The discussion on cancer and asking for healing, and knowing God can do it, despite knowing you are dying, was pure gold. God is infinite and His plans are perfect.
Not sure what year this was recorded, but Frances died of his cancer in 1984 at the age of 72. Edith lived to be 98. They were and are a treasure to the Church and family of Christ.
It is heartening to hear Edith Schaeffer reflecting on the prophet Jeremiah, and the essence of Jeremiah's thought in the lyrics of that lovely hymn *Great is Thy Faithfulness* /St David's Cathedral/BBC Songs of Praise (UA-cam). I wonder what Jeremiah would say about the way the liberal post-millennial churches have been seduced by the permissive culture? What would Francis Schaeffer say? The new Babylonian captivity?
Agreed! God help us the way the so called "church" is these days. No wonder people who've been raised in church are turning away. There's no life in it.
1 John 1 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
You're right about that Melinda. It's like C.H. Spurgeon once said, God doesn't need defending anymore than a lion. People need to stop defending God and instead seek to know Him. But there's a difference between defending someone and just loving them. I spend a lot of time talking about my wife and daughter, not to defend them but because I love them so much, I just can't help but talk about them. That's why we talk about God so much. We just love him. I hope you know he's real. If you question his existence or identity, I dare you to do something. Say "God if you are real, in some way in the near future, show me." I can guarantee you'll start seeing and understanding he's real. When that happens, do one more thing. Find a Bible and open to John 1:1 and start reading. Read until God starts making it clear to you and then listen with your heart and respond in the way he leads. And yes, I just wrote a paragraph to you not to defend God but rather because I love him and your comment made me want to talk about him 😁

@@melindad180 Hi Melinda! I'm glad God brought you to this video. I don't know what has caused you to have a wrong view of God's character, but God is love, he created it, and he can only give love. Being loving means that he cannot let sin go unpunished. Because of this, he sent his son Jesus, the only human who was without sin, to die for OUR sins and bear the punishment meant for us (John 3:16; Romans 3:22-25). He paid the price for our sins which restored our relationship with God. God loved us so much that he gave us His Son as a gift. God also created everyrone with free will, meaning they could make their own choices. When people choose to reject Jesus and the sacrifice he made for them, they are choosing to not be with him, therefore they choose hell. To be apart from God is to be in hell. Pain and suffering was introduced into the world as a result of man's sin (Adam and Eve) and sin brings forth spiritual and physical death (Romans 3:23). No one can escape physical death. It is true that many have died from Covid, but God never promised that we'd be without suffering in this world. Christians and non-believers suffer alike in this lifetime. It is only in heaven that pain and suffering will cease to exist. I pray that God continues to reveal truth to you. Please look at the scriptures I've included and continue to go to God for answers. When you have an issue with someone, go to that person to sort those issues out until you discover the truth. Those that seek God shall find Him. He can handle anything you throw His way. May God bless you, Mikhala

What a great teacher. I pray that more will discover these videos and be blessed by them.
Francis S. was a great man of God. He had a tremendous impact on the world and even on my own life.

You are right on. It's tyranny. & It's subtle until these last two years. Us Christians better speak up before it's too late & while we can.
