This is an absolutely gorgeous machine. You wouldn’t even know it was from that decade. It’s futuristic looking, still contemporary, and functions better than any current machines.

I never tire of Frigidaire pulsating washers, although this set is the most gorgeous I've ever seen.

Ah, the '58's got the boot.
They sure look nice and run very smooth and quiet. The custom made agitator parts look fantastic.

Wow, I am so naive. I thought that pulsator was mint original🤦🏾‍♂.

@@wyzemann The rubber rings and detergent cap are molded reproduction rubber parts of new old stock original parts, so they look and feel exactly the same as the originals but the rubber is softer like it was when the machine is brand new.

What a beautiful pair of machines. Back when top loaders washed your clothes. I’ve been a front loader fan since 1980 when my ex partner gave me a slant front Westinghouse. Been using them ever since. Great water saver and living in Palm Springs, that’s important

My Mothers firstvautomatic(GE) was delivered 3 days before I was born 1953 and finally replaced when I graduated 1971. They don’t make them like that anymore

I was amazed by how quickly it spun at high speeds before the drum was even emptied. Didn't give it much time to clear the water out, but it did! SO much better than a front loader.

That is because this is a solid tub machine which were common in early automatic washers. The wash tub has no holes in it except for one row right under the top rim, when the machine goes into spin it literally throws the entire tub of 10 gallons of water via centrifugal force up and out of the tub into the outer tub where it is slowly pumped down the drain.

Why do you care so much about a washing machine? You are a man, shouldn't you be talking about cars and sports?

@@diegoiunou Well isn't it obvious? Vintage washing machines are a heck of a lot more interesting than cars and there is nothing more boring to me than sports!

@@automaticwasher Ah! very nice. I'm hoping to get permission to bring in my 1984 Design2000. All it needs is a new timer (which I've since aquired) and a good cleanup. It's since gotten dirty again after being restored 2 years ago.

@@retrostudio5600 Nope this washer is 67 years old and working like it's brand new. My '57 Frigidaire washer isn't going to break down anytime soon. If it does I have enough original parts stored away to keep it running for the rest of my life, long after your modern machine's 21st century control boards and circuits have fried and died.
