I found Melanie’s music when I was like 9 and I cried so much my parents called me a crybaby 💀 I listened to crybaby and it was really comforting after that I just became obsessed with her music
I found out about Melanie when it was still the K-12 era, but i stopped suddenly... Then Melanie got recommended to me so, i listened to her songs, it was so accurate to most of my traumatic experience.. So i never listened to the tiktok recommendations, Then portals came All i can say that I used to be a crybaby and now i began to see the world as something that drags you down, only you can help yourself and accept what you are.
I got into Melanie when she released the video for Dollhouse. That was so long ago. She's the first artist I ever "stanned", and I'm pretty consistent with the things I fixate on, so still a big fan, lol.
[note, this is long] in 2012ish, i heard about a girl called melanie martinez from the voice. i didnt think much about it since i was five. I was too busy about figuring out the world around me while having a sensitive heart my friends at the time were really into lps videos on youtube. coincidentally, melanie had a huge audience in that genre. thats when i started listening to her music. for one of the first times in my life, i felt seen. when I was 10, I used to avoid the mad hatter video when it was first posted cuz it was really scary to me. 9 months later, I grew some guts to watch it and then it was my favorite song from her for a while. oh, and playdate used to be UNDERRATED before it blew up in 2020 Once K12 came out ,I was so excited to see a new side of crybaby. I'd watch the film and listen to the album 24/7. It was very convenient because I was just starting my first year of middle school at the time. Over the years, I began to notice who and what was right for me, I started to step out of my shell to the right people. Now a sophomore in high school with portals coming out, I'm proud to not only have been a crybaby, but now an earthling. I'm so proud of her progress, both spiritually and talent-wise. Mel will always be apart of me. Thanks mel for letting us feel seen
I'm a Korean who loves Melanie. When I was 8 years old, I happened to watch Melanie's "Dollhouse" music video on UA-cam, and ever since then, I've been a fan of Melanie. She has become a part of my life, and whenever I faced teasing or hurtful words at school, Melanie always brought light into my life. I can't imagine a world without Melanie.
I grew up on playdate and mrs potato head and mostly just crybaby in general and it gives a lot of nostalgia just listening to it, and it’s my comfort album, obviously Mel has moved on from crybaby with portals completing the trilogy and I miss it, but I feel terrible about that because she’s discovering new ways to express herself and that’s amazing! I just don’t want be one of those fans that’s mad about Mel moving on but at the same time I can’t help it.
My friend started listening when she was six or something, she’s almost fourteen. I started listening at a young age also and it was cause her. We had so much fun at her concert a few weeks ago :)
i found melanie around 2016 i think?? my brother used to always listen to her and i would sit outside his door so i could listen too. in the tag youre it music video he saw the full black contacts and used to always say he wanted them. hes 21 now and a drug addict and melanies songs make me feel closer to him and who he used to be
I always loved Melanie Martinez as a kid. I was only 7 when I started listening to her crybaby playlist. She made crybaby and after my dad "teased" me about being a crybaby I found the crybaby song and somehow I stopped crying and started to sing along when I repeated it over and over. Thank you so much for making this playlist it makes me very happy to hear this many times but I'm still addicted to it. ❤
i think i came across her k-12 film and watched it since i've watched her 'detention' mv before. I really liked her since her music talked about real-life problems which music artists dont really mention about and i found her lyrics uniquely expressive and meaningful :)
dollhouse first makes me so nostalgic like i listen to her since uh 2015 and i was 10 :') im still a huge fan of her first album, its still my favorite
listening since late 2015 or early 2016? somewhere around that time. first song i heard from her was pity party, cuz i rlly liked mlp at the time (i was 9 lmfao) and i was watching a pmv of that one episode where pinkie goes insane.. i remember the 2nd song i heard from her was teddy bear, & i listened to it all the time but i was scared to sleep with my feet out of the covers cuz i thought one of my toys would climb out of the toy box, head to the kitchen & get a knife, come back to the bedroom, & stab one of my feet. i was maddd dumb 💀
OH, & i remember i never rlly cared for dollhouse as a kid, but i LOVED the dollhouse x gasoline nightcore mashup,, i even left a comment on the vid 6yrs ago! anyway sry for info dumping i js rlly love mel & i love talking abt my childhood memories listening to her lol
OH and i remember i used to do sing king karaoke of crybaby, but i didnt know how the pre-chorus went (the melody i mean) so id make one up myself,, i think i have a memory associated with each song from crybaby?

I can’t remember exactly when I first started listening to Melanie, all I know was that I was 10 years old, sitting on my bed watching a complication of animations. One of them had the song “Dollhouse”, which then led me to watch the actual music video. Then, two years later, I was listening to “Playdate” and I fell in love with the song; by that point, I was already a fan. I was 12 years old. Playdate is also the most nostalgic to me because on the day I first heard it, I had returned from the Doctor’s, and it was just an oddly serene day.
I found her through girls at my school talking about her and decided to listen, it must've been Jan-Feb 2017 and I was 13 at the time and I connected with a lot of her songs. Nowadays it just takes me back to when I was an angsty teen, but her songs are still great and I even connect with them now.
Yess, love this. Its funny to say that i found Melanie Martinez in my creepypasta phase in 2018. When i first listened to Dollhouse i fell in love with her work. Then my friend showed me k-12 and loved it more!
I got into Melanie in elementary when I was getting bullied and the first song I related to was crybaby and a lot of her other songs because it was so comforting to know other people where also like this and I was not the only person who was like this so her songs bring me so much comfort and happiness because she was the first one who made me feel a little bit more comfortable in my own skin 😊
I’ve listened to her music for years now and I love her but the fact that crybaby stuck with me and sippy cup because it reminded me of my personal issues and I just started liking more and more it’s like songs I can relate too
i still remember when i was on the schoolyard with my friend, sitting on the swing and she put on some music on her phone, playing carousel by melanie martinez. i always admired said friend and loved her style/aesthetic (she had really colorful hair and a unique fashion sense) so i started listening to melanie too, it must've been around 2017 or 2018, so listening to her older songs makes me feel so nostalgic, like im still friends with her, still in high school, still the little girl i was back then and still going through really tough times and learning how to cope with my trauma in rather unhealthy ways. sometimes i really miss those times, but going back in memory through music is just as fine.
been a fan since 2017 (found out about her through gacha at the time), and good lord is the crybaby album SO nostalgic although now i don’t listen to her that often anymore, she really shaped me as a person. my music taste, fashion taste, etc are all very much inspired by her
i swear i love melanie so much, i remember i first encountered her with the cry baby and dollhouse video, those songs literally where my comfort songs since the lyrics where so relatable for me, she is probably the first artist i had ever stanned since childhood.
the nostaligia is crazy, i feel like my 8 year old self when i first descovered her! her music brings me the same excitment to the first time i heard these songs x
I used to love listening Melanie songs, also because I got the nickname of a crybaby when a kid by my teachers and friends. Listening to her songs that are from the K-12 era is so nostalgic and bring lots of memories.
I found this lovely amazing artist just on my UA-cam fyp and the first song I ever heard was crybaby and I fell in love with her style how much she cares about her music and the amount of time and effort she puts in it is amazing ♥️
I found Melanie Martinez because of my friend during middle school while we just had the crybaby album to listen to (I'm now 21 and in my 3rd year of college), loved Melanie's music ever since and I don't think I ever will stop. Her music is one of the reasons I was able to get through the toughest part of my life (so far), I'm happy my friend showed me Melanie Martinez.
12 year old me was so obsessed with dollhouse because I related to it on another level. I even remember myself sobbing to it. Then I became a big fan of her. (she's probably the only artist I can sing 1 full album of theirs). After this K-12 was pretty big for me aswell, we were all so happy that her movie was going to be free lmao but then youtube did all of us dirty and removed it (all of us who weren't able to watch it in that short span of time were devastated) after a few days. before Melanie put it back on youtube💀

crybaby, the song, was always such an important song to me. i had massive separation issues with my dad when i was younger, i started elementary school just after my parents divorced, so whenever my dad showed up for a parent event and had to leave after, id be crying for the rest of the day. kids would bully me for crying and call me crybaby over and over, and teachers never punished them.
I remember coming across melanie in a gacha life music video for crybaby. I never related to her songs, but her songs were always so soothing in their own way, and really fast Melanie became my favorite music artist
I knew Melanie since I was 10 because of those MMD animations of Dollhouse, Tag You’re it and Pity Party (+ more). I started listening to her music since then but I wasn’t really a die hard fan. Around 2017, I forgot about her until my friends sent me the link to the K-12 movie in 2019. So yeah, I’d say I consider myself an OG
I remember i got into Melanie in early 2016, i don't remember how, perhaps an anime AMV. But the aesthetic of Melanie for an 11 year old is just charming!! I've never been able to go to a concert, but i still remember every detail of the day i went to watch k-12 in September 2019, i feel like Melanie just fosters this atmosphere of love and understanding in her songs, and her whole brand is just accepting. It hits when im suddenly crying with Ms.Potato Head or Orange juice and feeling the lyrics of Strawberry Shortcake or Nymphology.
Got introduced to Melanie from my cousin when I was like 8 or 9 when she first showed me alphabet boy and I’ve loved her ever since (even after I almost broke my ancle listening to mad hatter on my trampoline but still) Me and my cousin are seeing her during the trilogy tour in June so excited 😊😊
I found Melanie when I was trying to make a song of my own, for the title I searched google images and my song just so happened to be called “crybaby” so that’s what I searched up and here we ate
I personnaly discoverd her music with my best friend at the time when we were like, nine. It was propably 5 years ago 😅 but today I don't think we should hate pepoles who comes from tiktok because they're a part of the community and it's better to have them than nothing. But I do also think thant it's the better feeling in the world to discover Melanie in her early success ❤️☺️
I know Melanie, when i was first born i saw melanie martinez, she was amazing! i watched her music, music videos! i loved crybaby alot. :) looked up to her as my first ever idol.
When I started listen to melanie i felt for the first time in my life that I was not alone and that maybe not around me but there are people who understand even tho they dont know me but they sure know the feeling..
Me who came from my extremely old Gacha phase: 🫢 I think I was around 8 or 9 when I first heard Melanie’s music, I’ve been listening to each of her songs since.
i found melaine when i was like 7-8 and it was k-12,i remember like with my 4th grade friend for my bday we watched k-12 together, and we also watched this horror movie that scared me for like a year
When i was 5 or 4,my mum was in a important phone call, i had to be in my brothers room, the song cry baby popped up, he was a big fan, i was intrested in it and ever since then ive been a huge fan.
Been here since the beginning. Watched her on the voice because my mom had been watching it. I was about thirteen then. Was re recommended her stuff in 2015, when she released her album. I believe I was into her when there were only singles at first and then the whole album dropped. Good times. True og over here ahaha
I found melanie through a my little pony speed paint in 2016(?) I had a friend that also loved melanie martinez, and we were in choir together and would sing the crybaby album all the time in school. I kinda miss that friend. We just kinda grew distant after their mom made them drop out of school.
I started listening to her at 6 my first song I ever listened to was “Mad hatter” I was told it was “inappropriate” and “bad” now I photos of my at her concerts
I think i found Dollhouse a few months after its release? Absolutely loved her music, some favorites rn being like Teacher's Pet, Drama Club, and Nymphology as well. Drama Club needs more appreciation though istg
I started listening to Melanie on a old computer a bit before the k-12 era, I didn't know how to inform myself so I only knew about the movie in 2020. Anywaayyss, I stopped somehow in the middle or end of 2020 but I'm always going and coming back. But she has been my favorite singer ever since I listened for the first time. (i didn't have a fav singer before) I'm a proud crybaby/earthling!!
i found out about Mel from TikTok back in 2020 back when it’s was still the K-12 era but i didn’t even know who she was but i just now started listening to her in mid 2023 and i don’t regret anything but i do still feel weird bc i didn’t listen to Mel when i was little lol

Melanie is such a vibe tho like I jst love her so much there's no artist that makes me feel the way she does with her music❤️
A friend in primary school showed me her music i loved it so when i got my ipad at 9 i got youtube music and Spotify and listened almost 24/7
I randomly discovered her music on UA-cam when I was way younger and I still listen to her, I have all the songs memorized lol

People who relate to dollhouse and carousel
crybaby, the song, was always such an important song to me. i had massive separation issues with my dad when i was younger, i started elementary school just after my parents divorced, so whenever my dad showed up for a parent event and had to leave after, id be crying for the rest of the day. kids would bully me for crying and call me crybaby over and over, and teachers never punished them.
Doll house was the first song of hers I ever heard. The nostalgia I felt when it was the first to play was insane
I remember coming across melanie in a gacha life music video for crybaby. I never related to her songs, but her songs were always so soothing in their own way, and really fast Melanie became my favorite music artist
Melanie's songs are so relatable honestly 🫠
I knew Melanie since I was 10 because of those MMD animations of Dollhouse, Tag You’re it and Pity Party (+ more). I started listening to her music since then but I wasn’t really a die hard fan. Around 2017, I forgot about her until my friends sent me the link to the K-12 movie in 2019. So yeah, I’d say I consider myself an OG
i quite literally listened to her when musiclly ws here bruv
I remember i got into Melanie in early 2016, i don't remember how, perhaps an anime AMV. But the aesthetic of Melanie for an 11 year old is just charming!! I've never been able to go to a concert, but i still remember every detail of the day i went to watch k-12 in September 2019, i feel like Melanie just fosters this atmosphere of love and understanding in her songs, and her whole brand is just accepting. It hits when im suddenly crying with Ms.Potato Head or Orange juice and feeling the lyrics of Strawberry Shortcake or Nymphology.
thank you i love this is my fav playlist :)
melanie got me through quarantine, im not sure why but i cry whenever i listen to these songs and i like it, brings back memories
Got introduced to Melanie from my cousin when I was like 8 or 9 when she first showed me alphabet boy and I’ve loved her ever since (even after I almost broke my ancle listening to mad hatter on my trampoline but still) Me and my cousin are seeing her during the trilogy tour in June so excited 😊😊
the dollhouse creepypasta amvs i watched in 2015 will never leave my soul
I found Melanie when I was trying to make a song of my own, for the title I searched google images and my song just so happened to be called “crybaby” so that’s what I searched up and here we ate
I personnaly discoverd her music with my best friend at the time when we were like, nine. It was propably 5 years ago 😅 but today I don't think we should hate pepoles who comes from tiktok because they're a part of the community and it's better to have them than nothing.
But I do also think thant it's the better feeling in the world to discover Melanie in her early success ❤️☺️
Ive been listening to melanie for like 6 years. I adore her
Your pfp 🥺💞
I love frogs :3
great playlist!:)
thank you sm!
I forgot all abt Melanie for a VERY VERY long time.. this just popped up... love itt

I would always listen to Melanie Martinez before I start to listen to tictok
Her songs had alot of meaning
I never understand gatekeeping Melanie but I appreciate the nostalgia playlist ^^
I have a traumatic story of my own to go with just about every song of hers.
I saw her by UA-cam!!! It was 2 years ago!! But I lisen to her all the time! ❤
Dollhouse and Crybaby immediately brought back a wave of nostalgia from the gacha videos 💀💀🔥🔥🔥‼️‼️‼️‼️😍😍😍😍
I LOVED HER SINCE I WAS SEVEN AND WATCHED K12 WHEN IT WENT LIVE!!! 😙
i've listened to dollhouse since i was like 8 and i always felt a connection to it until i got older and realized that i was being abused.
All playlists that i found have the new songs in them and idk them cause i don't like listening to new stuff. This really helps my inner child ty
For someone it's nostalgia, for someone it's LIFE.
i found melaine when i was like 7-8 and it was k-12,i remember like with my 4th grade friend for my bday we watched k-12 together, and we also watched this horror movie that scared me for like a year
Dollhouse and crybaby have always hit hard for me I have a toxic family and I used to be bullied for how much I cried

I think i found Dollhouse a few months after its release? Absolutely loved her music, some favorites rn being like Teacher's Pet, Drama Club, and Nymphology as well. Drama Club needs more appreciation though istg
I'm so glad the dollhouse music video popped up randomly on my UA-cam one day in middle school
I was 2 when I found Mel in 2014! Wasn’t there for k-12 but I was for portals and crybaby! This is just honestly so nostalgic!
I first showed interest in her when I was about five
