Not sure if you’ve had any experience with the maxim cqb gen 6, but would you say this is a solid contender in the $250-$300 range? Cant quite figure out what i want to put on my 7.5” 300blk build.
Q uses clear anodize on honeybadger wich increases surface hardness more than anodize with more pigment. So the black anodize should have no part on making it stiffer.
I just got a notification that the Storty is back in stock and since I have a CQB and an SCW from Maxim I wanted to give this one a shot. Not a huge fan of how heavy the maxim products are but that little SCW on a 7.5 inch 556 looks pretty good. I appreciate the review thank you!
What kind of wobble if any does it have ? I have a Q sugar weasel SD and it came with the shorty stock, anyway, I had to mortar it because I got a frozen bolt with that junk ass stelth ammo , anyway, now I’m wondering if the little Bit of play , in mine , was there , or I caused it.
Out of the box it has very little wobble, which is impressive since they sized it to fit multiple receiver types. But it ain’t the most durable of materials and over time I can feel some slop starting. My guess is you accelerated the inevitable
I’ve got the SB HBPDW brace so basically the exact same as this but in a brace. In the instructions I believe it said to put the provided thread locker on the actually buffer tube threading, torque it down on the receiver with a 3/4 wrench and when you put the castle nut on, I don’t think you need thread locker.
I don't think the thread locker is necessary, but you can't stake the castle nut very easily on this setup so I figured it won't hurt. Also, I like the smell of blue Loctite so I use it any chance I get.
Is that a special sized or cut lower receiver that leaves space for the stock rails? I was trying to fit that stock on as regular sized lower receiver. Didn’t know if it would fit.
So i can put it on a mil spec lower and upper I keep seeing people telling me I need a ghetto blaster or a honey badger for it without modifying my ar thanks for showing it on a ar installed too
I show it installed in a separate video. UA-cam doesn't approve of actually showing installations (though I doubt they even monitor my content cuz I am a little guy).
On mine the tube wasn't long enough to reach the retaining pin

This is a solid upgrade and, I like it better than the Maxim. Thanks for watching.

Good review, what is the length of the actual tube on the shorty? Is it the same tube length as the maxim?

@@dooshbagwithagun6515 lol fair enough!
@@dooshbagwithagun6515 is this the same length as the sb hbpdw in terms of both length of pull and length added when fully collapsed?

Is the cheek weld portion polymer or aluminum? Thanks!
Polymer. I have a deeper review of the setup posting in a few days.
@@dooshbagwithagun6515 thanks so much for that info. I'm wanting to paint that top cover and polymer is perfect 👍

Shooting surplus has this stock for 100 dollars less right now, only grey in stock though.
I was an impatient doosh and wanted one of the first ones, so I paid full MSRP. Anyone with patience will pay far less than I do.
Thanks for sharing
Will it fit on a Sugar Weasel?
Yes. It will work with any standard AR-15 lower.
Love mine!
Why can’t you show us the install on your sbr lol

Is this shorty stock aluminum or polymer? Doesn't say on the website.
Butt pad is polymer, receiver extension and rails are aluminum. The "cheek rest" that slips over the receiver extension is polymer.
Doesn't work with the NEW ATF scoring points .. it qualifies as a SBR. Need a foam buffer tube to get around it
Well, this one is a stock and not a brace, so it definitely doesn't pass the ATF sniff test.
They finally got tired of listening to you whine about it.
I reckon they didn’t like taking so much heat from a big shot YouToobin’ star like me.
