    This video is the reason GOOD youtubers are so NECESSARY. I'm researching all about Đà Nẵng because I'm thinking of moving there. I have all kinds of info on my phone with pictures & addresses - especially food stores & markets. Then thru your video I find that MM Market is the Costco of Đà Nẵng. I had most of the main shopping places & didn't know about this one - the MOST IMPORTANT ONE (at least to me). PLEASE keep these vids coming.
    Unlike most of You Tube, you're doing a PUBLIC SERVICE.

    I am binging on your videos and getting hyped about moving to Da Nang. You deserve a million subs. Your videos are so informative and I love your chill and happy vibe.
    Vietnam is way cheaper than Thailand! You need at least $1,500 per month just to break even. That will only cover rent, food, bills, and maybe transportation. If you need anything else like gym, going out, travel, clothes, etc. you need at least $2,000. I teach online but bookings have been low so I am looking at other digital nomad gigs I could do. I could be saving a lot in Da Nang plus you have that wonderful beach and mountains.

      Haha. No worries... All valid questions :) no at first we bought bicycles, so for a few months we either used Grab to go far, or we rode our bicycle. After a while we needed to go ride with our friends and we were the only ones without a bike, so eventually we found out if we got the 50cc, we would not need a license (anyone can ride this legally) so we rented one. If you want to legally ride a bike more powerful than the 50cc you do need a license and you can obtain one here if you d like... It took me a few days to get comfortable in the streets here because they are very unique in how the traffic works with bikes but once you get the hang of it. It becomes second nature :)

    Beautiful details. Great video!
    But I still don't understand the meaning of an expat and a normad?

    I don't remember the hundred dong notes. How does that work? Do they round up? It's been years since I had durian but it's not bad as far as I can remember. I stayed in a hotel the last time I was in Saigon and someone on that floor had durian and I smelled it the entire time I stayed at that hotel.

      haha... there are 100,000 VND notes, not 100. and if you do end up having to go that low, yes they tend to round up or down haha. Ive received a candy at Vinmart when the change is too small :)

      @@RalphClescaVlogs I understand the 100,000 note but I don't understand like for example the watermelons were 17,400 per kilo. How do you pay the 400? I assume they would just round off.

      Oh, yes exactly... They round it off haha... They do have a 500 bill but barely see it anywhere...

    I am an American living in Danang. Which store has casual clothes (shorts and tanktops) in western sizes? Do I need to find second hand stores? Are there any of those? I feel very isolated since I don't know the language and have found very few who speak and/or understand English.

    • @RalphClescaVlogs
      @RalphClescaVlogs  4 роки тому

      There are so many but I've found quite a wide variety at Mega Market... Also you can go to Vincom Mall... If you want more local shops... I'll look for the name of the street for you. I can't recall at the moment. But it s in the city. Or even in the local markets in the city you ll find...

    For your motor bike did you get a local license, must you take a riding course if you only have a car driving license?

    • @RalphClescaVlogs
      @RalphClescaVlogs  4 роки тому

      I have a 50cc which is a less powerful bike and you don't need any license to ride that one. For any more powerful ones, yes you need a license and you can take a riding test and get it here currently...

    Nice video. However, I wouldn’t call you weekly grocery budget cheap, even for two people. Here in the states you can spend about the same amount at Aldi or Walmart for the type of products you purchased. I’m assuming the other stores you mentioned are a lot cheaper. I would’ve had a different opinion if most of the items you purchased were from western countries. If you purchased all of that for $40, then I would say that was cheap. Appreciate the details though.

    • @RalphClescaVlogs
      @RalphClescaVlogs  4 роки тому +1

      Actually you are correct. If you go directly to the market completely. That would be much cheaper. Maybe I should make a part two video on Grocery Shopping on a Budget or something... Going to the true local places...

      Ralph Clesca - please do that because the prices your shared in a country with a strong dollars didn’t seem all that impressive.

      Yes, prices to income are very high. Presently, here in Turkey I spend around 30-50% less in higher quality and variety. Like cheese, olives etc. They also grow bananas, but no mango or pineapples.

      @RalphClescaVlogs  4 роки тому

      That definitely calls for another video about living here on a budget. Maybe I should be maybe mentioned that MY lifestyle is not on the cheaper ones out here... Because most people spend way less than I. I will work on that...

    12:04 I really hate this system. When it's busy it sucks. They do it like this in China. There was a fancy grocery in Texas called Central Market that allows you to weigh and label everything yourself. Some twats will still just have the cashier do it and then we all wait longer.

      Hey Binh. It is growing! It is nowhere close to Chiang Mai Thailand but it is growing fast. So many people have come here from Chiang Mai and wonder why they didn't come here earlier :) the thing is Da Nang is just becoming a popular destination so I think it is not Huge, but it is getting there... :)
