The coaching and game planning were wrong. It was in the news - Sydney lost its back three, and was calling on Nick Blakey to play tall. The sub had to take off a moon boot to get on the field (yet all the bleating was about Richmond's list predicament). They had some gut runners in there to disrupt while the cavalry were arriving. But early on, it was evident - Richmond's first goal - bust the first line of defence and get the ball forward quickly into the 50 and majors are on offer. Sure, Sydney are good defensively all over and were successful at locking the ball in, by just being judicious about how to enter the 50, and Papley was magnificent in the ensuing chaos. Richmond should have come prepared with something similar, to starve Sydney of the ball for longer periods. Ladhams has a big motor, but he makes lots of hand skill errors, but the Sydney mids cleaned them all up, too easily. Watch how Geelong deal with this on Saturday, Sydney likely only to have Rampe back.

Fully agree with all your comments. Damien Hardwick and leadership got too greedy. Instead of getting Harper and Taranto they should have recruited 2 first round draft picks with an eye to the next five years not the next one year.
Prestias problem is his kicking should just handball. Although he has improved his kicking as they hit the oppo spot on.
Id be playing ross and sonsie in the guts over cotchin and prestia. I think our biggest issue is we dont train skills enough at training and our young guys dont have strong bodies at the moment so we arent as strong and tough as we once were.
I was at the game last night, the tigers made some very uncharacteristic mistakes and turnovers with the ball last night which lead to the swannies getting some cheap goals. We did well to peg back at them early in the 2nd half and to make a game of it. I am just still shock that we were within 13 points with around 7 minutes left and just gave up in the end and got the margin out to 44 points which it did not live up to. The tiges have just gone sour in their last month of footy and with the Dees next week who are looking really good this year it is almost looking my like it is curtains early for the tiges season.

A interesting thing no ne has mentioned!!!! 3 losers in a row and it has been wet each week. The rain has come after our best 2 quarters and our skills in the wet have disappeared? Leading to turnovers and letting the opposition rebound. So see how we go next when its dry.
Another issue is the premiership players are past their best, Grimes, Crotchin, Riewoldt, Vlastuin, Martin. Martin is not the same player. I like Prestia but he is carrying a injury. Fame has gone to Boltons head and Pickett needs to cut out the dirty niggle.
Your right Dimma doesn't pull off many moves just same old same old and hope it turns around. He never tags a opposition player why? Papley geez just like Neil when we play Brisbane or Oliver from Melbourne and then Collingwood. Come on Dimma put some time into nullifying these match winners. They kill us each time.
The VFL listed players played better without the listed players. We are in for a lot of heartache the list isn't as good as people may think.

All this lies at the feet of Hardwick. He never punishes the lazy, undisciplined player, he accepts it and lets it sit to continue like a mother too wishy-washy to discipline their child.
Before the 3 Flags he made a public statement that Richmond would no longer draft players with poor skills, then he drafts Taranto…an infamous player for butchering his disposals.
No judgment call on Hardwick’s 3 Flags, this is a sole call on Damian Hardwick today.
My opinion b4 u start I was happy getting Taranto and Hopper , but in my opinion we had to get a mature 25 yr old tall forward Ross also needs to play week in week out
The problem is the C word Confidence when the rest of the talks aren't there as I said before we needed a tall forward , we couldn't depend on Riewoldt at 35 , and Lynch is injury prone so in the trade period or draft we desperately need a tall forward
we aren't playing chaos footy, we are hesitating and slowing the game down too often....
U can't say about Bolton especially with the week he had , someone stealing he's premiership medallions

How are you supposed to kick goals with Ryan in the forward. He's weak, he's slow and drops sitters. And when he rucks he taps it down the throat of the opposition.
How are you supposed to develop youth when you tear them down whenever they stuff up? Lucky nobody is paying Mr Perzival much mind. Go Samson!
