This video helped me from start to finish. I struggled the most the removal and replacement of the door handle, but your video gave me the solution. Thanks.
This is a great video. I am saving this for when i can get a new regulator. BUT, i need a video on what you did to put the window up until you get the part. You obviously did some things before recording this.
At 03:26, you do not need to remove the outside door handle/key cover. That was the only problem I had - the cover of the key cracked. Just loosen the 3 bolts holding the latch on side of door to give a little flexibility to loosen the electrical connection.
I removed my passenger side motor from my 2007 santa fe and ran it on the driver side plug to test if the motor was OK... It was... I put it back on the passenger side door and now works but the switch is backward where pressing up lowers the window and down raises it both at the passenger door switch and the master switch on the driver door switch... Any thoughts or ideas? Have you seen this happen? I do not get it...
I'm in the same spot. Live in Florida and yesterday I hit my back passenger side button on accident from the driver side window switch and it went down and kept going down. Even though I stopped with the switch. It wouldn't go back up. I pulled it up and it just slid back down. When I go to the rear door switch, it makes no sound when pushing up or down. When I try from the driver's side door, up makes no sound, but there is a click if I go down. Do you think it is the regulator? Motor? I got this video saved if I am to tackle this project. I appreciate your video and commentary.
WOW....My 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe --- Driver side window --- decided to go down but not back up. Dont think its the motor because hit crackles when I press it up and down...just doesn't go anywhere. Not sure if I need to replace the motor or the whole thing (Regulator and Housing??) The Window is stuck in the down position too...so I don't know if that makes any difference. With all the rain in FL (Where I am too) need to fix this ASAP. I got the door panel off....Just don't know what to do after that. Cannot see what is wrong. But The Motor seems to work...just don't know if the there are other parts I need to look at to see why it will not go back up? Any thoughts?
The motors do not go bad. It's the regulator if you hear a crunching, crackling sound. To get the window up remove the speaker, remove the window motor, you should be able to push the glass back up and lock it in place.
@@captainredbeard2397 Could be the window switch. Remove the door panel. Apply current from a power screwgun power pack directly to the window motor. See if it works.
Mine decided to stop working this weekend. One thing happened to me and I'm not sure if it's related or not to this issue. One small sun cover rubber suction cup went inside the window last year by accident when I auto rolled down the window. This year the window started getting stuck on its way up only about 2-3 inches from the down position. It would move back down with no issues. I would "help" pulling the glass up with my hand to roll-up the window but I could see it will struggle half-way to continue moving up. Did that for a couple of months. Yesterday it got stuck in the same spot but I won't move anywhere. I tried to move it for good 20 minutes without luck. I could not hear any weird noises coming from the motor. I started my car and all of the sudden I was able to roll the window down. I rolled up with "hand help" and the window went all the way up. I just left it like that. Today, I removed the door panel to inspect inside the door but it's hard to tell what's the problem. I know I need to test the door switch and motor but I'm hesitant to remove the regulator assembly. Any hints on what could be the issue here? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
@@PowerUpAutoI will try that. Should I get the assembly with the motor included? I saw in your previous comments that the motors are typically OK and don't need to be replaced. Thanks for the help!
Not really. They do sell cable and bracket kits but I've never been able to get thise restrung. You need to change the entire regulator without the motor.
I need an in depth fix for the wires and pullies and getting the actual winding mechanism back together with the right amount of tension on both sides so the window can go back up and down properly
my window wont go back up i think its stucked but i hear the motor working sounding werid tho but i can bring it down wit button thinking it might b the window switch

Cut the cables that go to the regulator. Push the glass up. Drill a hole below where the cross bracket is. Put in a screw
How did you get the window up, prior to installation. Thanks. Very helpful video
Your video is great! My problem is that the window is all the way down and it sucks trying to get to.

Very informative.👍 I watched other ones. They are a joke. This one should be used in schools. Where in Fla are you. I am in Leesburg.

Perhaps change both switches and see if that solves the problem. OR drive down to Florida, glad to check it out

So how does the glass fit
Time stamp 8:50 you can see the 2 clips that hold the glass thru the 2 oval access holes. Glass slides in there and tighten the 10mm bolts
@PowerUpAuto thanks

What if you don't hear any sound coming from the window? No clicks, or anything coming from the window switch

How did you take the cables off the inside handle? The problem is your not showing anything, but simply taking them off:-)

Try changing the window regulator

@@gerardomartinez2542 just the regulator. Motor is fine.
@@PowerUpAuto alright! Thanks a lot for the advice. Your videos are great help for all of us. Keep it up!
My 07 santafe is different
07-09 should be the same. What are you seeing that is different?
I didn't look at the back of the plate, I thought the lift was the problem 😅
Could of just took the cables from the regulator and not take all the extra crap
