Fiji Attorney-General traditionally welcomed by the staff of Fiji Meteorological Services in Nadi

The Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Hon. Siromi Turaga met with the staff and members of the Fiji Meteorological Services in Nadi.
The A-G acknowledged the critical role that Fiji Meteorological Services plays in facilitating the development of efficient forecasting and warning systems for Tropical Cyclones and other Natural Disasters.
He also highlighted that his surprise visit to the Nadi Met office was to discuss and table a legislative program meant for the government for the upcoming parliament sitting.
“One of the ways in which the governments work and success can be measured is by the legislatives enacted because the legislation facilitates the work that you do.”
“You can’t do things that the law does not permit you to do and that is why I personally had to come.”
“I chose to come to interact with the Acting-Director because the bill must be engineered from here.”
The Attorney- General mentioned that a draft bill is already in place and it is being discussed with the Minister for Finance for its funding.
