual quality of the product, so as long as the manufacturer is fairly truthful when setting the retail price (not giving a luxury value to an economy product, for example, which some do) it should still be useful when trying products you aren't familiar with, to know what quality level of products they should be comparable to.

Loved your video ! Recently subscribed to Boxy Charm wasn't too thrilled with my box.It was really small . Got the notification for the pop up , there' wasn't really great products to choose from for 2 selections. Like the discounts that you can purchase .
I only picked up a few things from the popup... If you don't enjoy the items, it is better to then put that money towards something that you will really love and enjoy.

I've had issues cancelling my subscription with boxy charm and ipsy. Ipsy did refund me when it happened, which was nice. Ultimately both boxy charm and ipsy felt redundant. Oh, and the amount of bags you end up having from your ipsy subscription is nuts! I've donated like 8 of them.
I currently get the allure beauty box and it's ok. For $15 it's pretty good. I don't like that they send things that are not actually that great for you, like a walnut face scrub, and in the booklet they sing the products praises. Just feels dishonest.

I had several boxes a couple years ago and they are great when you’re newer to makeup, etc, but I find for the $, I can do my own research and purchase my own products that I know I’ll love. I mean $200 a year is a lot of makeup, if that’s all I truly want.
