Thank you for the details . I have raced pro stock cars for years and want to build a racing mower. It just started getting big in my area and want to do this with my son. But it is hard to get any body to give you spec's because it is so new in my area. And people want to keep there info "which I understand" . If you know of any stock are close to stock spec's can you point me to them.and thanks again.

That's cool, what's the slowest I'd goes. I'm building one similar to FearlessFronts mower, with a Honda clone 6.5 hp motor with a torque converter. Is that a good set up or not?
Clone engine mite be the coolest engine to build hot rod parts are easy to get at cheap As for racing check the rules for your club. I think the CRV clutch would be slow to react and if you look at racing karts Or mower racers you don't see them used. All so cubic inches count I don't think a 208 ci hot rod clone will run with a 725 ci kohler I mite wrong. If my club had a class for clones. I would try one
So then its in high gear all the time I have a troy built pony with the dumb variable pulley and I want to take it off and lower my trans so then its flush with the engine pulley and I don't have to have 2 belts so I can race and go at high speeds but still have breaks
Is there any way I could take a v6 engine and do this? I have an old v6 truck we are gonna scrap but the motor is good and I've always wanted one of these so if it's possible I'd like to make one with it

No once the clutch is engaged it's a direct drive forward we do not race backwards
Where did you get the right angle drive to convert from belt to chain? And love how you Made the clutch disengage lever very clever.
I raced at Bonners Idaho we timed in and got pole at 43 on the front 140" straight
We won at spirit lake drags
51mph in 200' knot bad for 1 gear

It's geared at about 5 to 1 5 rotation of the engine to 1 of the wheel with 16" tire at 4500 rpm"s it's 42 mph in about 125 feet

I got the gear box from a cub cadet rototiller attachment You can also find them on commercial mowing decks
or google surplus center
What is the teeth count of both of your sprockets?

I see why you mounted the engine the way you did, so when you stand it up the way you did you won't flood your cylinders with oil, which is no fun
There is only one gear the engine runs between 3000 and 6800 rpm one gear is enough on our tracks
