I wouldn't make it alive without earth, Earth is like a piece of a puzzle to my heart/life🌎♥️ ✌️
Yeah, I rather die here, Earth is My Mother and I will stay with here till my last breath
I agree I don't want to leave. Even if we teraform mars what if something goes wrong
Well there's no way to know until you actually tried!!! Maybe we'll love life on Mars but we won't know until we actually tried!!!
human: destroy earth then call it dangerous to live on, brilliant
its called supply and demand... if you don't create supply how come rich people make money
I life on earth ever became extinct it would be because of a natural event such as an asteroïd impact. We are not a part of the problem but a part of the solution.
I'll never leave earth, but thank you.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that those places were not meant for human habitation.
So many astronauts talk about how travelling into space gives them a new appreciation for life on Earth. I wonder whether an extended mission to Mars would make someone yearn for life back on Earth? I personally don't think I could get over the travel time...
Mar is romanticized right now. When they get there and only have endless desert to look out on and have mandatory routines to survive they will be begging to come home.
Helo Claire, I enjoyed this video very much, you are so interesting and fun.
Besos from Perú.
Why would I want to miss all the trees, birds chirping, oceans, and just going for a walk without a space suit? No thanks I’m really good here at home sweet home.🌎 if something happens, then I die with it.
This series just keeps getting better and better. Claire Reilly is the Robert Stack of dystopian speculative scenarios. Keep up the great work!
Correction: "How the rich and elite gonna escape the planet and live on Mars"
Ever seen Elysium? Gonna happen for sure...
only rich will escape and will leave other poor and middle class i love my earth and i pray that there won't be a time that we have to leave our mother earth.
@@warrior9326 if I get rich I will try to bring as much other people as I can
They will have to get the materials from asteroid belt which is beyond Mars orbit.
*Elon is just trying to get back to his home planet of Mars.*
Mars is so overrated, Moon is where the next colony needs to be THEN Mars or anywhere else like Venus etc.
On of my favourite video thanks CNET .❤️❤️👍👍 Loved the video graphics and oratot👍👍❤️
There is no place like home, the Earth. Take good care of it. But that doesn’t mean we won’t want to venture elsewhere for adventure. It’s amazing how far we come and how much more we still need to go before we can have the journey to land a human on Mars.
Imagine being blessed with an already wonderful planet with oxygen, atmosphere, water, and good soil and just slowly ruining it.. Y'all wouldn't have to settle in a distant dying planet if you just didn't destroyed the perfect one. I mean we can still be exploring the space for further knowledge regarding alien life form.. y'all have millions of tax money to burn up in space yet little to less budget allocated for our planets revival.. what were you even thinking
Considering meny people are transferring to solar panels, electric cars, ect
I would guess, yes stuff is going into it.
I understand your point though, also what if people went to titan a moon that is livable like earth! That would help with overpopulation and no one would have to die from it!
The only thing that makes sense is to kill most of us off, and rebuilding to a very controlled world government with only the people that they choose and an amount that they can control. It’s about a more efficient and final world dominance- its an political and evil agenda.
12:21 ummm does this man think that everyone spends $50k on a Disney trip?! Disney’s an expensive girl but $50k???
Also, he has been to space but clearly he is not aware of social and economical conditions in most countries on Earth, where people will have to work a lifetime to make US$50K, if they ever reach it. In Brazil, for example, the the minimum wage is around US$2.4K per year. It would take over 40 years to just afford that trip to space he was talking about.
50k is probably peanuts to him so 50k is a small number for him to give an example...i imagine his pension is quite sizeable
I think a Disney trip that’s high end for a person living outside of LA could be between 10k-25k depending on how many days but not 50k
Randy seems like a very humble man NASA should really offer him to teach the next generation
is it just me or is it really weird for cnet to have these high quality documentary kind of videos?
Some of the videos have been kind of quaky topics but some are good like this one. Probably was cheap to produce
@Manix Burn I can tell you don't kee up with current events. We are going to colonize Mars whether you like or not. So the garbage here is what you just spewed on the page.
@Manix Burn And that's why we're able to adapt to different environ ments so well. Our survival skills enable us to live anywhere. Therefore Mars is there for the taking. It's obvious I think. At least what we do isn't subject to your beliefs.
Today, I'm 17 years old (2020), 2030 me : "I occasionally miss our old world, Earth. Our world have many beautiful oceans, lakes, rivers, mountains, green grassing lands, frozen parts, blue sky and alot of others, I was born there but I will living here for until we find out a new life support planet"
SADLY OUR BEAUTIFUL WORLD IS CHANGING DRAMATICTLY AND FORESTS, GORGEOUS OCEANS, MARINE MAMMALS, WILD TERRESTRIAL ANIMALS, BEAUTIFUL GLACIERS ARE ALL GONNE...... SOON
I VE READ AND STUDY A LOT AND I KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING TO EARTH.....
EARTH IS DYING. YES UNDENIABLE
OUR PLANET BEAUTIFUL NATURE IS DYING AND UNLESS THE SCIENTISTS FIND A SOLUTION FOR ALL THE PROBLEMS PLUS THE GOVERMENTS AGREE WITH IT , WE ARE DOOMED
I think we should start using that 3-d printing technique here on earth to make super efficient and strong homes. Basalt and PLA are in no short supply here on earth. I’m quite sure the cost could be cheaper than a traditional brick and stud home. Likely cheaper than metal stud homes as well. Seeing as basalt is one of our hardest stone materials I imagine the R factor would be excellent. I know the ideas are for use in space, but why not take advantage here work out any bugs and have the process flawless and as affordable as possible. When the time comes to employ that technology on Mars. Seems, like a Win Win! Peace and Love
This goes without saying! However with 3-D printing and other new metrology actually old suppressed but new again. We will be able to do amazing things using monoatomic metals and material sciences is going to explode in ways that boggle the mind of those without creatively! This said, I agree with what you said about the overuse and abuse of our resources. Yet I, rather than complaining about them am trying to add to the debate and give new potential ideas for others to consider. That’s all! Peace and Love
Awesome series, awesome production quality, the visuals are Stunning And the audio really makes the Dolby Atmos shine on my Galaxy S10+. 😁
Lastly you got to love Claire, you can tell she is passionate about what she is presenting. She's awesome!
Looking for to the next episode!
Really enjoyed this. Watched the whole thing. I wanna go to Mars...
Just imagine all of the people who can’t even put on a face mask when shopping. Now imagine these same people living on Mars. They won’t even last an hour without taking off their space suits and getting killed in the Martian atmosphere.
Self discipline and self control, are 2 things, imo, a lot of people lack. Everything seems to be instant gratification, now, now, now. So I absolutely agree with you. Too many people cannot follow a simple exercise, like wearing a face mask! Sad and kind of embarrassing too.
I think most people know that thr atmosphere on Mars doesn't have a 99% survival rate though. Little different.
People called me weird for putting on my mssk at seven o clock and taking it off at two o clock in the afternoon. Its not weird it's called self discipline
1000 year's later humans will look at earth from mars and wondered if there is life there
They would know the is a life on earth because they would come here for vacation
I'm liking this series.
CNET; Claire Reilly, I'm glad you got to experience a launch in person. Something important to realize is that in 1957, Sputnik--the first probe--was launched. Then, in the late 1969--just 12 years later--the first moon landing happened. People were watching on outdoor screens like in Times Square around the world. It was unparalleled!!
Another huge problem is also that an extended stay in space has repercussions when you come back to gravity too. Many get bloated limbs, have trouble standing, experience dizziness etc. Many also have problems with their sight getting blurry in space and things like that. All of those things takes quite a long time to recover from. Not a good thing to have to deal with first thing on a different planet exactly.
We probably would create some kind of special clothing to use during the time on Mars. Also, Mars colonization would be made mainly for extremely professional and experienced astronauts, don't trust on Musk's BS to send 300k people to Mars until 2050. Simply won't happen. There's an entire planet to colony. The "normal" "average" people may live in mars just near the end of the century probably 2100, it means almost none of us will have lifetime to change to Mars. Maybe we could at least make a touristic travel where we couldn't worry about these experiences you said.
We still need to make that move. That’s how evolution works and the first generation of individuals to be born on a different planet would start that process.
6:43 I Volunteer to be the next candidate if that's all it takes.
Amazing, i really hope this becomes the norm in our lifetime. The amount of space launches i'm seeing the past few weeks is making it more and more realistic
That would be amazing but I doubt it. It’s still many years till we get to Mars and years to build the houses, and years to lower space flight costs so it can become the norm, and years for those who become the first to become the norm to travel, and years to design the rockets for the people. It will take many years to say the least.
It's much easier to fix Earth than living on Mars.
Woah we came from aliens invading earth in the movies . To becoming aliens ourselves invading other planets. 😂😂
Finally a house where i could appropriately feel like a chicken everytime i leave the house instead of everyone telling me I'm too insecure
Right, so let's go from one 'dangerous place to live' which still has MASSIVE amounts of green..
To another 'dangerous place to live' surrounded by rocks, dirt, and air we can't breathe.
Yeah, well done!
The Earth is fine..it's a HUGE place.
And nothing lasts forever.
Right, so let's stay on earth. Overpopulation and natural disasters would kill our species...
If we move to other planets, there is more chance of humans surviving.
@@DailyDoseofSpace. how do we know overpopulation wont develop on mars too? Probably even faster because people are much more confined. And I dont get the natural disaster argumenter when the whole climate on mars is still MUCH less liveable, despite that. The amount of natural disasters could double, and earth would still be overall more liveable than mars.
Amazing ! Loved it
How are we supposed to live on Mars when we can’t even take care of earth.
Thank you! I enjoyed this very much!
really enjoying these videos cnet well done, very interesting, well presented and researched, entertaining and Claire is just a delight.
That rocket launch was incredible
How incredible it’ll be to witness a rocket launch from earth, filled with humans, bound for Mars... ✨✨✨
Doesn't seem the most fun for me. I see that there's some people that want all of humanity to move to mars, for what? Despite what's happening now, what's really wrong with the earth? It's a better place to live than mars. I'm not saying that humanity shouldn't become a multi-planetary species, that would be amazing for us, but I don't think all of humanity should abandon earth too quickly. Or maybe you were talking about the distant future and I misinterpreted what you said, haha. I've written a whole paragraph on this which is a bit ridiculous, I hope you have a nice day anyway
Ethan Tour All of humanity will not live on Mars. All humanity will live somewhere else than earth thought. Eventually.
Human life on Mars would become possible when giraffes swim the ocean and come to England to eat their grass
So true or Queen Elizabeth takes up a part time job at McDonalds serving French fries lol
new resources, new uncharted planets. long live human endeavours and space exploration
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING US VERY INTERESTING 🌎💫💙
Her excitement after just having watched the rocket launch was so genuine. No actress could have done that!
Nice Chanel loving your work 🤜🤛
As soon as they get Mars internet latency below 5 seconds, then I’ll consider going.
Mars will have it's own internet.... Mars to Earth will always have a light speed limit, unless we crack quantum communication.... and that's a big nut to crack.
This miniseries definitely deserves to be prolonged
I need Entertainment looking at the earth from mars and looking around mars would keep me occupied for a couple weeks maybe a month but we need some internet up there 💀
Thanks for sharing! I can only dream of living in Mars!
can even live on earth in peace, let alone another planet.
@@iamBlackGambit so we lived on earth for 21st century we can do 5he same on mars
I think it could even be worse on mars because humans would be much more restricted. People living too tight against their will may mean people getting on each others nerves and have more conflict. I also think people wreak more havoc when they are emotionally not content
We've been on mars or Ceres for the past 8 years. I still have the take off count played in my head. We just made it. 5321. We even skipped 4
How rediculous, we have a living planet and insted of fixing a few problems we think we can turn a dead rock with no magnetic field into a habitable planet...give me a break.
mars would be a hard place to live as no water trees air food fuel might be ice that could be used... but you can grow food inside! always away around things!!!
That's what I'm saying bro we should just be lucky we have a planet we can live in why are we so ungrateful?
I can't think of a possible situation where living on Mars would be a better outcome than living in a post apocalyptic Earth.
Nothing can beat our natural earth
“HOW RICH HUMANS WILL LIVE ON MARS WHILE THE REST OF US WILL DIE ON THE EARTH WE DESTROYED, BUT MOSTLY BY THE RICH” there, fixed the title
I don't think so.
If Mars will eventually get ready to be mass colonized maybe just at the beginning it will be cool to have "an house of Mars". But after that, I see it as a 2nd if not 3rd class planet in which only the poorest part of population will live, surrounded only by rocks, thousand of factories, caves, little egg houses and so on
The richest part of the population will surely prefer to live on a refreshed earth, with much less pollution and population, beautifull lands, richness and no compromise whatsoever.
Houses on earth will skyrocket their value and people will be forced to sell. All the properties will be restructured and become luxury residences.
It's actually scary if you think about it.
@Mist I'm not saying Pollution would be a problem on Mars. I'm saying Mars at his very basis is just a bunch of rocks and inhospital planet. Nobody in his sane mind would prefer it to earth and live on it, even if it was not polluted. That's why I belive it would be turned into a "factory planet" with a very low life cost and viceversa to stay on earth would be turned into a luxury so that who can't pay to live on it would be forced to sell and move to mars (in order to make earth less polluted and crowded).
In such a distopy, you would be deprived the chance to inhabit your own planet just because you're poor.
Thanks for sharing
The question should be: What or how will be the life of those who will escape from Earth and those majority who will be left behind on a hostile environment?
A pergunta deveria ser: Qual ou como será a vida daqueles que escaparão da Terra e daqueles que ficarão para trás em um ambiente hostil?
Imagine being the camera man/woman filming someones reaction to a life changing moment while that life changing moment is happening behind you and you yourself don't get to witness it.
13:18 “Beep boop boop beep” 🥰
Beautiful video
I think people forget that we currently don't have the technology that can withstand space debris going thousands of mph. It's not possible for us to live on anything other then a planet like ours.
i love my earth ❤️
Human beings' home is the earth. It is located in the so-called "Goldilocks zone", where it is not too hot and it not too cold and where water can exist in its liquid form to support life. Mars is not in the Goldilocks' zone. It is too cold for human beings to live normally and naturally without any life supports like oxigent tanks and special clothes. Human beings do not belong to Mars. We may dream on many things, but living in Mars is something which is too far from reality.
I can already picture Martians coming out from their underground cities seeing us humans making egg shaped houses and baffled that they were not the only civilization this whole time since the radio signals won't leave outside their bunkers
Yes we can't even look after a planet that;s basically is a masterpiece in every imaginable way and
somehow you belief that we can travel about 130 million miles away to a planet completely inhospitable
to life in every way? Yes , no water or unattainable , ground sterile and impacted for any type organic
growing , low gravity which will cause chronic bone loss and many other human illnesses , no oxygen ,
extreme cold with temperature variations of over 200 degrees at it's equator in a day with the average
temperature of about -86 degrees and continually bombarded with high levels of radiation including
solar flares . What a complete farce when we can't even prevent the destruction of a self sustaining
planet.
There's 2 places you could be talking about earth (the obvious) and titan a moon of saturn that can sustain life :)
5: 18 i seated laughing because of the pancake floating.
The day we realize how amazingly good our own planet is, and feel the shame of how we destroy it everyday, that might save the human race! Going to Moon/Mars will never save the human race from its own stupidity. No one lives in Antarctica for long, and it is 100 times more hospitable than the other planets. That said, maybe seeing how bad the planets are, we learn to love our own.
"You're living in the same place you're working" om...You mean home office? xD
I bet there would be all sorts of health, safety, disaster recovery drills that would need to be implemented in a colony whether on a space station, Moon or planet Mars.
I like how well edited this all was 👍🏼
They should spend all of the money on Earth and make it nice and safe again and don't let people starve and give
all the homeless housing
Then a meteorite hits Earth, and humanity goes extinct because we had no off-world backup of our species. Good job, you killed us.
@@Hamdad well most people here in the comments are anti human euither way soo
Everything has an ending, yeah restoring earth would be the best choice but it doesn't mean exploring the universe should be stopped.
If one would look at other sources besides science, one would have a "bigger picture" than what is demonstrated" here.
I really wonder how setting on mars would affect the next generation that even have to grow up there? And while they probably have more than enough with making it physically liveable, I really hope they dont underestimate the importance of having something that makes life emotionally worth living, even long after the exitement of going to another planet fades. Will children have room to play? Do people have entertainment? And can they truly be social with each other? Will there ever be other animals than humans there? Life would be pretty sad without. Permanent living is very different from a temporary mission that each participant choose
I Hope My whole family And my loved ones come with me :(
I love future related videos
This is a bit like the Easter Island civilization. When they cut all the trees, they lost their ability to make boats of wood and were unable to fish. This caused the end of the statue building culture from starvation. The bird man cult arose out of this. The bird man was a mythological figure that was going to take them off the island. He never came and the population crashed.
The promise of colonizing Mars is a bit like the bird man cult of Easter Island.
"Pack our bags & leave earth behind" they make it sound so simple 🤣
@@KlNGkhaled man we can barely take care of this planet, I can only imagine how difficult it may be over there you know.

They should make homes like that for everyone here on earth then when we have that Seattle’d we can explore life on different planets just a thought.
No thanks. That is extreme quarantine life. Worst than current 2020.
Right? So much of the training for those first humans that travel to Mars is going to be around isolation and the effects of such extended missions...
Right...with Internet lag time of over 1/2 hour....and where is the food coming from, when the surface radiation is too strong to even grow plants? Elon will need to have robotic missions to grow plants there before even dreaming about Mars colony.

If we can live on mars, im going to live like the mandolorian
This is SICK
Mars wont be for the rich initially this is a misconception. It will take decades or even centuries to terraform Mars. Initial Mars colonization will have tough hardworking human adventurers with particular skill sets such as Engineers, agricultural, biological specialists, medical personnel, scientists, IT experts and people with practical skills who can build and maintain structures to live in, solar panels and electric vehicles, etc...
They've been working on Mars for 66 years or more by the year 2035 Mars will be livable only for the rich not the poor
I can't believe that this series is sponsored by one of, if not, the most highly anticipated games of this generation.
That would be some serious jet-lag.
It's only two days to the moon and they are focusing on Mars which takes six months? LOL!
What happens when u eat food in space? Does it keep floating in the stomach?
That's the least of your worries your body will become incapacitated with all kinds of serious issues if you even survive the trip to the planet lol it's a dead planet
The big question if we will survive in Mars and if I'm still alive when we go to Mars🙃
Why not use vr to mix work and exersize. Even practice simulated mars gravity on the trip while your checking instruments in another tab.
Im thinking about the animals how would they love without humans 😔😔😔😭😭😭😭🤧
Life would be sad and lack so much of its beaty if we didnt have other animals than humans around. To me that would be a total dealbreaker for living permanent on another planet. I also wonder if they get lab grown meat by that time. I felt terrible on a vegan diet and Im not the only one. But I want animals to just be around regardles. But of course their well being should be ensured if we were to send them (which I kinda doubt)
Musks pizza - We'll delever you pizza in 30 min from straight Earth to your step door(on mars) 😂
What if its an excuse to divide the rich from the poor and leave us with the planet they all destroyed 😐 (no hate just a theory)
Just put me in a rocket capsule with some elastic aerobic bands some vodka and cranberry juice and a bunch of MREs and I'll make it.
ok i'm bringing my 2 fur babies with me if Mars is warm and have seasons I would move there.
Easy answer NO on all freezing cold mostly and you can breathe without artificial assistance always
We need to start focusing less on trying to live on Mars and start focusing more I’m trying to save our planet.
Once we’ve saved our planet then we can definitely start focusing on Mars
Geez I’m not trying to pick any fights, I was just sharing my opinion 😶
It’s interesting to me that people believe that “post-apocalyptic” Earth would be less hospitable than space, the Moon, or Mars. Maybe the real point of this exercise is to develop technology to help us live on Earth in the future?
Right! It would be far easier and far cheaper to prepare to live on Earth post-apocalyptic than living on the Moon or Mars.
I wouldn't mind living in the Marsha house right here on earth, it's probably cheaper than a regular house.
They're actually creating a similar structure on Earth called 'Tera' - similar design and super futuristic looking. I'm definitely keen to stay there!
