I'm definitely a🫀/🫁 gal. Every exam in nursing school that is covering those I always do well. I'm currently on my last year of nursing school, I'm taking pediatrics, OB and a second adult health class. My OB teacher is hilarious, so funny and makes the class very fun, I love her. I love your videos, I would binge watch them and it helps me to get motivated to study. Keep them coming Rachel! Super excited for this video! ❤️

I know it's not OB/GYN, but I'm so glad you're in Cardio. I've lost two friends, both women of color, to complications with pre-eclampsia and having strokes during pregnancy. Learn as much as you can, so you can save women like my friends.
why did you mention the fact that they're women of color lol
@@hydra4962 because being a woman of color “like myself” is a risk factor for getting pre-eclampsia!
Death rate for minorities due to pregnancy complications is higher than their white counterparts as well.

As a 28 year old who has had 7 heart surgeries (2 open heart surgeries) in the last 4 years, I am excited to see your cardiology rotation! I have congestive heart failure from all my heart has been through so this will be so interesting to me! Thanks for sharing your whole journey

I have been striving towards medical school for 7 years now. I took the MCAT for the 3rd time last month and I get my score back today. Watching your videos while I cool down at the gym gives me a lot of hope and joy. I’m hopeful for my score release today 🤞🏻

I always think even if you’re not learning something you know will apply, you’ll be surprised how it serves you later. What I’d keep in the back of my mind is to just remember what experiences and information you want to hold onto. Those moments where your brain lights up are always the ones that seem to get logged to the memory, which is why it’s ideal to light people up over whatever gets them going. I think good teachers often know that and humor is one of those universal devices. I think it would be really cool for you to get more of your people and coworkers on the channel. It would be very cool of those people to do it. At the very least it can shake things up a little, but maybe they can drop a little knowledge too.
Aww this reminds me of my cardiology rotation as well. I'm horrible at presenting as well but I was forced to learn on that rotation haha. Loved this ❤❤

I absolutely love how you go after the things you aren't strong in. Everything is a learning opportunity for you. Everything you learn is a thing you might help a future OB/GYN patient with. Love it! I hope you keep having fun and that you have confidence that your study methods have gotten you this far, and will get you the rest of the way. And cry if you want to!!!!

I’m only an undergrad and I really want to go into vetmed. I’m easily overwhelmed by how daunting the journey to being a Dr. seems especially at the beginning. When I’m discouraged I literally open my laptop and watch your videos- it makes me feel so much better. Seeing someone that I relate to and someone who is so real, girl bossing her way to her dreams is so motivating and inspiring. Thank you SO much Rachel, keep keepin it real. Hey Rachel! Loved this vlog. Could you please include some tips on how you manage time on calls- say with family/friends/boyfriend. I feel a lot of my day wasted while talking on phone(I speak to my bf around 4 times a day)

I also should put my phone elsewhere when I’m studying. I’m in my last 17 weeks of undergrad and MAN-I get so distracted. It takes me way longer than it should to get my work done. I might try that…beginning next term lol.

I love how you deliberately went in to a rotation you have difficulty with . It really brings my hopes up about our future generation of MDs (older gen seem to be closed off to other specialties in an odd way) . You are going to be an outstanding physician just by how much effort you put in to knowing the little side aspects (your preceptor asking OBGYN specific cardio questions is beautiful !) .

ey Rachel. I love your videos and I am glad you are doing cardiology. I was diagnosed with peripartum cardiomyopathy after giving birth to my daughter. It is pregnancy-induced heart failure. Not many doctors know about this condition. It is pretty rare but not rare enough to be unknown. Since you are going in OBGYN, it will be great to know the signs and symptoms of this illness so it can be caught in time. Unfortunately, my OBGYN did not catch the signs and dismissed them. Keep up the great work. I love your videos.

Use Cerave Healing ointment on your burn, it’s a really good salve for wounds like that! And then BioOil once it heals for the scarring :)

During our OB rotation! I was able to watch a baby be born!! It was a vaginal birth! She pushed maybe 4 to 6 times! It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever watched! I want to see a c section.. as I’ve been on the receiving end. I love surgery

I'm a medical assisting student and I noticed whether it's a MA an RN or a doctor everyone prefers obgyn that's my nightmare I have zero desire to work with pregnant woman I'd rather work in a internal medicine , surgeons office or in an ER ,keep the preggos away from me

Cardiology is very interesting however my impression that you luv labor and delivery. My impression lately is that here in New Jersey the nurse practitioners and physicians are over loaded with work. There are good and bad in the NP’s, I was prescribed the wrong med for URI which got progressively worse until I ended up in the ER, I had pneumonia. Two telehealth visits and they were so backed up I could not even get in to be seen. Anyway the system needs an overhaul, it’s frustrating.
In college right now and watching your videos on my breaks makes me feel better about all the stressful things in life. 10/10. Also love the quality, what kinda camera do u use?

as someone in medical school what is your opinion on taking a nursing program as an undergraduate? I've heard it's good because you're already doing a lot of labs, clinical's etc but I've also heard some people say it's a bad idea
