Please stop blaming bench guys and CB! - Jamal played like a bench player who just came from the G-league...

Gotta stop the Murray excuses. If you’re hurt and can’t play, sit down. If you decide to give it a go, don’t be making the injured excuses. The big difference from this game and the previous was his insertion into the starting lineup and suddenly the whole team is thrown into disarray and chaos because he’s out there bogging down both sides of the ball.
It’s not even fair to then go on and shift blame to younger guys in their smaller roles because Murray is SUCH a disaster out there. It literally starts with him being a dysfunctional shell of himself and unable to stay in the games healthy.

The statistics are no longer demonstrating that the Murray lineups are better specifically given that if you substitute Russ in for Murray, that line up is a +28 in 98 mins. Which is the best out of any starting lineup permutation by at least 15 pts

Yoo… that’s such a lie. The best lineup we have atm is with Westbrook, jokic, Gordon, Braun & mpj on a decent amount of possessions.
And that’s mostly because of defense.

Imagine if we hadn’t resigned Murray…. Could be trading him for Lavine

The root issue with Denver this year is their performance during the non-Jokic minutes. It’s clear that when Jokic is resting on the bench, there’s a noticeable drop-off in the team’s effectiveness and energy. They’re still searching for a player-or a group of players-who can step up during those stretches, but so far, the results have been highly inconsistent. We all thought the previous game vs the Suns might be the turning point of the season, but the team reverted to their inconsistency again last night.

Man, they ought to have titled this the "Whistling Past The Graveyard" episode. Things are worse than you're stating here. Murray is seeming ALWAYS coming off injuries...so I'm not sure how long that's gonna be a valid excuse. Gordon is having issues with the same calf strain that's bugged him all season. Jokic has never looked as pissed and unhappy as he has out there lately. People are getting fooled by Denver winning the majority of their last few games....they've still looked BAD in good portions of even the wins. There's nothing they're showing right now that let's me think they'll be able to "rest the starters"...which was what 75% of these media guys' prescription after last season was. And with the Murray (and Gordon to an extent) extensions, they're between a rock and a hard place in regards to roster flexibility.

Jamaal really needs to come off the bench until he can play the way he is suppose to.

Westbrook brings way more energy than Murray does!

So you are saying if you beat them the first time it's ok to not give effort the next one. Wide open 3's and the middle of the paint so easy to score in, going to be hard to win. Murray was in the way. It's that he makes 50 million dollars is why he does not get a pass with us. I see but a hand full of players that are worth this 50 mill a year. GM's need to pump the breaks. Nuggets need a coach that can win points with out Jokic. Does he not need to be better too?

Losing doesn't bother me. Playing so lazy that the ball gets taken out of your hands, throwing passes that have no chance of reaching the target, missing 1/3 of free throws and only fighting for rebounds if it's against a team mate are the things that kill all of my vibes. Playing like you are at a crappy job is what bothers me.

Call it like it is if Murray played like he's paid to play Denver would've won.

Strange tactics by Maloney, almost as he wanted to expise some things, what things -i dont know. I wonder if is it indicative in any way that Gordon, Jokic even Josh Kroenke were guests in MPJ podcast, but not Jamal. It looks as Denver is a team which was together on a personal level but not any more. They simply became more just as any other NBA time and it takes time to get used to this new regime. Will they manage to shift towards more of professionalism and less friendship is to be seen.
Jamal run out of excuses attributed to injuries. Such excuses do not hold water any more. The problem is not MPJ but Murray (and Zeke contract). KPC was lost because Jamal contract and the team may be broken, MPJ lost because of Jamal. It is unfair to blame Maloney or even Booth. Maloney is operating with what he is given. Booth model of combination of established and young players is a rational model for Denver type franchise.
Maybe it is best for Denver is to be patient this season even if it implies sacrificing possibility of becoming champions and then over the summer tackle the trouble. And the trouble is not MPJ or young players but Jamal. By doing so there is also a chance that things would get right. NBA is more than anything a business and it is unthinkable to put assets as Muray on bench as it would happen in Euroleague. Well maybe Nuggets need to go unconventional and do exactly this.,This would give Jamal time for inteospective, to cool down, to assess things and to reset as he run out of excuses to blame perpetual injuries. Maybe Jokic or Gordon needs to organise a few "only players" bbq parties and where all of them have to attend in order to clear issues between players if this is the problem too. All Denver journalist seem to be afraid to call truth on those issues and this approach doesnt help this team.

Least of the problems but Jokic has been kind of coasting and disinterested the last few games also. Whether out of fatigue or to make some kind of larger point I don't know.

We have to start letting go of this absolute fantasy that the defence "limited x or y from scoring" or "limited the other team from scoring 3s".
When you leave a team wide open and they just miss their shots, that's not good defence!
I understand that with a large enough sample size, this will even out, but it is utterly inapplicable on a single game or even a stretch of games basis. Let alone single quarters.

It’s also not a good look that your a worse team with Murray against a booker-less suns team as opposed to a few days ago when they faced the same team without Murray and won by almost 30 where they were on a 2nd night of a back to back

Maybe the NBA needs to take a lesson from Europe where if you don't play well, you're benched , even if you earn the big money. It is a game to game decision. The player that plays well stays in (of course yesterday, no one really did, but in general)

    • @Wladislav
      @Wladislav 17 днів тому +1

Facts. It's insane to me that it is just accepted that someone _has_ to play because he's being paid the big money.
      Play poorly, get benched.

Ok let’s be honest tho… as great as joker has been offensively especially early in the season.. he was great defensively I thought but as of the last 2weeks joker has been a liability on that end.. teams are running their bigs right at the rim.. getting switches n guards are turning the corner.. granted some guards are getting blown by but if it’s no Watson or Gordon in the game.. there is no interior resistance. Also he can’t reach out enough to shooters on the pop with a well enough contest. It feels weird blaming joker for anything at this point of the season but jokers defense is problematic in the long run.. especially against the top tier athletic bigs. Also teams that shoot alot of threes it’s hard to corral those rebounds at times so on those instances it could look rough on team rebounding numbers. But we should be first to the ball mentality all the time

Nuggs: Cam J Dorian FS D Hunter
    Hawks: MPJ
    Wizards: Saric Vlatko Strawther
    Nets: Holmes Watson 31 1st (D)
    26 2nd (A) Onyeka Zeke
paying nets picks for salary and two youngins for players along w/ salary.
Pick swaps and adding another like Hunter or Pickett would work. Cal gotta let go of his BS w/ these rooks. If not Malone Cal and MPJ Murray will be gone in the summer. Or in a catastrophic on BRAND for the Kroenkes. Jokic finally is pissed and asks out. If you watch his body language lately he is at his wits end.

    Murray is an mma fan
Saw a video of him rolling aggressively with a
    Jujitsu pro earlier this year?
Are any of his injuries from other than basketball?
    I hope not
I’m a joker fan first and a nugget fan second.
Or is this a we have other interests away from basketball?

Suns didn't ruin anything.. The split was expected. And the Nuggets other than Jokic are doing this to themselves. The rest of the starters need to earn thier paychecks

It’s not really that hard to win back to back games against the same opponent it happens quite often in the play offs.
This is an indicator of mental toughness or in this case a lack of it. Which again points the blame towards the coaching staff.
I love American Bball analysts, you guys are all about very basic obvious observations, providing no real solutions but regurgitating fluff just like Melone does during post game losing press conferences. You guys never ask why instead look for excuses.
    Maybe try the 5Ws approach.
The 5 W's are a set of questions that can be used to analyse games and plan coaching sessions:
    What: What is happening?
Who: Who are the key players involved?
Where: Where on the field is it happening?
    When: When is it happening?
    Why: Why is it happening?
The 5 W's are a tool for gathering information, analysing situations, and communicating effectively. The goal is to gain a factual answer to each question.

This game was good and Denver looked great, unlike before. If Gordon had played the last quarter, it would have been completely different. But the main reason is clearly visible, and that is CB, who has been very bad in the last 8 games (shot for three points in 8 games on 2/22). With him Julian and PW too. You can't play 25 minutes and scored CB 5pts 30 min, Julian 2pts 25 min, Watson 22 min 4pts. If each of them scored just 4 points more, in the attacks where they missed, Denver would have gone home with the W. The team looks better than at the beginning and will only get better if injuries bypass us.

Nuggets missing easy, unguarded shots is the problem
