- Sauer rifles were always one of those rifles one aspired too, with the newest incarnation of their silky smooth bolt action rifle is the 505 model that is kept current with key new features such as the new all steel action for a rigid and sturdy chassis platform, yet lightened by its skeletal form. You still have this modular design where the action/chassis acts as the back bone of the rifle thus allowing a quick change of barrels, 19 calibres in all from .222 Rem to Swiss 10.3×60 R.
Gone is the old scope mounting system in its place a Blaser type saddle mounting system that greatly improves the scope mounting with no loss of zero when removed or re-engaged.
The bolt is now one piece and as such is even more smooth to operate with its 60 degree bolt lift as is the silent and easy to engage re-designed manual cocking and de-cocking safety system.
The popular Quattro trigger system remains and its four point instantly adjustable weights from the lightest at 350 grams to 1250 grams is very handy. Whilst safety features continue with the Maglock integrated magazine safety system that eliminates unwanted jettisoning of the magazine in the field.
Sauer pride themselves on correct fit and styling to their stocks and the 505 is no different as you can still exchanged from traditional walnut as on the Egro Lux for a polymer sporter or thumbhole designs to the adjustable Synchro XT carbon fibre version for the real weight conscious hunters by loosening only two bolts.
All those little tweaks have improved some niggles of the past and now with the new 505 model Sauers new design will certainly appeal to shooters wanting a premium gun with a lot of flexible options. - Спорт

I didnt know Sauer was part of the same weapons conglomerate as Mauser and Blaser. That explaines Sauers superb build quality and accuracy. My R8 Ultimate with .308 barrel shoots 3 round groups at 100m with RWS Hit 165gr that are basically just one big hole. The goups are well sub 10mm centre to centre.

The features of the 404 and more, the smooth bolt handling of the 200 and 202, saddle mounts from Blaser and accuracy out of this world. Need to test this rifle, never had a thought about selling my R8 but this might be the rifle i do sell it for.
Sauer really seems to have outdone themselves this time, haven't seen or heard anything bad about this rifle as of yet.
How is accuracy of r8?
@@kristijanmedved6066 The rifle is exceptionally accurate, i have no problems shooting 0.5 - 0.7 MOA 3 shot groups at 100 meters with a bipod or of a bench, should add that i am not a great shot.
The rifle is expensive but Blaser's hold their value extremely well if you take care of it. I got no fancy stock on mine, synthetic stock only, and i can get my money back if i wanted to sell it.

@@kristijanmedved6066 I'd say that they are both just as accurate. Blaser Group owns Sauer, both are very high quality rifles.

I can't seem to find this rifle for sale in Canada. Any fellow canucks know if it's available anywhere? All the stores I've searched don't have it - at all, not just stocked. The suspicion I had about takedown rifles being inaccurate is officially unfounded. Beautiful rifle, ergonomic, and multiple calibres? Gimme!
As they’re roughly same price bracket. What would you choose out of this and the new Sako 90 Quest?
Very hard to decide, I like the Quest very much although the Peak would be my choice from Sako which would suit my stalking but this 505, especially with the grade 7 walnut I would buy and just enjoy and not worry about scratching the stock.
Which is the best accurate rifle of these
1. Blaser R8
2. Sauer 505 or 404
3. Sako S20
4. Sako 90

By watching the video, it seems the fired cases are not ejected with much force but just fall down very close to the rifle.
Is it indeed the case or only my impression ?
