For that marss has all my respect, he knows when his oponent Is better than him, Its good to admit when someone Is better and try your Best to defeat them, marss Is definite top 10 when playing his best
So the reason why Arsene dair is so inconsistent is because Arsene's stomp comes out in the middle of the move. If Joker hits with the knife first then the stomp it will bounce them up further but if he hits with the stomp then the knife it will make them go almost nowhere. It's a strange little quirk with some of Arsene's moves since he isn't gracefully put at the end of the moves like you'd probably assume but randomly in the middle of moves which makes especially his dair very finnicky sometimes.
@@sharsasuke01 The sweet spot is most of the move and the only part that gets you the weak pop up is the back hit of the knife so as long as you aren't doing anything like aiming for reverse hit downairs it will sweet spot every time
I love the edge back into comp play since picking up joker, marss seems so stoked about learning new matchups and figuring out new game plans now that he’s moving away from zss, and while I’ll always love the zss I’m just happy to see marss performing well in tournaments again
Hes not really moving away from ZSS, just using both in certain MUs. Joker has a better time vs Fox according to Marss. He also has been making top 8 in recent tournaments because of his ZSS not his Joker. This tournament was an invitational where theres like 13 players so statistically you are more likely to place top 8 anyway
The fact that you said you had two sets with Light and you showed the one you lost in this video shows me that you are really focusing on getting better with your Joker. I respect that a lot, Marss.
I like seeing Marss review his sets and try to come up with new ways to play. It’s so interesting to see a top player thinking and talking about the game.
If you've been doing fair1 usmash, then fair1 fair1 is a good mixup to go for since it happens so fast nobody is usually ready to tech it. With missed tech, it also combos into jablock fsmash, which kills fox at ledge around maybe 60% lol
On a more serious note from my comment on the Steve video, I wonder if the people who thinks Marss is legit an "I'm mightier than thou" guy ever sees these videos where he'll legit even joke on and critique himself for bad/could be better play.
Marss you are my favorite player. I’m really happy to see this kind of analysis and I’m craving an explosive joker run sometime soon. I know you gotta make income from your career and I would be very interested in some more competitive/educationally focused content. One idea: what If there was a series where people could send in sets and you give feedback? Personally I’m very curious about how you view the psychological aspects of smash.
Would his knowledge not be lacking if he hasn't played the character a lot? I feel like this commentary is so good cause he kinda knows what works and what doesn't? I do like the idea though
5:06 That was a clean ass play, the hit box on Arsene UpSmash is an arc, so it basically covered all options that Light could do atm, neutral get up, roll in, roll away, I think it mattered he missed the tech because he might have had enough time to shield if he tech roll’d away, Light would have have to been at the edge of the play on the right side to either barely avoid the UpSmash or have enough time to shield, probably would still get hit because UpSmash is a fast move and has a wide hit box.
If it’s a scrapping situation, and you have a read, then yeah, but light mixes up so much that it’d essentially be a random upsmash, it’s doable, you’ll see people do that stuff in since the dawn of Smash 64, but when something is so unreactable it’s always a risk.
Pretty sure the second dair where he didn't get sent high was a case where he was just inside the percentage for fox to be able to tech it. Any higher and it would have popped him up for the up smash. Also, Fox Nair is -4 on shield when not parried and when performed early, it's -3 when performed late. Joker Upsmash has 10 frame start up because it bypasses shield drop and is your fastest grounded OoS that isn't grab. So even with a parry you likely won't even land up smash. Fox nair busted. Haven't tried it in the lab though, depending on where he hits your shield it might be possible to upsmash. Downsmash definitely won't be fast enough even with the parry advantage.
Even though you lost the fact you used your half-baked Joker in bracket against another top player and it looked as good aa it did shows how nasty your Joker will be in the future. You legit might already be the best Joker and will definitely be the best Joker soon. Keep up the grind.
I like Light’s nair > up smash mode. As a Fox player, I have to respect it Oh and you are correct about the lasers being used to push you into the % window
I'm picking up Joker and I also use tap jump, I find it a lot easier to move around, jump and to really fast turn arounds like down throw bair I'll always be a die hard tap jumper
i think if you camp fox more w gun and making him approach, you’ll win. all the times you lost was straight up when u fell into his shield w either nair or fair and then he does fox stuff 🙄 u had light that whole set you just need that ✨zss touch✨ on ur joker can’t wait bro
By away do you mean towards/with the flow of the blade? Because it does look like that far corner doesn't get touched DEPENDING on character there I imagine.
@@lyrics2challenged away from the blade yea towards the corner the hitbox is very weird it looks like it should hit sometimes and it doesn’t even with the character inside the slash effect
Marss could react and let the upsmash rip while he rolled away and it would still catch him im pretty sure cuz fox roll is 32 frames but is only intangible from 4-14 so it would catch him in the middle of the roll.
Light gets every ounce of my respect but I hate Fox as a character. He is just balanced enough to slip under the radar and just unpopular enough to not make people react like they do to Steve.
@@frontseatdevil7831 they have a point. He's definitely getting better (not SDing once per game anymore lol) but Marss said himself he still has to of course improve in general and improve his joker. The fact that you showed the set you lost instead of the won makes me respect you even more
I love you
That and he explicitly admitted that Light threw the first set. Respect.

Top player mindset right there, the difference between wanting to win and wanting to get better 🔥
(L)earn from your (L)osses. Harder to learn in a W
Marss lost because he was fighting Light. There's no doubt he would have won the set if it was Paris Ramirez,
Lmao
He lost because white pants light
he look like paris ramirez aye aye

Marss hit the arsene hitbox, fox was just inside the threshold to be able to tech it.

This is only the beginning of the marss Joker. Can't wait to see how it performs in the future
I love watching your battles Marss
Marss, joker fair 1 combos into nair at low percents and into another grab or a mix up jus for when u fight fox again
Marss joker is already built different tbh. Can’t wait to see where it goes
I don't know why but Marss strikes to me as a guy who would say "that's bussin, that's actually cap"
What's the song at 1:36? I feel like I know it but I just can't remember.
it's emotion from pokemon black white
Thank you
That charged upsmash was so great.
I saw that Light jumps a lot so I think it would be wise to go for more jump call outs with up smash, thoughts???🤔🤔
Fox is a fast faller, so its a little tough to punish it. It’s very fast lol
Thoughts are Fox has the fastest fall speed in the game so it’s almost impossible to punish or react to, and up smash is very punishable if he whiffs
Just run up and up smash pog
Preemptive air to airs are generally safer, and aerials that would put Fox offstage on hit would have similar reward to an up smash

Marss joker is new compared to how long other players have been playing their mains. Give it time & Marss will rise higher to the top.
Love the joker. Just got to Polish up some more but looking clean.
Stop feeding Rachel with the money I give you watching your videos
Great comment lol
How cruel of him, im very disappointed in the best content creator on youtube
What's the name of the outro song? I can't find it with just those lyrics.
0:50 don't you wanna instant dthrow cus jokers throw is fast so its harder to di out and u can get the bair
This was MKLeo's justification for never pummeling. If you down throw straight away they are less likely to have correct DI.
I like Light’s nair > up smash mode. As a Fox player, I have to respect it
Oh and you are correct about the lasers being used to push you into the % window
any chance we can start calling you Marssene when you go dummy mode with Joker? would really like to make that a thing
Whats the song when the video ends?
What’s the song for the outro?
Are those Nike free run 2s? They rerelease or you been rocking them since 2012?
They were fire tho
outro song?

I'll always be a die hard tap jumper
I can’t imagine trying to SDI with tap jump on though, I feel like I’d end up jumping way too much
Marss easily critiques other people's gameplay but it's ok as he does the same for his own gameplay
My favorite combo as fox is up smash into up smash
What is the outro song
Why did I think this was an epic rap battle of history video from the thumbnail 🫡

So he uses Rivals music but only one Rivals video on the channel. HMMMMM 🤔
White Pants Light vs Game 4 Leo, who wins?
I would say shield to beat him or disjoing to wall him out but Light has developed counter play.
The solution: Play a better character LOL.
He has the Rivals of Aether music in his set review but he never plays Rivals of Aether on stream, big sadge
The girlfriend bid secured the sub. I got one too..
The reason light hasn’t been on marss’s stream in a while is because he’s scared of accidentally making Tyler look like a bozo
