My racing dream
Thankful you are ok! I hate crashes 😮
Never give up tanner you no the drill 😂
Best of the best...
Glad you’re ok bud. Keep your head up.
Man, glad you are ok. Another race ahead of ya.
That's one of the great things about sprints and midgets that I love. The way that they are built they are pretty darn safe. I have seen a lot more drivers come out of wrecks in sprints and midgets after they are involved in a multi-car or solo car accident and be ok. Those kind of nights are going to happen for Everyone be it a new kid or a very seasoned veteran. Y'all have one thing in common, y'all are perfectly imperfect humans. Thank you for sharing this video with us. May y'all have better good ones have fun take care
Great to see that you were ok after that hard hit.
Keep your head up you're a damn good racer
keep your head up buddy
Glad you’re ok. You’ll figure it out. All up from here.
Hoping to be able to race here for the first time in May running a Mod Lite. Love going to a new track.
Great to see Jax. Not so much on car. Glad you are ok.
Tanner glad to see your alright but that track looks spooky really greasy and slick. But don't beat yourself up over it we've always said sheet metal can be repaired. Stay safe and waiting for the next one.
Tanner are you going to make a surprise visit to Meeker OK Tuesday for High Limits?? That would be awesome if you did!! Sucks you had a bad night racing! Things will go up and get better!!
It looks so much more violent from your perspective then it did on TV
That's a hard one to watch, smallest of mistakes. But Love your determination, you'll have a great night coming up! Bounce back higher.
Keep digging man, you’re running with the best and representing yourself and your team well! Cheering you on from Kansas.
We overcome adversity before we win. Glad all are ok.
Took one on the chin....thank God you're ok....still rooting for you buddy....keep your chin up ...tougha guy time
im sorry to see that🤕🤕🤕🤕
Feel for you Tanner, very talented driver and your time will come - share the hell out of your channel - keep diggin
Keep your head up man, your a bad a$$. Hard work pays off.
You can see in the video your car was at the best. at least you’re OK. It happens but the good thing is you often don’t do that. put in the past and move onto the future. you’re at the top level. You have to run hard.💯💪
Tanner good to and hear your ok. Don’t ever doubt your talent I have all the confidence in you and your crew. I know also you are loved by many. God bless you and your family. Heads up!!!!!!❤❤😮😮😮😮
At least you’re in one piece. 🇬🇧
Well that didn’t go to plan
Take a re person to admit and take responsibility. Best of luck can't wait to see you at Lincoln or the Grove
You keep doing what you are doing I’m proud of you and what you all have accomplished keep going it will turn around for you I know it!!!!
So happy your OK tanner!! Hang in there cause I know in my heart your team has what it takes to get to the top.ive watched you since you were young at my hometown red bluff and have followed your team exclusively.i feel for your parents cause I have kids of my own.again, hang in there Holmes family.hope Carly is healing well and really can't wait to see her behind the wheel again. Thank you for being you and your always in my prayers God bless!!
Glad you're ok !!
Tanner put that all out of your head you are a great racer, things happen and you will come back from it, never give up, go forward young man‼️🤩🤩🤩🤩👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 GOOD LUCK IN YOUR NEXT RACE‼️👏👏👏👏👏
I’m sorry, Tanner
This is me Jaxx Johnson
It’s ok Tanner if it was easy everyone would do it. You’ll get it next time.❤
Keep you head up high Tanner. Bad luck hits us all. And when we make mistakes as long as we learn from it, it’s a positive. You got this man.
As you age and gather experience, you will learn more about your weakness and strength. Take those lessons and gain better decisions on the moment.
Watch back what you said in this video as it will help you going forward.
Settling for a bad night is better than making for a worse night.
You can do it, and will!
So glad you are safe, keep grinding Tanner 😢
You need to let go of the steering wheel when you crash to prevent breaking your hands, wrist or ever your arm. Cross your arms in a crash
Easier said then done happens so fast
I learned that the hard way! It only takes one time!
He does most the time
Glad you are OK. Tough night.
Tanner, You are a special young man. You couple candor and determination with such class. That's what makes the THR team so enjoyable to follow. You, Carly, mom and dad still have much sunshine ahead. ✌✌
Really enjoy your videos. There are done with such insight. Great job. Keep digging !!!
aww shucks..
Bad night Glad you’re ok thanks for sharing the good and the bad
Go for it.
You rode that fence like a champ
Stay strong Tanner...
Hang in there. We'll see you soon.
You got this
Man, I’m glad you’re alright. Crazy how fast a little bump will put you over the cushion and instant bad night.
As for unloading with speed, could the immediate issue have been your stagger? Maybe that’s a track that the stagger has to be spot on? Is there a formula for that?
Degree of angle in corner. And corner radius.. the biggest factor in chassis is the shock absorbers. Don't know but it looks like tanner could use some help with shock setting.. 👍
Bummer glad your ok
Good luck next time
I've never raced in real life, like you Tanner, but I've been going to dirt tracks and watching since I was a youngster, with my dad. I do, however, sim race and I totally understand what you're saying in your post-race analysis. There are many times when you're closely following a pair of drivers in front of you and you're still in your rhythm. As that situation progresses though and you get closer to a pass, you must, by necessity, change your rhythm, ever so slightly. That is the crux. It becomes exponentially harder to change that rhythm and still stay on your marks and keep the car under control.
In sim racing, I find that "hounding" is the usually the best tactic. Keep your rhythm, albeit slower than you want, and keep hounding, putting the pressure on. You are in control when you're the following car. You can force a mistake by the other driver in front, by just being doggedly, stubbornly, "The Hound Dog"! Just don't fall prey to getting "too close" and not having a way out :)
Cheers, Sev
Hi, Tanner, you got your bell rung there pretty good and it took a little while for you to straighten out from that, but I'm sure you made it and you should be in better shape for the next race. I'm sure you learned something to do better next time. Don't forget, the lows just make the highs feel that much better. God Bless and stay safe.
How bad did you hurt the frame hopefully not to bad where triple X can fix it glad your ok but it's tough to do with 1 car so keep digging and be safe until next time good luck
I’ve had a night where we had to carry it into the trailer! It happens!
Heard about this one while in Dallas for the Eclipse event. But looking back it was a wild ride. Can’t tell if the chassis is bent of not, but glad you were ok and not hurt. Cars can be replaced easily. Hopefully you get out of early season rough stretch and get back. With strong runs. There tons of season left to get some wins.
Keep the Faith Tanner
Tanner there’s a saying… If it was easy , every body would be doing it racing. You and your team stepped up this season and there’s a growing pile of damaged parts accumulating. Don’t get discouraged, it takes a tremendous amount of seat time to earn your way to the top and see the results. Your journey is just beginning, and you’ve shown moments of brilliance and maturity. Can’t say enough of how proud we all are of you, fight on!
as you said tanner “things are replaceable.” your not glad your alright tanner got a big weekend ahead of you Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday. you got this tanner we’re all proud of you. don’t let these bad nights get to you.
At some stage in our lives we go through bad patches. Having followed you for years now I think this is the first really, really bad patch you have had. Never known you to have been so down on yourself. I feel for you but know these bad times will pass and the Tanner we all know will emerge again. Soon, my cousin ( Toby, from Sprintcar Hub) will be over in USA and he will tell you his stories of Racing.
It’s going to be hard, but put a smile on your face and let us see the Tanner we admire. Lots of love to the whole family from DOWNUNDER in Australia. Maryann. ( the old lady)……
It really just looked like you pulled a tear off late and missed your timing on the corner and turned in late, caught the right rear on the wall. Parts are parts, Tanner is Tanner, which is more important? Best of luck in Texas
Get the right front shock right and the rest can be moved to work with it. You know that, easy to say but that is key at every track.
It's a head game while out there racing, you have so much talent for a young man and your very smart. Don't let one bad night ruin your year. God bless THR and your loved ones. Little brother can't wait to see you winning again. Carly will have your car ready real soon. On to the next track and hopefully you can bring home a victory for your team
Very early in the season. Massive endeavor you are on. Hang in there. Learn more from failures than from success. Just getting some additional learning out of the way early
There's an old saying in open wheel racing if you're gonna race midgets or sprint cars you're bound to get flight time. What to me like you had a handful in the corners and the car was way off balance. It's just one race and it's early in the season so I wouldn't worry about it too much things are bound to get better!
Yes this is the track I got my start working in the pits on cars, when it was known as West Siloam Springs Speedway with Sunday racing in the late 80s, when it was a 1/3 mile track, then it expanded to 1/4 mile, closed for a short time, reopened as West Siloam Speedway, still with Sunday racing, then it was closed for a long time, reopened for maybe a season or two, closed until it was re-branded as Flint Creek Speedway and now as Arrowhead Speedway, which I like and my last UA-cam video is from Arrowhead. ( I will add that it had native red dirt until recently under the banner of Arrowhead Speedway.) So just like I got to be at a race at Wheatland, Missouri before it was Lucas Oil Speedway, the same is true about going to races at what is now known as Arrowhead Speedway.
I remember seeing Carlton Davis Jr hot lapping his new street stock, the throttle hang wide open and he wreck a new car after going off of turn three and four when the track was known as West Siloam Springs Speedway, and just had expanded to a 1/4 mile with no wall on three and four.
I also have videos from dirt late model and usmts mod racing from this track when it was West Siloam Speedway, I was there when the bad wreck that happened in the late 90s when the usms raced there.(Which ended up on the cover of Stock Car magazine. ) I have pictures from that day, just not from the racing since I only had a simple 35mm camera that a person needed actually rolls of film to take pictures, which I had no flash, so no night photos. Yet I do have pictures nonetheless.
West Siloam Springs Speedway is also the first place I was a part of a late model and IMCA mod track championship in the early 90s.
I was there in the 90s when the fireworks show went wrong, lighting up the eastern sky like a sunrise causing the power to go out due to the fact the fire burned up the transfer pole.
Not to mention the fun times with characters such as Rex Merritt, Randy Farley, Klint Presley, Eddie Martin, Greg Skaggs, Kelly Shryock, Kyle Beard, and many others over the years.
Keep digging that comes with the territory
From your video it looks like your right rear exploded thus sending yo into you flip.
Keep digging Tanner even the best have those nights, how many times has Larson or Rico been upside down. It just comes with the territory.👍
You ran half a year with shark and the races this year on the Big Stage with minimal car damages til now. No shame because everyone that's in the hunt is gonna wad one up every once in a while.
No matter what you post Tanner, I usually always just upvote it, on basic principle. You're giving so much to your fans, that I just invariably, want you to succeed and help you in any small way I can.
That being said, I still want to help you to improve your videos and your dialogue with us fans. I'm still a grammar guy, by heart, and will always try to help you to speak more correctly :) You said, "Drive the thing smooth.", but should have said, "Drive the thing smoothly."... I know, when you think about it, you know the latter is the correct way to say it.
"Smooth" is an adjective, which describes a noun, as in, "I had a smooth drive" ("drive" being a noun, in this instance) . However, "smoothly" is an adverb, which describes a verb, as in, "I try to drive smoothly" ("drive" being a verb, in this instance). So, when describing how you "drive" (a verb), you have to say "smoothly" (an adverb), to make sense.
Just want to help you grow and be the best you can, so I hope you don't mind some subtle criticism, now and again :)
Love the videos, so keep them up! Best of luck to you in your WoO endeavor, I'll be watching and rooting for you.
Cheers, Sev
Okay
Weirdo
@@forwarddrive4066 such an unnecessary comment i don't get why he posted that
In the b main I noticed that you was just following those 2 guys in front of you. They was fighting each other like crazy but u would let off the gas each time you got close. Your going to have to gas and go
😞
I don't know if you're into comic books at all, but I offer you this quote:
"Why do we fall Bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves up."
- Thomas Wayne
You'll bounce back dude.
Getting all the bad luck out of the way early. Everything will get better from here on out.
Tanner don't let this bump in the road get you down we wrecked a lot of cars over the years one thing I'm gonna tell you engine sounds flat from the flag stand that's usually a lean condition first do a clean plug check me personally I'd put a full flat richer on the barrel valve fatten it up you might be very surprised just keep what your doing
So it isn't OK in OK
Change your juju and get the clock off the wall that both hands point down!
👍🏻
Hopefully i can play you in world of outlaws game soon
Sucks dude! But… Metal is replaced fairly easy..
You are all good.. That’s what matters..
On to the next one..
Really kind of thinking not having a experienced crew chief may be hurting your program. I know you guys are getting that experience yourselves but now days results matter in big time racing. Sponsors expect some progress. I think you will get there but a little help doesnt hurt. Pitting right by Shark racing like you are doing, helps too..
It hard to unload fast at track you haven't been at before.
The very best in the business crash at least a couple of times every year, don’t sweat it. You weren’t injured, that’s most important. Cars are much easier to fix than the driver. Take it, move forward and build- you will get there.
Kiddo, things will turn around. Best news is you weren't hurt. See ya' in June. 👍
Bad way to make the highlight reel. Keep digging and stay safe out there.
If you never f'd up your not giving it your all.
And your crew chief is ??
... you said it yourself. If you don't have a good set of notes when you unload you're never going to get caught up.
Seriously….lady in the stands (in black) stands up and cheers for the crash. Absolutely disgusting display. Glad you are okay.
I was just going to type the same thing, that was as shameful a display as I have ever seen. She is NOT a dirt racing fan, regardless of who "her driver" is, I can't imagine how anyone cold celebrate in any accident. I hope someone here knows her and can help her overcome her inner "Karen".
You've progressed far from any advice this old guy could give. Just happy you are OK. Don't get down. Keep looking up. That's where the stars are. You're right there with em.
What are you even seeing? I didn't see anyone cheering but it was probably about the battle going on for the transfer spot.
I couldn't tell if you caught the fence or something broke in the video.
Somtimes your a driver and sometimes your a rider. That's racing.
been watching for years, the amount you have come is amazing, hope to see you grow even more this year, good luck to ya 👍
edit: unfortunate night, hope you rebound quick
Sorry T,,,,,,Go run with High Plains instead! U don't have the equipment or experience for the WOO!, Some of the voters don't either with the WOO
Shake it off kid so glad your okay that was a nasty wreck keep digging...
Talk the way you want to talk Tanner. It’s called being real. You’re a racer, not an English major. Concentrate on the car, not your grammar. Head up, keep digging.
It takes a mind shift to realize you're having a bad night - at that point - ya don't race anymore per se, ya run test laps to understand what you need from the car that is missing - like a test. If you get out of the B - GREAT. If not, get ready for tomorrow . Number 1 goal at that point is to bring it home in one piece. I get it, it goes against every notion in your body but you have to get there. Every night you miss the inversion in qualifying , you have to shift into it being more of a test night.
