You're right Wayne,Chiang Dao is a special place,I've been going there for the past 20 years,I'm married to a hill tribe girl who I met 22 years ago,we've been in the UK all that time....2 more years and we plan to return to open a small resort up in the mountains...my retirement... believe me Chiang Dao is the new pai..give it 5 years
Hi Nice, i agree mate, Chiang Dao is a great place and will take off in the next few years i reckon. I could see myself living here for sure. Thanks buddy.
Cheers mate. I got one more video from this trip, then will be heading off again soon. Village girl who likes green tea, that sounds like the perfect woman. I will keep my eyes peeled 👌👌
Nice video again Wayne. As you said this place is magical and I love these kinds of places. The downside is that in the evenings most probably is you have to retire early as it would be dead with nothing to do. At least that is my experience.
Cheers mate! Very special place Is Chang Dao. Some small bars around at night with a few things going on. That's the charm of the place though, that's why I love it.
In fact, there are only two "normal people" on UA-cam, that I know of, who are vlogging from Thailand, and Wayne is one of the two. I prefer normalcy, which seems a rare commodity among farang, these days, now that the pandemic is at an end, and now that so many tourists are flooding in. This Chiang Dao series is quite good. I truly appreciated the effort. As has been said, many times, the camera never lies: Wayne is a very honest old soul whose optimism and positivity shines through all of his videos, and his upbeat approach toward life is infectious. No spin. WYSIWYG.
At the start colour coordinating the colour of your tee with the building exterior is really next level vlogging Wayne. No one else goes to these lengths in travel vlogging! I love the savage dog notice opposite the prose about never finding the solution for death when you were half way up. Hope you get your arsh out exploring more wonderful places like this. There's alot to discover in your province and the neighbouring ones.
@Walk-About Wayne I'm sure you were safe from the dogs mate. I bet they only go for bird watchers staring up at tree canopy and people carry baskets... 😆
It is a clean, beautiful and natural place, fresh and cool, suitable, the city is not large and not too small. Everything is complete. It is a very retired place.😍😲😊👍❤️
@@WalkAboutWayne ok, I have read that it should be finished in 2025, but where it is and how far they have come you cannot see in some places, just strange
Birdwatching.. I get it actually, seeing something really rare must be great. Someone told me other day there are over 10 different Kingfishers here, and a bloke down at the night market has phenomenal water colours of Thai birds (oooo Mrs) seriously though, there are some very talented young artists here.
It was funny seeing them all looking up with binoculars. They was all so concentrated. Some of the bird noises was great though. I can see why bird watchers go to Chiang Dao. I think i've seen the guy at the market. Some great artist about .
Enjoyed it Wayne. You got your omlette. Did you hear about the Shakespearean actor who wasn't very good. The audience threw eggs at him. He went on as Hamlet and came off as omelette. Alan on Oz
Hi Wayne, I have to totally agree with you Chiang Dao looks perfect to live in but you know what you could make it work as a base. i would have no problem making trips out and look what you have to come back to. It was a cool little vlog again and i will look out for more from you. have a grate day keep on vlogin .
@@WalkAboutWayne you got plenty of mentions on the Live the other night on Gary Butler - the Roaming Cook channel. He and Paddy Doyle were doing a Live there in Chiang Mai discussing other You Tubers . All positive and hopefully it promoted the channel and got a few subbies in for you. Paddy pissed as trying to impersonate your opening line was funny :)
@@stevens8785 Haha, i didn't see that. I met Paddy last week though and he was doing impressions of me then. I will have to look for Gary's live stream, if he still has it up on the channel.
Excellent Wayne!I really do appreciate you taking us along, and especially your honest and personal insights. Considering what you said about possibly being bored with Chiang Dao, for being an isolation and lockdown for the best part of three years, doesn't take nearly as much to keep from getting bored. In fact, the level of activity I had before the pandemic seems almost excessive or alien now, and perhaps being content with a slower, or contemplative pace would be better?
It's a great place Jack, Chiang Dao has everything you would need. This place will get more and more popular in the coming years. I could live here easy but maybe a little later in life. Thanks mate.
@@WalkAboutWayne I think I get your point. If you have any further reflections on that now that you are back in CM you could include in the next vlog, I'd look forward to them as well.
Wow. Been in Chiang Mai two days and it's strange.. NO strawberries at the market across the street in the morning! No gooseberries either. And no one knows why. I did find some at Warorot, but they've always been quite expensive there. A little sad, all the people I knew for years who worked at the hotel I always stay at are gone, though Sita the cat still lives here. Sad to see some of the changes that have taken place, quite a few closed shops around town. The elderly couple who make and sell the halal Thai sausages in front of the 7-11 are still there, the sausages are as delicious as always (just added some photos on Google Maps). I found your vegetarian Shan restaurant (the one on the North side of the moat) and had an early lunch there yesterday - it's really tasty! They wanted to know if onion and garlic was OK, apparently some people avoid them at certain times of the year, or don't eat them at all. Will probably head out to Maya today, I see a couple of interesting movies (one Thai, one Japanese) that I want to watch. And for some reason they are showing a Harry Potter movie, too!
Can't believe you didn't take a hoody mate . It does look a blisfull place to live Wayne but I suspect I would get itchy feet after a month . Great content again
Hoody is a must at this time a year, kicking myself for not taking one again. Chiang Dao is a great place, but like you said, it might be a little to quiet for some people. Thanks buddy!
I do love the Thai omelettes. Why is it that so many temples have to have so many bloody stairs lol oh nice beware of savage dog 😂 I do love some of the cave temples though. Been in a couple on day trips out of Chiang Mai where I live.

Congrats on 9000! 🥳🥳🥳 Ching Dao looks so charming and you’re surrounded by all of that lush scenery. Will be on my list for next time!
Thanks Kirsty! I'm sipping on one of your tea bags. They're still going strong.

Nice one again Wayne for your last day in Chiang Dao. Obviously rice soup or noodles are easier to find than an omelet😆Cheers mate

Glad you found some at Warorot. Fruit isn't everywhere like it use to be. Sign of the times. The Shan on top of the moat is a great restaurant.

Of course i know the hooker position.
Sorry...Haven't been thinking clearly lately. No insult intended. But what is that other "football" game? You know, where they fall down lot?
