"Who is alive" was also the question after Mark cried "She is alive" at Devon's s home, while holding a photo of himself with Jemma. The baby had also just been found, and Mark's outie thought his innie was referring to her.
That’s the surface level meaning, but the deeper meaning behind it is who is really alive, the innies or the outies. And when you look a little deeper, it’s pretty clear the innies are living far more fulfilling lives than their outie counterparts
Perhaps Casey's supposed "death" in the car crash was an accident caused by Helly. So Lumon used their resources to fake Casey's death and forced severed her to keep her quiet. Also maybe Helly had a difficult time dealing with it so ended up severing herself, reminiscent of Mark. Helly seeing her innie kiss Mark may have added to her guilt causing that reaction when she reviewed the video.
oh i can definitely see them going this route. the way they connect everybody and everything is so genius!!! and let us not forget devins comment "you still seeing that weird doctor therapy man with the funny moustache?" Irving was totally his therapist at one point... maybe even to gain information from mark
Gemma was secretly severed. At one point she went down and didn’t come back up. Her car was destroyed in a fiery crash to cover it up. The body Outie Mark identified was not Gemma’s, but he couldn’t tell because of the burns to the face and body. Her death was faked. But why? Outie Mark will soon believe Gemma is alive and living on the Severed Floor, based on his Innie shouting “She’s alive!” and Milkshake telling Outie Mark that his Innie has a love interest.
@@pamelambo1071 well, that's what I thought but is that confirmed? We know they manipulate time for the innies and could they possibly manipulate memories of the outiea?
Another great analysis video! "I think "who is alive" is oMark's question to iMark as in "who did you mean is alive when you shouted 'She's Alive!'"? In the long season 2 trailer released before episode 1 the words "who is alive" is seen on a bright light and Mark appears to bend down over it and put a blanket on his head. I think oMark will try to send this message to iMark by some how imprinting the message inside in his eyelids somehow? Also the eye that appears to escaping Mark's head at the end of the new intro seems feminine, maybe Gemma? And perhaps its just bad animation but the fingers look really weird!!
cobel is severed. you can see thisi s the case in the trailer where she says "you don't need them, you fear them", but in episode 2 she actually says "you don't need me, you fear me". The showrunners are gaslighting you.
i noticed this too but didnt know if it was a mistake or not... it would be really confusing for another severed part of Cobel to have also spoke to helena in that exact moment (same location/same outfit???)and say something so similar to what her outtie/innie just said... not sure about this one BUT i still do think cobel is severed just not in that moment
@ bro it is SUGGESTED. everythings a mindfuck just go with it. you clearly didn't catch how cobel told innie mark that her mothers an athiest but told outie mark that her mother was religious lmao maybe you need to watch it again
I don't think it's accurate to say that Mark "forgets" about the pain of losing Gemma while he's on the severed floor. His outie is unaware of whatever relief from grief the innie gets, and the innie is unaware of the grief and so there's nothing to "forget". It's more like his innie provides his outie with the opportunity to have 8 fewer hours per day to feel sad and depressed.. 8 fewer hours to grieve.
Now you’re just arguing semantics. The outcome is the same, he chose to get severed because the pain of losing his wife was too much. So for 8 hours a day he doesn’t have to deal with the pain, same thing.
Hey Jeremy, good video as always. Do you think that perhaps she's got no outtie, Gemma that is. What if they woke her up on the outside as we know they can, that caused the accident that killed the outtie and the innie was left behind and kept in Lumon to hide her. Not really thinking that's true but ya never know ;)
I don't think she has an outie like the rest of them. In season 1 Petey mentioned he found a floor where severed workers never leave Lumon. I think that's where that mysterious elevator might lead. To a testing floor of sorts where they experiment on severed workers that don't get to leave, like Gemma/Ms Casey.
There’s also a moment where outtie Mark is having a conversation at his apartment and we see the redfish in his fish tank float to the bottom while the bluefish floats to the top in a moment where he looks a little confused. With red being representative of the outside and blue representing lumen and the severed floor, I think it was a big hint that the process has already begun
Those weren’t female hands, it’s claymation so they look a little weird but it was definitely Marks and the eye also looks just like Marks as well. It wouldn’t make much sense for it to be anyone else, it’s a metaphor for the theme of the show and having an “innie” In this case an innie bursting through to the surface
That is definitely Marks eye. Nothing else makes any bit of sense, it’s his innie breaking out which is a clear foreshadowing for Mark reintegrating at some point.

I love the idea of Mark’s reintegration being foreshadowed in the new intro. Great breakdown of the new footage

Severance is some of the absolute best TV out there on streaming or the networks. Wonderfully engaging and creative.
Can’t wait for episode 3!

This show has me hooked
Sleeping as an innie is how he will do it.
This new footage has soo much new information🌐 we get to see Mark’s backstory maybe
I hope so, even if just in a few flashbacks to when Gemma was still around or maybe even one of the car accident itself.
This looks amazing. Mark may get reintegrated sooner rather than later, with that flash between Helly in his house and on the severed floor.
Yoooo mark is totally going to reintergrate! Awesome theory Jer.
Could the animal masked dancers that Dylan saw in egans bedroom be innies that we've seen ?
I suppose it's possible. That or perhaps innies that never leave like the ones Petey mentioned In season 1

Having problems with appletv but look forward to catching yp on Severence! Off to see Nosferatu again today! ❤
Burt seems to be in the same room as Cobelvig, with the fireplace in the dark room.

I really hope Ms. Huang is Mark and Gemma's daughter.
Didn't Gemma pass away 2 years ago since the present... meaning she'd be a toddler?

2:49 that looks like a different hallway than the hallway to the testing floor
Good spot; perhaps that hallway is on the testing floor?
@@buxycatI think it is, because the elevator at the end of the hallway has an up arrow
@@Noctopodes Thanks for pointing that out, I had to refer to a better image quality video to see the up arrow you spotted.
@ You’re welcome
This week is much too long
Mark is wanting to reintegrate to get the innies out
Reintegration reminds me of the consequences of being in the animus too much (assassins creed) which is the bleeding effect lol.
@Zero-xl2ef ahh yea that's an interesting comparison
The Innis are definitely more fulfilled human beings than the outies ✂️
Yea it seems like they have a certain freedom that the outies don't. They're not beholden to things like ppl on the outside world ✂️💙
Who is Alive❓ refers to Innie Mark screaming “She’s alive!”
I don’t think it’s that simple, it seems a little deeper like the video suggests, asking who is really alive, the innie or the the outie
@ Occam’s razor tho
It’s clearly both
How did apple fumble the audi sponsorship for severance 🤦♀️
Also I can’t wait to see the scene from the trailer with the “who is alive” light that appears OMark will attempt to burn into his retinas.
I wish this was a novel

I think thats Gemma looking out of mark s head, it looks like a female eye with white french tip nails but i could be wrong🤷🏾♂️
That was my first thought
It’s still too early for reintegration. I would have to assume some severed leakage between both in and outtie.
It’s definitely not too early, they’re only doing 3 seasons in total.
@ the creator said 4 seasons
Definitely doesn't seem too early, seems like a perfect time actually with all the foreshadowing they set up
There’s also a moment where outtie Mark is having a conversation at his apartment and we see the redfish in his fish tank float to the bottom while the bluefish floats to the top in a moment where he looks a little confused.
